    Honestly, it's probably my favorite "Razer Rip-off" they've made. Now that the Stream Deck is back up to the same price, would you consider it?

      Not compatible with the newest obs is likely that the new drivers aren't out yet. It was probably being shipped at the time obs was updating.

      NOPE.
      At this point, since I already have an original 15-key and an XL, the next one on my list is the plus 👏

      @@Chief_Justice_Live That's really odd to me. I'm running a Loupedeck Live S (15 "button" touchscreen with four additional buttons and two encoders) and it works perfectly with OBS 29.0.2. Is there some way that the Loupedeck software bundled with the Razer software installation was an older version? Whenever a yellow light comes on in the software (I only know for OBS) it means that OBS isn't running and the software can't hook into it.

    • @DoubsGaming
      @DoubsGaming ปีที่แล้ว

      Half of hardware is the software. If it's not up to snuff then it's not worth it. Though the only good thing is that it's making competition (kinda). Competition is always great in this market but it's only great if it's actually competing.
      For the golden rule being "there is no bad product just a bad price", this should have been $20-&50 bucks cheaper given the fact the software isn't as good. Also, they are wasting their time and money on useless features which will be passed onto you, the buyer.
      So with that no, but if they made some changes that were worth something then yes.

    The major advantage for stream deck is the plugins. They have everything you can possibly want including work related like Microsoft Teams.

      As with most razer products (outside of some of them being cheaply made) is the software. Razers software suite is absolute garbage for just about everything. In their slight defense though its really Loupedeck's software, which is effectively what all the "razer" decks are.

    Just a heads up. Half of why i want a StreamDeck, i mean Controller X is because I would use it half the time for work functions. In the Logistics/Industrial industry, knowing which weak of the year you are in is actually a crucial stat. Usually something they make specific calendars for it.

    • @gryftkin
      @gryftkin ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you. I work with a company that uses a Julian calendar and something like which day of the year it is could be very handy... but none of our agents would really need a Controller SD which would make it a very expensive week of the year calendar :D :P Plus, I'm going to bet someone somewhere is going to make a plug in for that for the Stream Deck :P

  • @wolfarix

    I bet Razer had most of the influence on the design. One of Loupedeck’s first products was the Loupedeck CT which is a monster of a shortcut device. I have one and despite not using all the buttons they where doing something different which is why I spent way too much money on it. Even their more recent products that’s more like a stream deck where trying something different like adding knobs and profile buttons to a more stream deck like design and you know what, stream deck responded to that threat and released a product with knobs. Razer definitely said I want a stream deck clone and licensed Loupedeck to do it without any design suggestions from the Loupedeck team. Razer just saw this as a quick cash grab.

  • @EmazingGuitar
    @EmazingGuitar ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I like to use the stream deck for “interactive” gaming, for example say your playing a survival game that includes a lot of pick ups from the ground, I would add a key binding to stream deck for that pick up key binding so I’m “reaching out” to pick something when I push the button on the stream deck

    My biggest complaint with the Stream Deck is the buttons, they have a long travel and they are also way louder than they should be. The issue would be all the functionality of the Stream Deck - I assume this won't have most of that to start...and if you consider companion - well this can't compete.

    Newly subbed to your channel and loving it 🤩🥰👍! I have the Legato Stream Deck Medium (15 button model) (not for streaming) for ‘working from home’ stuff and gaming and it’s a great tool for enhancing my pc experience etc 🥳💪. I scored it here in Australia 🇦🇺 late 2022 for roughly $89USD on sale and it’s been a godsend for me. The Razer model shown as mentioned is simply a ‘copy n paste’ model for more $$$ 🤦🤦‍♀🙈. I always felt that an integrated usb 3.0 hub (4-port) would have made this an endgame product for everyone to have in their pc setup.

    I dont have a Razer But I have a Loopdeck and I think you are absolutly right. One topic you did not mention: There are really less Integrations for other Software. I tried IT and take it away from my desk. But to ge fair: I think the Streamdeck isn't as good as all youtubers are telling. In my opinion the wobaly partly loud Buttons are Bad quality. You ne er can be 100% sure, you have pressed it. Why is there still nö Button to navigate back to the last profile? Why cant I use the knobs of the Streamdeck + to navigate through pages or deine a list of action, rotate through the actions and then select one ( for example defining different light scenes and select one of them). Beide I think Elgato did not think until the end with the Design of the Streamdeck+ think Ing about Positions and size of the Buttons. I yust want to say, Elgato needs also to take several steps to make a really Great product

