I had considered getting this device, but thanks to this video, I realize that it would probably not be helpful to me as an African-American. Thank you, Dr. Linkov, for this vital information; I would have wasted money needlessly.
Thank you so much for making this series! Your videos are amazingly fact based and informative, I’m very grateful for you to be sharing this with us. Will you be doing one on female pattern hair loss (AGA in women)? You rock!!!
I bought a Platinum LED red light lamp for some neuropathy I had. My chiropractor recommended it. Since I had it anyway I figured I would try it for my hair loss. From what I’ve heard, red light only restores 35% more hair. It doesn’t bring everything back. I would say this is true for my experience. Did it bring everything back? No. However my hair is thicker now than it was 2 years ago. My hair is the thickest it’s been in the last 15 years or so. You can still tell I have thinning hair but it has improved substantially. Less of my scalp is visible than it was before and my ponytail is noticeably thicker. Hair barrettes that used to slip out of my hair now remain firmly in place, in fact my hair is now almost too thick to use them. My hair fall has substantially decreased as well. I have also heard that minoxidil only works for less than half of the people that try it. I’ve tried it twice and didn’t see much if any improvement. More recently, I have made a point of eating more animal based protein and now my hair fall has plummeted even more. Hair loss is such a complex problem with so many different causes. There’s so much trial and error involved in figuring out what works best for you.
I have been using a HairMax lasercomb for nearly seven years recommended by my dermatologist. I have fine hair and full long pieces were falling out. I now have a new head of hair! My new hair growth is Curly! I still have a lot of hair falling out apparently due to a follicular issue, but at least I have new hair growing back in!
Thanks for the review, I agree LLLt is a real option. I tried a couple of them, including the one that costs 1,200$ ... which died on my around the 1 year mark. Since I saw great results and did not want to pay that much again, I opted for the Bold Laser Hair Cap... Gave me similar results (speed of hair growth) and maintained my previous progress... while saving me like 900$.
I used irestore for about 15 months. Results were minimal and the reason I stopped using it after 15 months is because it became nonfunctional- the lights didn't come on anymore. No loose wires or change in how it was used. But out of warranty time so basically I now have a useless $1200 helmet. I took photos once a month to track progress or lack of it. The only benefit I saw was my hair grew longer faster than usual but did NOT grow thicker hair or more dense hair.
@@floridadude777 well I used it as directed. I suspect it doesn't work well without something like minoxidil. Maybe it enhances a secondary treatment?? On it's own I had very little result. Haven't heard of the other brand you mentioned. I'll look it up.
As of 8/19/2021, the iRestore Professional standard manufacturing warranty was updated from 1-year to 2-year. Though it did not work for me. I have used it for 10 months. I am returning to get partial refund.
I've had a Capillus for about 2 years now. Still use it daily. This along with the PRP and two hair transplants was a great thing for my hair. Overall my hair looks much better now than two years ago.
Awesome, thanks for sharing! Any chance we could see pictures of your process? I'm sure there's a lot of people who would be interested in seeing your journey :)
I work as a laser technician in a hair removal clinic and I noticed when I work with low power on patients they come back for the next session saying the hair grew even more than before the treatment 😳 Now I know why 😶

@@mikeross111 I think that's why the industry is so huge and there are so many studies done on a yearly basis. I wouldn't be surprised if it was bigger than trying to find a cure for cancer.
Dr. Linkov. I've had one FUE transplant 10 years ago. Age 58. That procedure worked well. I was thinning as I got older but not completely bald. The follow-up protocols for me are Revian Red (10 mins per day); Oral minoxidil/finasteride/biotin, made by a compounding pharmacy and taken daily, and once a week derma rolling. My hair looks great and I haven't noticed any side effects. Perhaps you can comment in a future video about oral minoxidil/finasteride/biotin and its efficacy as I've read recently in the NY Times about how powerful the combination can be. I'm a testament to consistency and not waiting too long to begin treatment. All the best.
