now that wpl make the KM verisons that's all you really need. Use wpl Res V3 electronics or your own electronics if you prefer a full size radio likenI do. The wpl Res V3 is good with tons on options built in but my only dislike is the tiny transmitter.
I am really surprised with these affordable toy/hobby grade rigs. They are fun to mod and run. And once you add up what I spent on the modded blue truck. It's still cheaper than a lot of 24th scale name brand stuff that can't do this kinda stuff. 🤘
I’ve been wondering, most of waterproofing videos only shows to cover up the electronics and servo but never mention about the motor and battery. Is it out of the box waterproof or do you have to waterproof it as well? Great video by the way!
majority of brushed motors and Lipo and some lion batteries are inherently water resistant so they are safe to run in water without modifications. (some like to coat batteries with plastidip to make them even more water resistant) I personally just make sure to get the batteries and motors as dry as possible after running them in water.
I have a question. I have the WPL C24 Pickup truck and I was wondering what do you use to keep the water from damaging the motors and the main hardware?
I waterproof my trucks myself with plastidip. Its not 100% safe specially if you dont take good care when waterproofing. So do at your own risk and take your time waterproofing. The motor is inherently waterproof by design. You need to waterproof the electronics and servo board.
these are both kits by WPL. the blue one is called the C24 kit and the red one is a C14 kit. these are old kits and the new kits have since been updated with better parts.
if its your first rc I would recommend something else as these need to be tinkered with and fab some mods for. Like a 10th scale ready to run, but if your up for it the newer wpl and mn models are similarly spec'd out the box. I am a WPL fanboy so I would always lean towards WPL but both should be similarly fun.
I personally waterproof the esc receiver combo and servo using plastidip. There are many ways to do it. This is just my preferred method because i have a lot of that stuff.
I love the way you just throw it into water. It's pretty dry right now, but that won't last. I can't wait now.

yes I waterproof and use marine grease to protect the metal parts and bearings.
