This here is not how you do an offside trap, this is how you get your defense to concede goals every time someone plays a longball, offside traps require movement of the defensive line leaving a position downfield in favor of one higher up in sync, an static super high defensive line is suicide not a trap.

Regardless of that having a static line all the way upfield is not how you do an offside trap because everyone can simply come running full speed and as long as they time said run half decently they will not be offside when the ball is passed, meanwhile the defense is static and will never manage to catch up. An offside trap is done by moving your line up in synch dynamically with different game situations, and you never move it all the way to the midfield (save from a very specific scenario where you have all your defenders helping the offense cause you desperately need to score). In some specific circumstances, like a free kick, where the defense expects a cross or a long trough ball, the defense can stay high upfield pre-emptively, even so they never go anywhere near the midfield and they run back in sync with the cross so that they won't be standing still if an attacker does time his run correctly. This here is very bad coaching, no one should be doing this ever.

I've punched one person in my life (31 years) and it was on a soccer field when the guy I played against would pinch under my arm at every opportunity. As someone with a referee certification, I would say that in a professional setting, this would be a sending-off offense (red card) for both players. Both players committed what I would consider "violent conduct" (LAW 12, 'Sending-off offenses in the IFAB) which means it is permittable to red-card the player(s) in question. I think the referee did a good job of handling this.
Nah, a pro ref would give a yellow for the first infraction, and a red for the hair pull. It's mostly US kids soccer refs who would give two reds, because they seem very overzealous and punitive in their interpretation of the rules compared to the refs in most other countries.

I see a lot of people saying they can’t play or the physicality is because it’s “women,” not only are these kids actually but this is a rec league with parents coaching. The boys aren’t that much better yet. These babies all just got out of co-ed lmao. I can personally say that we guys get more physical than this. When I was younger, this was nothing. Yellow cards were passed out like candy. Our hs coach AND my travel coach encouraged our physicality and it was a huge distraction and very daunting for all the other teams, especially to come play at our school.
I’m researching this and I don’t think I’d win that ball if I were standing where this gk was. She’s far too deep in her net to come out and clear it, the problem started with her original positiobing. At the corner of the 18 with her player on their back and what looks like a pretty inexperienced winger attacking, on her weak side no less, I’d personally probably set and then attack if she took a heavy touch. (Again, I’d be further up the 18 to begin with, but if I were in this gks position, I wouldn’t be able to make it or I’d go out to blow the girl up). The ball wasn’t rolling quick enough and the gk probably would have made a wrong decision had the girl regained control of the ball and touched around her. It’s all abt positioning.
The problem with the yellow player is that white's initial shoulder had intention and therefore was worthy of a violent conduct ejection. Noting more has to be said about yellow's violent hair tug that earned her an also equally deserving sending off.
First of all, referees can't judge "intent" because they're not mind-readers, but I disagree that the white player's bump was incidental. It's unsporting behavior and warranted a yellow card. A red card is harsh.

Retaliation and hard fouls fall under the Violent Conduct and Serious Foul Play categories of the laws of soccer, and warrant both reds. Good call by the referee. It may seem harsh in what appears to be a youth recreational girls game, but both cards are fully warranted.
Julien Tagnon if you see that as a red card, I have no problem with it. The laws of the game never mention "retaliation" or "hard/soft fouls." A careless foul is a free kick and nothing more, a reckless one is yellow, and one using excessive force is a red. In my opinion, is the challenge reckless? Yes. Does it involve the use of excessive force in a way that endangers the safety of the opponent? No.

The problem comes with the first retaliation shove, followed by the hair pull that does indeed endanger the safety of the opponent. Both should see red for their actions.

I can see how you feel that both actions are not equal, even though they get equal punishments, but the first push was obviously aggressive and nowhere near an attempt to play the ball, so it is violent conduct. However, there is justice in the sense that the girl that pushed will probably get a 3 game suspension whereas the hair pulling will be a 5 or more game suspension.
This is a great example of violent conduct (Law 12). Although it is unclear from the video, the referee appears to request the ball from yellow who is in position to make the throw-in. The referee may have done this from a game management perspective and returned the ball to the girl after the sent-off players left the field, that is unknown. It should be noted however that the throw-in is the appropriate restart of play, as the misconduct occurred when the ball was out of play (USSF ATR 12.35).
the ball went off from the side line, last player to touch was the girl in white so it would be a throw-in for the yellow team. But before the throw-in could occur, there was this "brawl" /fight so there is no foul/freekick. If the ball was still in then it would be a freekick for the Yellow team even with the yellow player being red-carded
Someone please explain to me why on a free kick they are defending at the half way line. I don’t know if they are trying to do an offside trap or something, but it work. Also, why were they running at like 0.05 speed? Like any normal persons jog would be quicker than their full sprint.
Referee did a very good job. He was not very well positioned for the restart, but apparently made up the distance and was well positioned. Clear send off for both players for violent conduct. Reacted quickly, separating the players to avoid more issues. I don't understand why he asked for the ball. It was out for a throw in, which should be the correct restart.

