the 4-3-3 and the 4-2-3-1 tactis are based on the 4-5-1. if you have midfielders that can play either as dms or cms or ams you can use all three of them depending on your opponent. I mostly use the 4-2-3-1 and the 5-4-1depending on my opponent.
Great insights bro. Regarding Ten hag - he is great, but moving to another league and showing his tactics would be best before he goes to one of the so-called elite clubs. Doing work in Ajax (Note-I like Ajax), but it's different from other big European Clubs. Hope he has a successful management career! :)
Been trying to build my own tactic from scratch based on this footballing style at København in the Danish Superliga. Think Jonas Wind is a great option for me up top as he loves the ball played into feet. Rasmus Falk (AMR) and Pep Biel (CML) are creative. Thanks for your tactic, will use it for some inspiration.
What a nice coincidence and surprise. Have been looking a tactical a analysis on Ajax 2021/2022 to get insights into their movement patterns. Only had Statman Dave as reference and now you come up with this gem. Thanks RDF man
Brilliant RDF, loved this and great recreation! Hoping to use this on full release as long as too many changes haven't been made to the ME. Thanks again!
Don't know where you are getting it from, however it has almost always been 4 2 3 1. However as you pointed out the 4 3 3 easily switches to 4 2 3 1. Also the 4 2 3 one is more asymetric if anything. With a DMRC MLC and AMC. One of the big changes this season has been Blind and Mazraoui instead of being purely overlapping fullbacks they will also sometimes go inside as they are comfortabel in midfield as well. Kind of like how Gaurdiola likes them to do. Really had hoped that role would have been added as it is sort of inverted fullback without being inverted.
Brilliant tactic. Trying it out in my Newcastle project. Only downside so far is not getting much production out my TF. Bought Calvert-Lewin thinking he would be ideal for the role. Struggling so far.
The 0-6 against Man U Ajax could have went through if you defended the lead with 4-2-3-1 and cautious and just seen the game out , obviously it was simmed but that’s why it’s great to have a 2nd formation for seeing out games like the 4-2-3-1 you gave. I’m now going to start an Ajax game with these tactics but only useing the youth system, I do this every year this is first in 22 and it’s my best experience/reward playing the game
I tested this tactic (433) with 3 teams in the Dutch league. Keep in mind i simulated the season and bought no players. I only set the individual training to match the positions of the tactic. Ajax was predicted to win the league. They finished 2nd after PSV. No really amazing stats. I saw that the last game they lost 3-6 with a B team. Not sure why they done that. I also used this tactic with Fortuna Sittard (predicted 12). They finshed 6th which is rather good for that team. Fc Utrecht (Predicted 4).They finished 4e and won the Dutch Cup. Maybe you get better results when playing the matches yourself
Who played in the attacking CM role? Obviously not a natural fit in terms of FM but I imagine Berghuis? He plays that more advanced role between the wings and behind Haller for Ajax IRL.
Super review. Thanks RDF. I have been playing as AJAX in my beta save with a similar tactic, but I have been conceding lots of goals, so I will see if I can get some tips from your tactic setup.
Personally I just don’t think they work in the match engine. The lowest you can possibly to IMO is standard line + lower LOE and possibly regroup if youre against a top team. I’ve had A LOT of success using this combination (normally not regroup tho) + counter with a pacey AF + pass into space. Also important to play with ML / MR when you’re going for a “low” counter tactic. 2 banks of 4 has been huge for me in defending effectively. Usually run a 4-4-1-1
Having a low/very low LOE is both possible and often really strong when you're playing on the counter. Sitting deep as a defensive line is very difficult to make work if you're consistently trying to win and break down weaker teams.
well i play 4-2-3-1 but im not using a dm, instead im using an am to ap role moslty im using the same tactics with some differences to olympiakos. well since i dont have the strongest team in europe im getting wooped up but in my league im dominating almost every game. as seasons are passing and my team becomes richer im starting to taking better results in europe also and i need in total 10-15 seasons to win the CL :P just reminding im playing from 2006 until now only with olympiakos :)
I've been following your content for so long. You're very good at recreating tactics and understanding football. I have a video idea for you. A tactic with a ball playing sweeper keeper, one physically strong center back and a physically strong defensive midfielder as the main defensive portion of the team. The rest of the 8 players have to be capable of scoring and dribbling past players. I don't know what formation you would have to use but my idea is for the goalkeeper, 1 centreback and 1 defensive midfielder to be the main players that stay back. So once the opposition is pinned into their third, your team's formation would start with 2 (if you count the SK it would be 1-2). Then you would have to have only 2 passing pivots and 6 free roaming players that are all over the pitch. So something along the lines of 2-2-6. SK CB DM PV1 PV2 3LS 3RS CB and DM acting as the 2 back. PV1 (Pivot 1) and PV2 (Pivot 2) being the two passing option pivots behind the attacking 6. 3LS (3 left side attackers) and 3RS (3 right side attackers) which would be going into their wide, half and central spaces. To make it spicier, I would not play a player in the CF position. Meaning that the front 6 are all positioned in the AM Strata and M Strata. Haven't had the chance to buy the Beta yet due to work commitments but I'm sure you can come up with something like this that works!
@rdftactics. Btw, i think it’s safe to say Ajax plays with two Inverted Wingers this season, because both Tadic and Antony stay wide in possession to receive the ball. Tadic doesn’t attack the space like an Inside Forward does
That’s why I have him on support and sit narrow. Sit narrow makes him more involved in possession and support duty makes him less penetrating the space.
@@RDFTactics okay i see what you mean there. So there’s nothing contradictory about the sit narrow instructions for the wingers and the wide team instruction? Im just asking ofcourse because i like the way you do your analysis’ about teams
That’s why I have the RB as full-back as they aren’t instructed to stay wide or run wide with the ball and have the option to do both. Setting RB it IWB and RW to Winger would make the RW stay wide and RB come in all times rather being flexible. With attacking width (and you can see in highlights and also Ajax game clips) the wingers start wide before making the move inside

