    Ive got a 2025 Ram! Bighorn crew 4x4 with 3.55 rear axle ratio ive got around 600 miles. owned it little over a week...i traded a 22 R/t challenger 5.7 hemi...so far i really like the truck its very comfortable ride is very smooth i have no wind noise issue. Interior is very nice good quality no rattles when driving. Still trying to get use to the big touch screen lol. i drive little over 50 miles a day to work and back home. when in the challenger 5.7 hemi i was averaging around 17-18mpg. in this Ram im getting 21-22mpg..and the power to me honestly its more powerful then the 5.7hemi..especially when you put it in sport mode the power from the turbos are on tap when you need it! vs 5.7 hemi where you have to put your foot more into it to wind out its power....the only complaint i have with the truck is its to quite" its just odd! especially for a Ram...got plenty bite but no bark!!

    This is the most accurate and honest review on the new Ram I've seen so far...both my son and I bought new Ram's mine two weeks ago and my son a month ago...I hate full sized trucks with boosted 6cyl's I'm a huge fan of the Hemi V8 therefore I bought a left over 2024 Ram Rebel 5.7 Hemi replacing my 2014 trouble free Ram Laramie...my son bought a 2025 Ram with the straight 6 turbo...we drove our trucks back to back and everything you said you experienced so did we...the Hemi V8 in mine seems as powerful if not more powerful than that 6cyl unless you've got your foot in the go pedal all the way to the floor and even then it ain't overpowering the Hemi by a margin worth talking about...my son feels the same way and finds my Ram seems smoother and peppier at partial throttle than his 2025 Ram because of the V8...he now regrets not getting a 24 with the Hemi...odd you mention the windshield his has already leaked and the windshield was taken out and the seal replaced and he's still got a leak...no wind noise but sure as heck got the leak...this is my 3rd Ram Hemi V8 since 09 and both my previous two were for the most part trouble free especially my 14 as the only thing I replaced on that truck after 150k miles was the AC compressor other than that both were trouble free hope the new 24 is the same...I will hold on to this one for quite some time as I hate 6cyl in full sized trucks...Dodge made a huge mistake dropping the V8 Hemi and keeping the Pentastar V6 instead so now Ram has 3 6cyl options they should have kept the Hemi V8 as an option to the two straight 6's IMO.

    I agree with the quality control issues with the new Ram 1500's. I have owned 9 Ram trucks over the last 26 years. I opted to advance in a different direction for my new truck purchase and passed on a new 2025 Ram. I am going to take a wait and see attitude with the new electrical system and the hurricane engine to see how things hold up over time.

    I have a 5.7 hemi ram…I’d like to drive the 540 hp high output ram just to see how it feels…ram must have been wanting to go out of business by getting rid of the hemi…I mean most people bought the ram because of the engine…

    I bought a 2021 ram 1500 5.7 etorque in July 2023. Was a 2 year 30k mile lease return. I paid $36k, and the MSRP new was $60k. $1k a month depreciation those first couple years.
    I would never buy a 3.0 turbo in a truck this big... won't last.
    I also wouldn't buy a new truck unless to get $15-20k off msrp

    I just got a 2025 Laramie sport, so far it has been a sweet truck. I have not had any quality issues with the 2025, my 2014 had the worst quality issues, weather stripping falling off, trim not installed, and the bed was crocked on the truck and dealer had to straighten it. I love the new engine thier is a slight delay but once it kicks in the truck takes off.

      I agree! i put only 93 octane in mine to get the full effect of the 420hp ...seems like it's a little sluggish and not as responsive on 87 octane..HP probably down to what the 5.7 hemi puts out 390hp/410tq...so far I have over thousand miles no issues..i averaging around 23mpg to work and back....but no complaints so far..if the engine proves itself to be reliable (🤞) it will be a big success for them.

    So funny you mentioned the windshield leak. Bought a brand new 2024 1500 and there was a piece of tape left on the windshield when installed at the factory. The truck got pumped with water. Looked like a built in water spout (like in a refrigerator) coming from my camera mirror. Got hosed by Ram on this too (they didn’t replace camera mirror or touch screen bc it still worked lol.)
    Ended up taking it back and traded for a 2023 1500.