I’m looking into using a laser light as my follicles are still open and wanting to help thinning hair. Wanting to see what’s good on the market. Hair club mentions xtrallux ? Doing my research now to see if it’s worth it?! Have you heard of this one?
But this makes no sense to me because even sunlight exposes your head to more red/infrared light than these helmets. So does that mean going out into the sun improves your hair density? or does the UV light or other wavelengths from the sunlight counter-act this effect?
Very true. I was just thinking about how sun probably does help hair growth. I think a huge reason my hair got more dense was from making a point to go outside daily- but I don’t have hair loss. I wonder if the helmet just being close and pulsing has the most to do with it?
@@yoshtg Distance doesn't increase wavelength, speed increases wavelength (assuming the emitter is moving away from the detector). Although, when talking about EM spectrum that mainly just applies to astronomical observations.
Thanks for your unbiased information and recommendation. You mention that you recommend in 2021 the Capillus laser therapy cap. For design, treatment time and available strong data. But back then there was no clear winner. Now we are May 2023, do you have differnt recommendations now? Especially when it comes to efficacy, also skintype V (mine) as you mentioned up till then it's only for I-IV. (Nd-YAG lasers are suitable for dark en and very dark skin having also infra red in it). Would it be possible to do an up to date review on this topic please? 🙏🏽
I had some hair thinning about 3 months after covid. I even had a spot that was almost completely gone. I tried minoxidil and it caused severe itching flaking and burning. I hD gotten a small red light therapy device for pain---- it looks like a mini flashlight. I dont know why but I decided to try it on my head . I do it when I'm decompressing in the evening and I just sort of lay on my bed close my eyes and think. I've been using this light everyday for between 10 to 30 min and I have all kinds of baby hairs growing. I've been at this for 2 weeks and some of these hairs are almost an inch and some are about 1 and a half centimeters. The hair shedding I was experiencing has been slowing down to almost normal. .....and after covid it was a lot. Overall I lost about half my hair and it happened in a vouple of showers. I was scared to see such large amounts if hair fall and had to unclog the shower drain several times which until then I had never had to unclog a shower drain. There was hair all over my pillow and kept tickling my arms as it fell through the day. I was devistated
I use the Revian Red in concert with 2X daily minoxidil protocols. I'm 58 and my three brothers are all bald and I still have my hair. The treatment seems to work if done consistently. I can't say I've had major regrowth but I can say that my hair, for my age, has pretty good coverage. I have no doubt I would be close to bald at this point without that active planning many, many years ago. Minoxidil began about 12 years ago and Revian Red about 15 months ago. 10 mins per day with Revian Red.
@@donnaryanhaynes7951 It's a laser cap that you use once a day for 10 minutes. I use it in the morning before I head out to work. I find it effective and, with a coupon, it cost me about $700.00 19 months ago. I've just added oral minoxidil/finasteride/biotin to my daily regimen as well. A compounding pharmacy makes it for me and I have a 3 month supply. A prescription from your dermatologist is needed but I got that easily. I read up on the efficacy of the oral treatment and it looks promising.
i thought this vid was gonna be about laser hair removal! that's so interesting that the same tool (laser) can both remove and restore hair depending on the dosage!
I was getting laser hair removal with a YAG (I have dark skin). The setting worked well for my legs but it stimulated growth (not intended) on my chest at that same level which was disturbing.
The $3000.00 Capillus cap was a huge disappointment for me. The charger kept breaking and eventually the laser went out after having it approximately one year. Contacting the main source or office and talking to someone in authority was impossible and all they did was offer a fee to replace the cap with a less expensive cap costing $700.00 . eventually I found a branch or Extentions of a branch and sent it back registered mail, without ever hearing from the Capillus again. Hummmm
@@appletrades I wish I can offer a meaningful answer. At the time I started in December 2021, I was on a horrible med (accutane) for my acne which affects hair growth, I finished the meds mid March, and in June I thought my hair had gotten much better. But I don't know, is it because I stopped accutane or because of the laser cap! I took more videos that I need to review in 6 months. That would be a fair assessment of the laser cap
Finasteride is most important because it's a DHT blocker. Finasteride and minoxidil work independently of each other because minoxidil is a stimulant. LLLT devices are also stimulants. It might be helpful to add it to your regimen, but I'm not 100 percent convinced that they work.