In order to switch the play to a winger, he needs to start wide and not congested, then he wouldn’t be free
@@RDFTactics I really love this reply. Shows your actions are always based off of a solid idea and good research which you can explain with valid arguments
I don't know if this tactic released during the beta but right now it doesn't really work. After 10 official matches, my wingers haven't scored any goals and the TM is struggling. Great video btw.
Could you analyze, and make Kjetil Knutsens Bodø Glimt 433 Tactic in fm22? You can analyze this season and Last season where they broke multiple records in the Norwegian league.
Really interesting video RDF, i’m impressed but i think ajax will be more successful than man utd in the ucl (looking at their current form). Maybe the program is right 🤷 we’ll see
This is a great tactic although it can be very demanding with the new FM 22 match engine. I can see my squad incurring injuries more frequently and getting tired very quickly.
From the adherence to actual ten Hag setup point it wouldn't be true. But Gravenberch's positioning as "8" and tendency to go into dribbles does indeed resemble Mezzala on support.
Tried it with different teams including Ajax, Bayern, Feyenoord and some lower Dutch teams but i am not getting this result. Avr possion, passing and goalscoring. Maybe the worked better in the Beta version or...another tactic was used for the results..hope not.

A Marcelo Gallardo video would be amazing, especially cos it looks like he’ll get a good European job around December.

Yeah you a great bloke . You and Zealand are worth watching 👍
I recommend using this with Real Sociedad, the squad is near perfect for those roles, great fun.

Big up RDF as always. I would love to see a tactic recreate of the Monaco team from 16/17 when they had that squad.
Awesome. Could You please do, or explain Brighton tactic of Graham Potter? 😁
Can play advance forward or any other role in place of target man?

Is it okay to change TF attack to PF attack or pocher?
Xavi al sadd fm22 tactic plz
Nice one, the pass map is quite similar to the real Ajax pass map
Is it possible to change the role on the forward and the tactic works the same anyway?

Tried this out on Ajax save Haller just too bad for it to work for me so many missed chances
How similar is this to Naggelsman's bayern? The single pivot along with the overload from the 2 mids into the attack seems very similar
This is a great tactic although it can be very demanding with the new FM 22 match engine. I can see my squad incurring injuries more frequently and getting tired very quickly.
