Sous l'impulsion de Carl Boenish, le premier groupe de BASE jumper se forma aux Etats-Unis en 1978. En Californie, ils sautèrent au début principalement le long de la paroi d'El Capitan dans le parc naturel du Yosemite, dont voici un reportage.

Carl Boenish 0:57 is/was my 2nd cousin! He adored my father, who was a Paratrooper in WW2. Carl would tell my Dad that when he grew up HE would "parachute". My father told me he encouraged Carl, but inside was really thinking "sure ya will kid".......Carl got the last laugh. R.I.P I have many photos of Carl & our family back in the day! Thank you so much for posting.
