as a City fan i just wanted to say i was incredibly impressed with the tactical analysis of how city currently play, i find even city fans not realizing the subtle differences between each season. Great work.
The only way to create the width that Man City play with is to have your fb's be the width. You can have the roam from position on your wing players but they still naturally pull in, whereas your fb's can naturally keep wide. So when implementing the tactics into fm it's more about having a player in that position to recreate that role Man City play with rather than the actual player you'd want them to be. Your wing players will start out wide when you're building up play but then draw in when you're playing around the oppositions box so you almost want your fb to be playing that Grealish role and have them as a wingback. Your wing player will be Grealish building up but then be the Gundogan type when they tuck in. Your CM will play the role of Gundogan when building up and then almost be that Cancelo role around the box. I generally play the CM as an AP (a) or BBM for more stability

I even try these tactics on older versions like FM 2018, I can't copy everything exactly but as close as I can get them. They work on FM 2018 as well. Thank you for the video lad, also you should check Sergen Yalcin's tactic at Besiktas out it is quite interesting because he uses a target man who is Cyle Larin , a man with 6'4, on the wing like the Allegri's winger Mandzukic. He scored more than 20 goals in the Turkish league, additionally they were champions of Turkish league last year. Thats sounds great and magical and it must be glanced.
I doubted this tactic at first but it does create really good total football with a bit of tweaking to suit the players you have. Trying it out in a Newcastle save and its really good, cheers!
Just saw you also make some retro tactics. Would be nice to see if you can reproduce Johann Cruyff's 343 with Barcelona between 1988 and 1994. It's a quite interesting 343 because he used a diamond shape in its 4 in the mid, and the lower edge was not a defensive player, it was Pep Guardiola. Another particular thing is that he used a 5ft 6" AM as a target man behind the forward, who was either a pressing fwd (stoichkov), a false nine (Michael Laudrup) or a DLF (Julio Salinas). I usually do it but haven't yet in fm22, if you accept the challenge I'll try to have it done asap too

I reckon it would be great if you did a video on how you do the set up. I have a few tactic ideas that I want to try out before I implement them in a save (especially if I am already doing well and want to shake it up a bit).

This video was the only one holiday’d for test. The videos before this were all matches played and this one I created the tactic first, then started again a simming the whole year. I usually use rotations (holiday mode won’t do this). But every cup game is a whole different 11 and when playing lessers sides at home, I play those who aren’t playing regularly
Is it just me or cant we get over 600 passes. Cant get to 800. Man C irl have like that every game. Average 700-800. Like… when brenford have 500-600 passes. 500-600 sound bad when i have this tactick
@@mosbosa1625 he clearly states in the video that city havent used the inverted wing back role this season(which you can confirm if you watch their games).
They use IWB less now. They can still invert and underlap, but they also overlap now. IWB will always look to cut inside but that can cause two players to be close constantly in the same channel, which is what we want to avoid.
Tactics shorter passing, much higher line of defence and line of engagement, basically RDF 90% tactic most of the time. Boring. Try experiment with middle block. U get less goal conceded and more beautiful goals scored from open play. Remove play out of the defence as Manchester City move the ball forward quickly.
1) play out of defence is so defenders doesn’t clear the ball. It does sacrifice tempo but you want city to kick it long? 2) it’s true, shorter passing is my preferred style of play. That’s how I have fun playing the game. Don’t like? Don’t watch :)

I know you can go more direct, that’s why I have done before more direct before. This is not tiki taka.
Try standard passing and remove focus play right and left and out of defence. Play midblock, you will win Champions league. Since you went extremely wide, your players will use the flank even more, focus right and left doesn't necessarily needed.