    I kind of do that anyhow AKA profiles that you have to use.,... I deliberately made a profile page on the stream deck aka home switcher button and I just pick the profile I want to use and everything for that comes up plus on each profile there's 10 pages so I can do whatever with 240 icons and unlimited* profiles.... With one profile being default profile which I just cut copy and paste that to any new profiles I make so that the page layout is always the same previous page next page page number home switcher on every single page sure I lose a couple buttons but you have unlimited buttons at minimum 240 for stream deck XL

    I have two razor products, a wireless mouse that charges itself on the mouse pad and a headset that vibrates inline with the base frequency. Both great product ideas (when they work) but both are clunky. After 2 years, today I'm replacing the mouse and mouse pad with Logitech. The razor mouse doesnt show a charged state (not even sure it has a battery actually) and has turned itself off too many times its just unreliable and will go in a sort of on off boot loop. The headset is amazing but the batter in it is too small and runs out within an hour. The synapse software is just bad. Going off these experiences i would avoid most razer products unless its a wired mouse...

    Cool video. I have a Razer Stream Deck(Loupedeck Live) that I use mainly for video editing, while I love it and it has been very helpful, I agree that the software is atrocious. There is so many unneccesary steps that have to be taken to customize it and I dread opening the software everytime. I'm hoping they update the software to be more user friendly because if Elgato makes a device that is similar to the loupedcek live i'm jumping ship asap.

    The problem I have is that the even the Elgato Streamdeck feels limiting to me in the worst possible way. Its around 100 bucks, and all I can do is press buttons...
    Then you have Touchportal which is like 12 bucks for the pro version, one time payment, and using an old phone I can have up to a 110 buttons per page and I think infinite pages.
    If I desire I can make Sliders instead of buttons and.. without hassle I can download pre-made pages off of the internet, icons included and use those straight out of the box, straight from their website or elsewhere like I did with a Star Citizen page that allows you to have easy access to spacecraft controls and other things without hassle.
    Kinda, sorta off topic here, possibly very rambly.
    It is ironic you talk about synapse being bad.. but then proceed to use a Logitech mouse... Synapse even with all the quirkiness, is still kilometers a head of the hot garbage that is Logitech G Hub. I dread using it every single time I my G29 steering wheel needs a little changing. It's the worst software I have used and the new Logitech Options is also worse than the older Logitech Options. SOmehow Logitech manages to make their software worse through iterations. Like.. the gesture button, I can't tell what shortcuts I assigend to specific gestures untill I click 2 more times to open the gesture botton's settings, then Click on the specific gesture, eventhough they have an image that displays what button is what on the page, razer has a similar style image and there it even shows the second key I bound to a key on the Tartarus Pro(Optical switch, I can set 2 actuation points for 2 independed keypresses) which makes it a lot more useful to me than anything logitech has made xD

    Wished they actually had a decent software for once, I have the old model of their capture card that it is compatible with PS2, yet I have never been able to make it work reliably, I just ended up getting one of those cheap PS2 hdmi output with a cheap capture card that seems to be the same as those 10$ ones, but has HDMI out, and even that worked better than the Razer one, like cmon Razer 😑

    Some competition between razer and elgato (corsair) is not a bad thing

    Razer did it first, about 11 years ago they released the Death Stalker Ultimate, if anything Elgato ripped them off js.

    ok no discord integration is weird but not keeping up with the latest OBS Software is just stupid and makes that thing kinda worthless imo 🤔

    For Mac users this is way worse, because without support for Keyboard Maestro, you lose about 90 percent of the automation potential of Stream Deck.

    the answer to the title is, they didnt. Elgato just made a basic macro pad and put screens on it, linked it to their own stuff and claimed they were the first company to do it. gamers have been doing it for over a decade. Razor did the same thing but so have alot of other places.

    You'd think giants of industry like Razer and Logi would learn how to make software at this point, but no.

    I find it funny that you dislike Synapse, since I love Razer for it. It makes programming my mouse, keyboard, Tartarus and headphones so easy.
    Other programs like Logitech are just annoying.

    Well if you look at the price a razor 15 key for 175,- or I saw one for 192.- or a streamdeck for 240 or less well why would I get a 15 key for 350.- instead of a streamdeck for 240,- 100 difference ! . more if the price is down on amazon prime or cyber Friday like that.

    razer made the stream deck before they did. it was intergraded on a keyboard called the razer deathstalker ultimate keyboard. i have it and love it.

    It looks like Razer's controllers are just rebranded Loupedeck hardware. Razer sells a what they call the "Razer Stream Controller" which looks identical to the "Loupedeck Live". Loupedeck is been making these devices for a while. All other quirkiness aside, why should I buy these things from Razer when I can go directly to Loupedeck? (No, Loupedeck doesn't have a version of the knobless Controller X but, I think, the question is still valid.)