My personal experience after 6 months of use with a highly reputable 272 laser hood is that LLLT has little or no effectiveness. I maxed out with minoxdil and dutasteride medical treatment after 10 years and saw no gain by adding LLLT to my regimen. We need more research into better modalities of treatment. The best that current therapy can do is just delay the inevitable!
Thats because all hair follicles are already triggerd by other treatments. There are no sleeping or thin hair follicles that LLLT can wakeup or make thicker
Excellent review, very well presented! I am puzzled however, after hearing the Doctor suggest that a ‘pulsing’ lazer cap is likely be more effective than a ‘continuous’ laser cap ..then why did he recommed the Capillus Pro272, cap which is stated to have a ‘continuous’ laser operation?
I love you, Dr. Linkov! Thank you for this. I was nearly enticed to get the IRestore but something stopped me. I'm a fan of Fifty plus Beauty, and she recommends it. After watching you recommend for the Cap, I'm going with that!. I was thin before but Covid left me losing my hair by chunks!. I've got oral Minoxidil which actually seems to help. Thank you for your great videos
Male pattern baldness here. I'm on treatment # 159 of the TheraDome 40 LED unit that I purchased from Costco.I took a before picture. So far I don't really see any dramatic improvement. I've also been using the Kirkland foam Minoxidil 2x a day for many years with very little results. I'm a 66 year old white male, so maybe it's too late for me. I'll give the dome another 100 treatments. If no results, I give up.
Go to your dermatologist and ask about the oral minoxidil with finasteride and biotin. That combo has been getting good reviews. I'm 58 and have been using topical minoxidil, Revian Red (laser hair cap), and derma-rolling once a week for many years. My hair is doing well with this regimen and I'm the only one of my 4 siblings who still has any hair. They're amazed!
That is some dedication to a product my man, maybe it's my ADHD talking but I probably would have quit after 30 days of it not working. Unless it was like fun or felt amazingly good because otherwise I would quickly lose interest. I really appreciate your dedication to a product. I am in no way bashing you for continuing to use it, I am honestly impressed. I've tried the foams and the drips and the shampoos for thinning hair and have not found anything that particularly work. I do like the smell of the brand I'm using, and it feels good like cooling effect so I have kept using it for months despite not really seeing any results. Because at the end of the day I enjoy it as a basic shampoo and conditioner set. I'm not too far behind you at 49 but at least I have more hair than my dad did at 43 (he didn't make it past 43 so I don't know what my future holds)
Thank you for this. Do the lasers and LED's employed in both the facial and hair growth devices emit the same light? Are these devices similar in output? Low level laser/LED devices seem to be everywhere and I'm wondering if they are interchangeable.
That list your reading off at 5:00, what is that officially called and where can I obtain it, and more specifically one for for laser hair removal fda cleared machines and their. Year approved etc
Thank you so much for all your informative videos. You explain things so clearly & give us vital information on so many topics. BTW: You have such a clear, flawless complexion. Any info/secrets/advice for older women? I always had a beautiful/flawless complexion until I became "elderly". Now I keep getting blemishes (different types). My dermatologist says it's just aging & that it's so minimal I shouldn't worry... but it bothers me a lot!!
A study indicates that LLLT may have a detrimental effect on melanoma tumors by promoting blood vessel formation, which can potentially accelerate tumor growth. This suggests caution should be exercised when considering LLLT treatment for individuals with melanoma or similar conditions.
