Yes, during this festival, there is 2 helicopter bringing the jumpers up to this mountain. Normally they will have to walk up, a hard hike up, takes 3-4 hours.
What a gritty jump. All of them dive into abysmal depth just like the one from a diving board in a swimming pool while I shudder at the fall even in the video. Great 👍.
At this year, 2021, when this was filmed, there was 0 deaths, and 0 accidents :) So they all managed to open their parachute and land safely on the ground :)
Wow, what a rush. Everyone looked like they were having the time of their lives. It was so beautiful to see the love, and camaraderie shown by all the jumpers. One pet peeve I had was seeing, and hearing the girl screeching through a bullhorn. She’s finds herself in one of the worlds supernatural wonders where silence reigns supreme, so she figures she’s gotta amplify her voice through a megaphone? However, I do understand some people will feel phobic if they are exposed to too much silence. I once had a Japanese exchange student boarding in our house which is out in the country. She couldn’t wait to get back to the hustle, and bustle of Tokyo. She missed the noise, and the jostling that a crowded city like Tokyo offered her.
This video was made during the event Heliboogie. About 250 base jumpers meets to jump the infamous mountain Kjerag. During this event there are 2 helicopters bringing the jumpers to the top of the mountain. The girl, Rima, is a volunteer at this festival, and they are using this Megaphone to signal to the jumpers that next Helicopter is ready for departure, and as you probably know, helicopters aren't that quiet ;) . So to be clear, she don't use this megaphone to amplify her own voice, there is no silence at this area Lysebotn during this festival :)
Its very risky, and unfortunately there are casualties. In this sport there aren't any room for error. I made a short documentary about a base jumper, and he have lost over 150 friends to this sport.
@@JustinThailand In that case the sport should be banned. No sport is worth its while if this leads to frequent casualties. These are super-fit athletes and they could wonderfully serve their countries and families by being productive elsewhere.
Standing on top of the fiord looking across the tops it is like flat rock for miles in each direction. It looks like the surface was busted open by some extreme force. To me it is evidence that the earth is expanding. As it dose so it forms these huge cracks that go miles deep inside creating these amazing fiords and lakes. It’s really evident where the precambrian rock is exposed on the surface.

I can understand the trill. The exhilaration but why tempt fate by flying so close to the rocks or is that an illusion. Can you not get sucked in when too close. Personally nothing could entice me to jump off a cliff but if I did I would want open space around me...be safe guys! N

Yes, but the birds have a wingspan creating lift, our arms doesn't create any lift :) That's why the WIngsuit has wingspan under the arms :)
