I absolutely love my FT Dino's but I must say the silver paint really makes the GP ones pop. Don't really have the space for both sets but decided to get Superator to put on my movie shelf. Appreciate these video's mate and I look forward to the full set comparison.
If anyone is on the fence about getting a gigapower dino, just buy one! They are AMAZING! I only have Snarl, and when he arrived I was blown away. Just absolutely beautiful masterpiece dinobots. Toon accuracy but no toy accuracy category? The toys generally came first but it seems the fandom has become obsessed with a budget cartoon that didn't age well instead.
I've said it each time you do one of these dino comparisons, If I could afford the money and the space for a second set of dino's, I would grab a set of the chromed Gigapower dino's. Thanks for the comparison Sony. I know they are a lot of work, but we really appreciate the final product.

Hi! I've been watching most of your GP-FT comparison videos and I find myself liking most (if not all) of the GP Dinobots a lot more, except for one - Grinder. The lack of an ankle tilt on Superator is quite a big turn off (at least Graviter has a toe tilt), and I like the look of it more. With that all being said, what do I do? Finding the X version of Grinder is pretty much unthinkable at this point.

It is fun becasue I agree Superator is in fact, the worst on all Giga dinos. But the thing is that Grinder is also, the worst on FansToys side, even Grinder is one of the worst versions of any FanToys out there. FT had to change so many things on Grinder and even send and sold so many replacements to make a decent figure. But, on the other side, with Superator I feel like Gigapower sold a beta version of his Grimlock, see this: the lack of articlations on some points, the lack on mold textures inside the armpit, that it is very weird because all the other Giga dinos have it. And the thing for me is the prove that tey sold an unfinished version is that all the main weapons on all dinos has a led, but superator, the main figure, the biggets one and more important and the one that have the bigger cannon, doesnt have any led but have the space to have one.
First thing I notice is Giga is all metallic with chrome. The FT is grey with Chrome in the right areas. The FT wins for me on aesthetics. Never owned a Giga so i can't speak for transformation but the Stomp has a great transformation. Call me a FT fansboy but FT wins hands down. The Giga fans seem to care that they are taller. I couldn't care less. The Ft has plenty of height for MP scale. FT wins hands down for me. And, look how much cleaner the FT looks overall. It's FT for me. Not to mention the Giga dino legs stick out 3 inches outside the legs of the Bot mode where FT hides them much better. Much better cartoon accuracy. And the smaller head also matches toon accuracy too.
Gigapower is 100% painted and are extremely easy to transform. I freaking love my set but, they're not small at all as each one is bigger than a combiner. As for cartoon accuracy, Gigapower never went there as their take is a more stylized version of the Dinobots.
Thanks for this review, I was initially hooked by the GP due to the big price difference.. however, looking closely, the FT has caught my attention due to its cartoon accuracy, which is very important for me. Now the next challenge is how to convince the wife to give her clearance to shell out the extra bucks for FT LOL
I have FT Grimlock but I’m going all the way with Gigapower to finish off my Dinobots , the paint metallic finish and chrome is so much better than FT imo
I love the chrome and size of the Gigasaurs, if the reissue had been moded to look more toon like I would have went in. As it stands FT still meets my toon aesthetic better. Good review
Normally I gravitate towards toon accuracy, but imo, Gigapower's bot's get an A+ on every grade on their report card. I can't really find fault. They command a lot of attention on a shelf or display case. I don't know whatever happened to GP, but if you lot are reading this...come back and give us the predacons!
FT all the way. Contrary to Stomp, Graviter looks nothing like Sludge, be it in robot mode or in dino mode. It's still a very nice collectible toy, no doubt about that, but it's just not Sludge.
The sculpt is just too important of a factor for me to go in on giga. Seems like a pretty easy decision for anyone that doesn't mind the stylised look though.
Definitely can't go wrong with FT of GP dinobots across the board. They aren't any of my favorites and I like a larger scale so the better priced GP is a no brainer. One thing to keep in mind, the original animation was trash for many characters hehe. The dinobots are a good example of that. I would not consider either of these "stylized" with that being said.
FansToys has better sculpt and the build quality is better as well. It's heavier too. Plastic is slightly better quality and thicker too. One would argue the Giga has better paint, which is kinda true, but if you used the X version instead, Giga would not stood a chance.
having owned both this is absolutely not true. everything about both is equivalent from a build quality perspective. if anything the fans toys bots are lighter feeling because they are literally smaller. the only meaningful difference between them is their scale and the aesthetics which completely comes down to personal preference.
Gigapower definitely weighs in heavier and has more painted parts overall. plastic and paint quality is subjective so you would have to judge for yourself, but it's about the same for both.

It was a great time for collectors, but Transformers collectors it is not as good with so many companies disappearing over the last couple of years.

I went with giga myself. And my wallet is screaming. Much bigger imhp but damn they both look great. The giga paint is just great though!