These caps are astronomically expensive for the kind of treatment they deliver, when the same can be achieved at a tiny fraction of the cost using over the counter RLT bulbs. Don't place too much value on the "FDA cleared" claim, as it is rather easy to attain with the right amount of money handed over, given the 510K process is very expensive. RLT treatment mechanisms between a large bulb vs an array of "medical grade" LEDs essentially the same. Whether it is in the form factor of a baseball cap vs just a bulb pointed towards yoru head makes very little difference when you understand how RLT works. It is incredibly effective at penetrating deep into the skin, so you do not need to have the light so precisely targeted. Anyway if you want to give it a shot without spending the astronomical asking price of a Capillus cap, buy yourself a couple of $40 RLT bulbs and some cheap clamp lamps give it a shot.
its the distance from the scalp and how light intensity reduces from distance probably but I appreciate the tip, do u know any studies done laser caps vs RLT bulb?
Ok I know this is probably a really dumb question but I have to ask it, especially when words like 'radiation' are being thrown around - are there any long-term concerns with something like this? Blasting your scalp with light/radiation multiple times a day for the rest of your life has me worried about things like cancer. I'm probably very wrong, I know certain wavelengths can be dangerous and I'm sure this is well within safe limits, but I just need that reassurance.
the HairMax 12 worked for me on the top of my head. I was happy with the results so i bought the HairMax 41and i used it for almost a year before i noticed it hasn't been working and my hair is thinning. I'm back to the comb and rogain
Great info Dr., I just got a capillas-pro and my question is: would it be more effective if i cut my hair to 1/2 inch or it will have the same effect if i don’t cut it ? I do have it at 2” and 1” on the crown. Thanks in advance !!!!
I manufacture a lot of these devices, it falls into PBM (photobiomodulation) or PBS which Gary mentioned. It seems it's a good complimentary treatment, but not a stand-alone treatment. The short is that it increases blood-flow and healthy cellular function so it's only good.
I friend of mine had that problem and he was prescribed Minoxidil and applied it in the morning and at night and after one month her hair came back, hope this is a good information... Good luck...
this is by far the most helpful video on lllt. if you do research online, people will either hate it/think it's a scam or give overly positive/enthusiastic reviews that seem very biased or sponsored.
First of all this Doctor should grow himself some hair on the head or wear a patch(hair piece), as a bald man he is incredible talking about hair transplants! 💙💙💙♥️💙💙💙
Great video, I was wondering what the differences are between this low laser light therapy. Whether you are doing it at home using a capillas, to going into a clinic and getting it done through one of their machines.
Hi doc, little question. I've had a FUE-transplant 8 months ago. I was wondering if it is safe enough by now for me to try this. Do you have any idea if it will negatively effect the receiving area of my scalp?
Dr.linkov you should be teaching in med school too as academic perspective , I wish you were my plastic surgery teacher or ETN , I know the morning visits of patients would be so educative and honestly so fun with u, you know in medical school sometime not always but sometimes there were doctors whom med students never want to present in class LOL:D but there are some dr that always their classrooms were full of students I honestly believe that your classroom would be like the second type and I wish you were in my school during my med school education ,but I hope some day we can work together on plastic and rec cases about the video amazing job as always
I was just diagnosed with LPP - Lichen Planopilaris. I have the iRestore helmet. Is this something safe to use with this condition? From what I’ve researched online, it is ok to use. My LPP isn’t as severe …. My scalp isn’t itching or burning all the time. It just seems like my hair won’t stop shedding and it doesn’t always feel comfortable in a pony tail. I’m also using a topical steroid at the moment for first line of treatment. Could you do a video on LPP?
Good video! I use the Laser comb with good results. I am able to treat areas of my scalp that needs it unlike the cap which would be treating areas that don't need it. Keep up the good videos!