Report for Yellow #8: Upon being pushed Yellow #8 grabbed the hair of White #5 and pulled her to the ground. I sent Yellow #8 off for violent conduct.

I can watch this all day! Although... at first I was cheering for the little girl. But did she say something that made her taller opponent mad? People usually condemn the physical abuse (because you're able to see that) but because we can't hear what is actually said, we don't know the true circumstances. Anyway, both girls didn't complain about the red card, so...

I see a lot of people saying they can’t play or the physicality is because it’s “women,” not only are these kids actually but this is a rec league with parents coaching. The boys aren’t that much better yet. These babies all just got out of co-ed lmao. I can personally say that we guys get more physical than this. When I was younger, this was nothing. Yellow cards were passed out like candy. Our hs coach AND my travel coach encouraged our physicality and it was a huge distraction and very daunting for all the other teams, especially to come play at our school.

I’m researching this and I don’t think I’d win that ball if I were standing where this gk was. She’s far too deep in her net to come out and clear it, the problem started with her original positiobing. At the corner of the 18 with her player on their back and what looks like a pretty inexperienced winger attacking, on her weak side no less, I’d personally probably set and then attack if she took a heavy touch. (Again, I’d be further up the 18 to begin with, but if I were in this gks position, I wouldn’t be able to make it or I’d go out to blow the girl up). The ball wasn’t rolling quick enough and the gk probably would have made a wrong decision had the girl regained control of the ball and touched around her. It’s all abt positioning.
White gets a yellow (that stuff happens all the time, it's not violent it's just unsporting). Yellow player most DEFINITELY gets a straight red.
Oh, and pulling the players back into closer proximity to issue the cards was not a great idea.

The problem with the yellow player is that white's initial shoulder had intention and therefore was worthy of a violent conduct ejection. Noting more has to be said about yellow's violent hair tug that earned her an also equally deserving sending off.
First of all, referees can't judge "intent" because they're not mind-readers, but I disagree that the white player's bump was incidental. It's unsporting behavior and warranted a yellow card. A red card is harsh.

Retaliation and hard fouls fall under the Violent Conduct and Serious Foul Play categories of the laws of soccer, and warrant both reds. Good call by the referee. It may seem harsh in what appears to be a youth recreational girls game, but both cards are fully warranted.

The laws of the game never mention "retaliation" or "hard/soft fouls." A careless foul is a free kick and nothing more, a reckless one is yellow, and one using excessive force is a red.
In my opinion, is the challenge reckless? Yes.
Does it involve the use of excessive force in a way that endangers the safety of the opponent? No.
+Stephen Malacaria The original tackle is completely legal (it's actually a textbook challenge from behind and is pretty well executed). The problem comes with the first retaliation shove, followed by the hair pull that does indeed endanger the safety of the opponent. Both should see red for their actions.

The little "Push" the white player does happens all the time, but in a situation like this i think it should be a yellow card. Then the yellow player overreacts a bit in my opinion. What the yellow player does qualifies to a red card. But in a situation like this referees usually gives the same card color to both players. So its a bit hard to say...

I can see how you feel that both actions are not equal, even though they get equal punishments, but the first push was obviously aggressive and nowhere near an attempt to play the ball, so it is violent conduct. However, there is justice in the sense that the girl that pushed will probably get a 3 game suspension whereas the hair pulling will be a 5 or more game suspension.

Every ref knows the girls matches always have a good chance of reds for hair pulling. It's honestly a miracle if you go the whole game without

This is a great example of violent conduct (Law 12). Although it is unclear from the video, the referee appears to request the ball from yellow who is in position to make the throw-in. The referee may have done this from a game management perspective and returned the ball to the girl after the sent-off players left the field, that is unknown. It should be noted however that the throw-in is the appropriate restart of play, as the misconduct occurred when the ball was out of play (USSF ATR 12.35).
the ball went off from the side line, last player to touch was the girl in white so it would be a throw-in for the yellow team. But before the throw-in could occur, there was this "brawl" /fight so there is no foul/freekick. If the ball was still in then it would be a freekick for the Yellow team even with the yellow player being red-carded

Someone please explain to me why on a free kick they are defending at the half way line. I don’t know if they are trying to do an offside trap or something, but it work. Also, why were they running at like 0.05 speed? Like any normal persons jog would be quicker than their full sprint.

Referee did a very good job. He was not very well positioned for the restart, but apparently made up the distance and was well positioned. Clear send off for both players for violent conduct. Reacted quickly, separating the players to avoid more issues. I don't understand why he asked for the ball. It was out for a throw in, which should be the correct restart.
Maybe it happened in the penalty area? No idea just a wild guess.