    I drove the Hurricane in a Jeep Grand Wagoneer and was also slightly underwhelmed. Yes, it has power, but there seemed to be a low-end lag. Also, it does not feel quicker than any of the eco-boost truck engines I've driven. It will probably be a good engine for RAM, but it's not a Hemi V8.

  • @smarticus6384
    @smarticus6384 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If you are referring to the recent UAW podcasts about RAM quality, you would be correct to stay away from a new one for a while. I don’t know how long it will take to sort out the wiring harnesses/electrical issues. Still, it sounds like quality issues will remain for the foreseeable future unless Stallantis decides to do something.

    It’s does have way more torque just off throttle, but they have it tuned so you’re not constantly chirping the tires when the light turns green. I’d put a Pedal Commander or a Sprint Booster in it, then you could tune the throttle any way you like.

      Ever consider factory tuning has it detuned a bit for break in period for 500 or 1k mikes? 😉. 99% of consumers never see fact tuning nor change it, nor do they know anything about it period. They just drive it.
      Its well known even in powersports that during break in mapping is conservative to prevent full on flogging when new.
      Many automakers do this too just so your aware. Whether it be boost levels, fuel trims or timing tables.

    So, I just bought a 24 Ram 3500 Laramie Cummins. Its already been in the shop for a steering column bearing. I've also noticed more wind noise where the sunroof glass is and the driver's side window. My 22 Ram 3500 did nothing like this. So far, it drives fine and no other issues yet. If you have the sun shade open, but the glass closed, the wind noise is horrendous.

    I could be (read: want, absolutely don't need) in the market for a new ram. I'm not paying anywhere near what they want for them though. If I could find a 2024 5.7 4x4 laramie or limited for 50k instead of the 75k they want, I'd buy it. Or maybe a big horn with some option that is 'msrp' of 60k or whatever for $40k, I'd take it. It's been a while since I've driven a hemi ram, and I've not yet driven a 2025. I think I'd rather have the 2025...the engine sound does not doing anything for me, and I know after what seems like 25 miles the hemi engines develop an engine tick. Also, the turbo engine will have tunes available and then the power will definitely be better than the hemi.

  • @HenryCalderonJr
    @HenryCalderonJr 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Actually it is faster by 1.5 seconds then the Hemi and I own the Hemi because I love my rumble. It is faster I test drive for a weekend. Just did not like the lack of rumble. It drives great and better than my Hemi otherwise. I don’t agree. There is a .1 second lag but you don’t have to hammer it it kicks in as you gradually accelerate

    Hmmmm.... I want to agree with you, and before owning one I used to push the same argument, but no way does my 18 F150 XLT 302A, crewcab, FX4 with the 5L/10R80 get better MPG's than my wifes 17 F150 Lariat 501A, crewcab, 4x4 with the 3.5L/10R80. Now generally I'm rocking E85 in my Yote because I'm tuned, and it's faster on E85 than it is with 93 with my AMRL flex fuel tune, but even when stock, both trucks on 93, the Egoboost gets 1.5-2 MPG better than my 5L. It kind of surprised me actually. With that said my 5L is a 3.73 truck, where wifey's Egoboost is a 3.31 truck, both on 20" PVD's running a factory 32" sized tire, and wifey's Wrangler Ultra Terrains are noticeable more aggressive than my Wrangler A/T Adventures. (I require RWL's on my truck tires) With 3.73's I'm at about 2K RPM at 80 MPH, where 3.31's puts you at about 1,750 RPM at the same 80 MPH with the same tire diameter.

    Hurricane like all the other Turbo engines will be un-reliable and complicated and Stellantis made a Direct injected engine and left out the Port injection to help clean the valves like Toyota D4S and Fords duo injection. Being a brand new design they left off a perfect salution to the carbon build up on back of the valves. This means every 45k miles you will need to get them walnut blasted to clean the valves. Un-excusable after Ford and Toyota have proven there is a salution for that problem. Glad I have the 2024 with the 6.4l HEMI in my 2500 4x4.