I'm concerned that as a longhair, buying a cap or a helmet simply won't work for me since the laser won't penetrate through my hairs to reach my scalp. I'm in the early stages of AGA (androgenic alopecia) and I'm going on finasteride this week. I wanted to supplement my finasteride regiment with laser therapy but I don't know if my current hair density will allow for this to work. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.
Any thoughts on the Revian? It claims two types of LED light which are more effective than the laser light, and 10 minutes a day. Also the laser cap HD +. No cheap laser light one. Thanks!
10:30 Do we have ways of measuring cellular growth? If a cell is stimulated into kicking up production it both utlizes more nutrients being carried to it in the circulatory system and creates more waste, correct? Is that use and waste measurable in a specific area? Also, can we take pictures of the tissue to observe stimulation, growth and waste? With those tools, you could do a trial and error with each patient to see if you can unlock an optimal combination. Just my two cents- not a doctor. :)
@@28Driftstar Yes, I think so. Of course I have no way to know how fast it would’ve been if I was only doing two out of the three or one out of the three. But using all three together is what most experts recommend and I have seen good results
@@thedmg9832 when did you start the treatment and how long until you saw results? did you also had the typical shedding phase in the beginning or did it actually stop the shedding if u were already shedding prior to the treatment? also thanks for the reply!
@@28Driftstar I'm nor sure which treatment you are asking about. I started propecia in may of 2000. I started rogaine around 2010 and I started using the laser cap on fathers day 2018. I noticed results from the laser cap in about 3 months. I did not notice any shedding phase.
So the difference between laser hair removal and laser hair growth is just the level intensity? I have laser hair removal machines called Ulike. It's a quick intense flash. I also have these curved machines which are light therapy machines which say it helps with acne, but I wonder if they'd be good for hair growth as well since they might be low level. What color should the light therapy be? Because apparently different color lights do different things.
Haha I bet the differences are also is the power level & frequency of the radiation (a lot of the time expressed in wavelength, but it’s the same thing you just calculate one from another). Look since you’re obviously not an electrical engineer or someone who understands this good enough but is interested in learning it I would highly recommend to learn from Chat GPT4 or use other respectable sources
Thanks for the video! It'd be nice to know if there were studies looking at the relative effectiveness of near IR light or at least absorptivity by the chromophores. The prices are ridiculous for what the devices actually are. A laser cap seems like a relatively easy DIY project: 3D printed cap and several LED/lasers in parallel with a small battery pack. It seems like literature can give you appropriate levels of intensity to calculate emitter density & output.
I've the videos? Where can I find that chart listing all the laser helmet options comparing them accordingly? It would be so helpful to see the whole list
I'm really torn between rogaine and laser therapy. I've noticed my hairline only recently starting to recede ever so slightly over the last year. It's giving me some bad anxiety to be honest, but I'm finding it difficult to choose despite knowing that I need to nip it in the butt so to speak while I still have a full head of hair despite it thinning out a bit. I don't really see tons of hair falling out while I shower or run my hands through which I think is a good sign? Anyway. Thank you for the informative video!
Take progress photos. Every two weeks ot once a month. Look at them and decide pretty soon what you want to do. Like the Dr. said, if you are deciding between rogaine and laser light therapy, he recommends being on at least two treatment modalities, so it is probably better to do them both.
Rogain doesn't work on receding or front ,,,dont waste your money ,,I been there ,same as you ,,never saw hair anywhere ,I was ok up till 55,,not now ,,baseball hat
I read that tretinoin was used for hair growth. Co you make a video on that please? Also, tretinoin for aging skin. I know it's off-topic but it would be nice to hear your view.
I have the HairMax band. I've had it for several years. Dont use it often, but since having my 3rd procedure, I'm interested in what it can do to maximize the grafts.
When I had cancer and my hair started falling out, I just shaved my head and wore my fedora until it came back. But there are people in the cancer community that use a "cold cap" to prevent hair loss to begin with. The way it works must be a lot different, no?
