    Nice review 👍👍
    Well said. I agree with you. Upgrading customising that’s where the more fun in this hobby. Wide availability and cheaper prices what else you can ask for
    No matter what anybody says I think wpl made this hobby affordable to lot of people around the world .

      Also very well said. It's actually quite a revolution in RC. Wonderful. I would love to see groups and competitions, and folk getting together on this scale. Sometimes it's hard to feel comfortable running around with the big ones. I think it's even more amazing that the WPL trucks can actually do about as much. Let's get together and Go Run Those RC's!

    I have a question and I was wondering if someone in the RTR can help out. I have my WPL all wired up and everything works but the throttle. When I turn on the controller it it starts driving forward and when I turn it off it starts driving in reverse. I can't seem to find the problem. Both servos are working fine just no throttle control.

      hi there! may I know your electronics setup? It may help figure out whats going.

    • @codyoscardavid6268

      @@RunThatRC I'm using a 30 amp esc, wpl transceiver and receiver, 2 speed motor and the 700mah battery. The ECS came with the red connectors that you would use for the small 2s lipo and I switched it out for the larger black connector that is on the wpl battery. The positive and neg were not color coded right. They melted and I switched them out. I wonder if I blew the esc.

    Any suggestions on improving steering apart from the fix to bump steering issue? I'm having trouble with centering the servo: for example, when I turn right and let go of steering on Tx, the wheels stop just shy of the centre long axis of the truck if you know what I mean. Should I install an external BEC? I feel like it's not getting enough power, and can't overcome turning friction.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I notice these stock servos don't center perfectly sometimes but I never had too much issue with it. I'm not sure a external bec would help but it might. Mine seem strong and adequate in my experience.

    • @idworkhard
      @idworkhard 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RunThatRC I noticed in one of your videos that the steering arm is attached to 2nd or 3rd hole on the servo horn while mine is attached to the last hole so that could be contributing to the sloppy centering. I might try mounting higher and adding a Bec. Thanks for the reply

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@idworkhard I'm on the second to last hole. BEC might help. What batteries you running? I'm running 2s lipos. 500mah to 1000mah

    Pssshh. These things can get through the most surprising lines. Actually WPL hit it good,1/10 scale performance, customization, being able to make repairs readily. All while maintaining a price people that may not be able to get into the big expensive machines, can get all the way into this. Brought it all to 1/16th. Doesn't take up the whole garage either.
    Or.... maybe it does, Go Run That RC!

      yeah the music was copyrighted so it was muted by TH-cam. Made these vids before i knew anything about that copyright stuff. I should make an updated version of this vid because WPL has more models now.

  • @modelnutty6503
    @modelnutty6503 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    for the price, they're very hard to beat. built with care (I got tips!) and being NICE to them driving, they're good. they're NOT worth letting become little money pits and there's no real need to go there if you know their flaws (like shimming axle input bushings, lowering the transmission 1/2" for the plastic driveshafts and more), they'll hold up pretty well. pay attention to older videos by Gabriel Silvaz, videos by HobbyDaddy, you'll see more about what/how these things really are, scale CRAWLERS, not meant for bashing and abuse.
    you CAN go metal gears, drive shafts, transmission, pull rods, pull rod hangers, aluminum axle casings, aluminum rims, metal steering hubs, and more.... still without any spectacular gains in overall performance, so it's kinda pointless to drop 100+ into a model that cost 30-40 bucks in the first place. near free mods can do wonders, if you're thinking about spending for all the WPL upgrades, just buy a more capable/real RC crawler instead, really.
    not saying I don't like my C-24, B-1 (rtr for 20 bucks?!), and MN-D90 a whole lot, they're cool!
    not saying I haven't thrown a few bucks at them for some good budget upgrades, cool too.
    I am saying they aren't worth throwing a bunch of your money into and are solid enough if you're nice to them... DEFINITELY shim those axle inputs for the plastic bevel gears!!

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      All good points. But to me all RCs are money pits. Just depends which ones are worth it to the individual. I don't do any of the metal axles, links, wheels and bling upgrades as I know there is very little performance gains. But for me the metal axled, driveshaft, and 2 speed truck has lasted 6x longer already than my shimmed honcho style rig (shimmed multiple times with new plastic gears). I do use it for more than scale driving 😉. The original blue one on this video has yet to break or give me issues since built and I run it the most out of all my 16th scale rigs with the b36 coming second. I spent tons of cash on my losi 1/24 crawler and that thing was never as fun as these and I'm only 100 bucks into this blue rig including the rig! My 10th scale I'm about 800 bucks into with aftermarket parts and counting. So yes these are worth the upgrades too me since it's less than what I spend on all my other crawlers, helis, boats, planes, etc upgrades. The fun these little rigs bring me is priceless! Life in general is a money pit so why not spend some of it on something that makes you happy. As for the other little mods I agree. If you can fabricate it easily then do that route. I only upgrade with things I know that work and I can't make and not for bling factor. So yes I totally agree with you. These can be money pits. But darnit are they fun! To me it's smiles per dollar and worth every penny!

    Absolutely, the building (making it mine) part of the hobby is half the fun for me. I spend a lot of time finding hard bodies from toy push trucks to modify and use on my 1/16 bashers. There are some of the channels that the host just wants to hear themselves yell at the camera. And others like yourself that want to have fun in a calm helpful way. Great channel buddy, I'm really appreciating you.

    Got a C14 on the way and was wondering if that 2 speed box will fit it? Cheers

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will fit direct bolt on. To complete you will need driveshafts and grind a flat spot on the pinion gears on the axles. Also a 3 channel transmitter or you can manually shift it as well.

    • @rc.remedy
      @rc.remedy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks RTR.. so the stock driveshafts are fused to the motor shaft, right?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rc.remedy no they are a press fit. But the 2 speed has a shaft with a notch for the metal driveshafts and the easiest way to install is to get the metal driveshafts as well.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not have any axle mounted servos. I like the servos to be out of sight for a more scale look. I know having a axle mounted servo will eliminate bumpsteer and bring weight down low but unless the rc came that way I prefer not to have axle mount setup.