I’ve tried finasteride for 3 years and it did not work. I tried rogaine and it grew back stray hairs. I have been using the laser comb and it’s working unbelievably well. I got the $399 ultima 9 but I got it for $14.99 from goodwill, lucky me!
I've been using capillus for just four weeks, I have the most expensive version, to understand. I am also taking supplements such as Serenoa, Moringa, Herbalife Formula 1 and Vitamins. After 2 days I immediately noticed that the hair is not falling out, now it is growing back hair. I use Capillus before going to bed with hair washed and feel until the next day that the "circulation" in my head (I think) is working. Plus, hair that's thicker and healthier to the eye. I was so undecided whether to buy it because I saw so many negative comments but I think they are from the competition (trichologists) or people who have a wrong diet: if you don't eat the right nutrients, your body doesn't have the basis for building hair. @@vins7cv139 Update: I have recovered almost all my hair except for a small area, the most difficult one, where I first started losing it years ago. I’m currently using LifeWave X39 in combination, and after just one month, I’m seeing new hair growth even in that area. My hair is now really thick and strong. So, the best combination I’ve discovered and tested on two of my friends as well: Capillus, Herbalife F1 + Niteworks, and LifeWave X39. This is the ultimate recipe for hair regrowth!
So, What I use... LLLT cap, minoxidil, finasteride, Derma-rolling., I have been fighting hair loss for 25 years, and winning! The biggest noticable difference has been the addition of derma-rolling. That has increased the density noticably. My wife and kids have noticed the difference as well. The true test is me. I am very pleased with the regrown of vellus hairs turning to more mature ones. An interesting side note. I have been using Rogaine for 25 years and my hair have very little grey, about 10% opposed to my brother who is totally grey. Perhaps it is the constant stimulation of the follicle not sure.

Thanks for this. I am using the hand held HairMax. mostly I have a widening part that became more pronounced with age. I use it in conjunction with Minoxidil. It's been about 6 months and I am definitely noticing less hair falling and what's caught in my brush and it seems to be filling in the part. Do you think the cap would work better?
Yeah I'm wondering about this too. I mentioned to my derm getting the handheld and he said yeah might not be powerful enough. But when I said yeah but how am I gonna use the cap with long hair, he kinda just waffled.
I have been using a handeld device for nearly two years. I have noticed a big improvement. I also use a red light panel for my skin, so that might be helping too. It is time consuming using the handheld but I will definitely continue. Anyway...I am scared to stop now incase it all drops back out!
Hello! Thank you for all your awesome content. This is the most informative channel on youtube on hairloss and hair restoration also done by an experienced surgeon that actually does himself the procedures. I was wondering, did you happen to see studies done for redensyl, procapil, baicapil, capixyl - some emerging compounds for hairloss, although maybe not as potent as the medicines like finasteride and minoxidil, for some people, especially in those that start to observe their receeding since the first phases and have a family history of androgenetic alopecia, but still, maybe they can somehow help preserve hair alongside with the laser option.
Thanks for the info. You see these commercials where it's like "You can grow your hair WITH LASERS!" and you generally just go, "Are you f*cking kidding?"
So I just got a transplant (DHI METHOD) already incorporated finasteride and waiting on minoxidil without alcohol to prevent dryness and itchiness. Should I also add the light therapy?
I'm glad you pointed out that more melanated skin won't benefit nearly as much. My skin likely won't benefit from this laser hair method. Thank you for doing these videos though. Because of you i got a dermaroller and have started seeing progress. My wife and daughter noticed before I did.
How much and where from may I ask friend. It’s ruined my life in ways I cannot explain. Stopped going out and everything. I went from popular to a laughing stock fast. My “friends” seem to think it’s cool to make fun of me. I been single 15 years. Wanted to die in my sleep etc. I’m paranoid and I dunno. I just want out this life.
The ignorance in these comments from grown folks is absurd. Do y’all realize there’s numerous CAUSES/TYPES of hair loss? Did it ever occur to y’all the Dr might have a condition that causes 1 of those types of hair loss before u made ur asinine disrespectful comments? If u were smart, you’d see ur Dr FIRST to get blood work so you’d know if u have a type of hair loss these devices were designed for, BEFORE u foolishly purchased 1 then inaccurately claimed it didn’t work, when in reality it didn’t work due to your cluelessness.
I had my hair transplant and dr told me to use it for 4-5 more months, since it will help in the healing process of the hair. If I stop using after three months and never use again, will my situation on the rest of the hair that I already had decrease just like when you stop finasteride for example ? Because it’s too expensive for me to buy right now.
Does this work on parts of the head where hair is thinning, or can it also stimulate hair growth in places where the person has lost hair and has a shine coming on on the head?
what i want to know is what is the best treatment for Alopecia Areata cause that's what I have and im using Capillus at the moment. I hope it works on me

*What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Romans 10:9
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

FYI the SkinGenics LED hair growth helmet is way more affordable than the iRestore… just saying.
Have you tried It?
I had considered getting this device, but thanks to this video, I realize that it would probably not be helpful to me as an African-American. Thank you, Dr. Linkov, for this vital information; I would have wasted money needlessly.
I wish that all doctors were this caring and likeable.
Could you share what exact product do you use? How much do you aproximate your hair to the device?
I don't know why this guy Dr Gary voice is very soothing I could almost fall asleep while he is explaining throughly
I can’t believe I requested this video yesterday in the comments section on another video, AND HERE IT IS!!
Is hairmax lasercomb is good?
How often do you use it please? I just bought one. Do u find your hair becomes frizzy and thinner in the beginning? I think mine does
Thanks for the review, I agree LLLt is a real option.
Will u please name the device so I can buy one. I have a very tight budget unfortunately. Thank you.
Wasn't the 1st cap you bought that died, under warranty? I think you said a little less than a year....
Weird that this is word for word the same review that appears on testpilot. How spontaneous is this comment?
I used irestore for about 15 months. Results were minimal and the reason I stopped using it after 15 months is because it became nonfunctional- the lights didn't come on anymore. No loose wires or change in how it was used. But out of warranty time so basically I now have a useless $1200 helmet. I took photos once a month to track progress or lack of it. The only benefit I saw was my hair grew longer faster than usual but did NOT grow thicker hair or more dense hair.
Thank you for sharing your honest experience.
I bought mine at Costco which has a *lifetime* warranty.
You didn't use it enough dude. And Kierrs is better. IRestore is not LLLT.
@@floridadude777 well I used it as directed. I suspect it doesn't work well without something like minoxidil. Maybe it enhances a secondary treatment?? On it's own I had very little result. Haven't heard of the other brand you mentioned. I'll look it up.

Dr.
I’m obsessed with your skin. Have you released your skin care routine?
But this makes no sense to me because even sunlight exposes your head to more red/infrared light than these helmets. So does that mean going out into the sun improves your hair density? or does the UV light or other wavelengths from the sunlight counter-act this effect?
Good point!
Very true. I was just thinking about how sun probably does help hair growth. I think a huge reason my hair got more dense was from making a point to go outside daily- but I don’t have hair loss.
I wonder if the helmet just being close and pulsing has the most to do with it?
He emphasized the distance from the light source being extremely important. The sun is pretty far away.
Actually yes ! Sun light helps in hair growth

You mention that you recommend in 2021 the Capillus laser therapy cap. For design, treatment time and available strong data. But back then there was no clear winner.
WHAT is Revian Red?

The $3000.00 Capillus cap was a huge disappointment for me. The charger kept breaking and eventually the laser went out after having it approximately one year. Contacting the main source or office and talking to someone in authority was impossible and all they did was offer a fee to replace the cap with a less expensive cap costing $700.00 . eventually I found a branch or Extentions of a branch and sent it back registered mail, without ever hearing from the Capillus again. @@jemma-joonhow is the situation with your hair now ?
Wondering how it works in conjunction with minoxidil and finasteride if I’m using these two already will there be any improvement?
Finasteride is most important because it's a DHT blocker. Finasteride and minoxidil work independently of each other because minoxidil is a stimulant. LLLT devices are also stimulants. It might be helpful to add it to your regimen, but I'm not 100 percent convinced that they work.
Hi Dr. Gary, i really enjoy your videos. Thank you so much for such amazing content.
Once you reach that point the next stage is a hair transplant.

I’m thinking that you’ll have to give any treatment months, not weeks before you can actually appreciate any change….

I manufacture a lot of these devices, it falls into PBM (photobiomodulation) or PBS which Gary mentioned. It seems it's a good complimentary treatment, but not a stand-alone treatment. The short is that it increases blood-flow and healthy cellular function so it's only good.
The problem with higher energy lasers (ie 'bluer' lasers) is their lower penetration power compared to IR. Lasers also tend to degrade biomaterial.

@Mike Studmuffin no lies bruh
What is goodwill?
@ thrift store
Can you post a link to the device comparison chart? Thanks!
(Hello from Italy)
Capillus is working?
Any update?
@@vins7cv139 Update: I have recovered almost all my hair except for a small area, the most difficult one, where I first started losing it years ago. I’m currently using LifeWave X39 in combination, and after just one month, I’m seeing new hair growth even in that area. My hair is now really thick and strong.
So, the best combination I’ve discovered and tested on two of my friends as well: Capillus, Herbalife F1 + Niteworks, and LifeWave X39.
This is the ultimate recipe for hair regrowth!
Should I or can I use a dermaroller a day before laser treatment??
Can you share how often an what depth?
@@austinhill11 sure, I use the roller twice a month. The depth is 1.5mm
@@michaelrosenberg2420 thank you so much!
Michael Rosenberg hello brother. Are you applying Minoxidil once or twice a week? Foam or liquid? How long are you if you don't mind 😅
Thanks 🙏
@@benchabanehocine7809 I use Minoxidol at every night. Sometimes I use the foam sometimes the liquid. It does not matter. The strength is the same (5%)
Thanks for this.
You see these commercials where it's like "You can grow your hair WITH LASERS!" and you generally just go, "Are you f*cking kidding?"
my dad uses those laser caps. it's funny because he always has a buzz cut... like super short hair so you can't even tell his hair is thinning. 😂
Did you see improvement with his hair loss with it?
So I just got a transplant (DHI METHOD) already incorporated finasteride and waiting on minoxidil without alcohol to prevent dryness and itchiness. Should I also add the light therapy?
You did a hair transplant? Plus using finasteride...and incorporating minoxidil? Don't add or spend more ask your surgery derm......
amazing video I was wondering this therapy so much
Hi Dr. Gary, can you use this longer than recommend time? Like for an hour? All day?
@@Kodes-75 why dude?
Melanin absorbs energy too so I highly doubt that. Maybe keeping it on for longer. I wouldn’t cross it off just yet.
Let a study be done first
@@Kodes-75 hey. You ok?
@@chickaweeka I’m just trying… thanks. 🙏
Does the use of hair loss concealers like keratin fibres of root sprays for touch ups reduce the efficacy of lasers?
The ignorance in these comments from grown folks is absurd. Do y’all realize there’s numerous CAUSES/TYPES of hair loss? Did it ever occur to y’all the Dr might have a condition that causes 1 of those types of hair loss before u made ur asinine disrespectful comments? If u were smart, you’d see ur Dr FIRST to get blood work so you’d know if u have a type of hair loss these devices were designed for, BEFORE u foolishly purchased 1 then inaccurately claimed it didn’t work, when in reality it didn’t work due to your cluelessness.
I had my hair transplant and dr told me to use it for 4-5
more months, since it will help in the healing process of the hair.
