Hey ..keep up the EXCELLENT work (if one can call it that.can we call our deepest heartfelt passion work🤔) What you do is BEYOND amazing! Seriously, I've had the pleasure of watching your channel for just over a year now. It's simply breathtaking & sublime on so many levels.. Your channel is a MASTERCLASS in video production from A to Z brother! Thank you for having the courage to put your dream into motion. The postive impact you've had on others with your passion is AWESOME! Thank you 😎😊
Wow, at 4 mos. you have 4.5mil views! That's a huge success. 1 word of advice: get an investment counselor and invest in property or something that is a sure bet. Don't buy stupid stuff nor a mega mansion right outta the gate. TH-cam is still a risky business. I wish you the very very best! This vlog is very beautiful and interesting!

I ❤️ your very informative channel. I lived in Ontario for 10 yrs and you showed me so much more than than I could ever imagine even existed. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤keep living your best life and Erinn is a keeper!!
If a tuber quit their job to make videos that’s ambition rite there money is money still working it would just come easier we need to get out of this mentality of thinking we need to slave ourselves to make something out of life work should be fun not stressing
@julliansenior6505 yes great point! I guess my comment was more about Jon's expertise with wilderness experience and respect for nature as his primary focus, with the you tube stuff being secondary. Sometimes I watch his films and imagine the ruckus it would cause if inexperienced folks just randomly went to these places without the necessary precautions and expertise. Much respect to Jonathan and his treatment towards Canadian wilderness. 👍✌️
@@EmilyVidd I agree, he always tries to educate a bit whether its reading a paragraph of his book on that trip or describing how the ecosystem works in that area. The videography is superb from the time-lapses to the macro video of plants and bugs.
This, and the entirety of this channel belongs in the archives of the National Film Board of Canada. It’s a historical document of our nation’s remote wilderness in the early 21st century and so much more. We are so privileged to witness it all as it’s published.
Jon, I'm 71 years old. I've camped, canoe and kayaked, and seen many types of wildlife. However, I've never experienced the extended time in the wilderness that you have. I salute you for having the fortitude to do so, and envy you for capturing and sharing it with all of us.
My son is 18 and has a wild roaming spirit. He has ideas that change on a weekly basis, but they always come back to being in the wild and traveling in a free self sustained mode. He is held back by what society and his family wants him to do. Settle down, make roots and pursue a living. I am going to show him this video and hopefully inspire him to go for it and not look back. Thank you for putting it all together in a beautifully produced video.
Yeah that would be the best of both worlds. TH-cam has allowed Jon to both make a living, while roaming free. This channel isnt really about self sustaining. It's the story of how resources were used to turn ones passion in to money and support.
You should stop being such a narcissist and inspire him yourself. His life is not about what you want for him, but what he wants for himself. Get the hell out of his way. Respectfully sir.

Thank-you for the history of your channel. It might soon become a book! The kind you seem to like reading, in fact. I enjoy your channel very much and I wish you a great day! 🙂
I have been watching Lost Lakes for well over a year now. I do not believe in subscribing to a channel just because it is "free and so easy". It takes me a long time of constant great content before I 'simply click'. There are about 10 TH-cam channels I subscribe too, and Lost Lakes is one of them! 80% of any adventure is only 20% interesting. Jon does an unbelievable job at bringing the most important moments in a 12-day trip (that most of us dreamed about doing) into a 1- or 2-hour video! And Erin... I hope Jon realizes what he has in Erin!
@OfficeMonitor…started watching him early on…every trip it seemed he had a new girl…At first I just thought he must have a high ‘male drive’…when I mentioned it to my husband, he said, “He’s just looking for a gal who can keep up and love it like he does.” He was correct:) We love the show and Erin:)
Everything I’ve always been waiting to watch, observe, or experience myself somehow. This is absolutely incredibly. Truly inspiring. So extremely compelling ❤

Just love your videos… so glad you are doing what makes you happy and Erin is there beside you…thank you for sharing Gods beautiful creation, your videos are masterfully done. May God bless you both and keep you safe Jon! Stella

This was an epic video of your journey as a TH-camr, the graphics were amazing and the photography outstanding. But most of all it really captured the essence of the tripping. Thank you so very much for this outstanding adventure.
No channel quite captures the essence of Ontario camping and its natural beauty like you do Jon. It's amazing to see your channel's audience growing and seeing the backstory of you pursuing such a fulfilling life. Thank you for the countless hours of amazing content!
The most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen. Oh, and let's throw in a quadruple rainbow! Wow. I feel so lucky to be Canadian and an outdoor adventurer, but you sir have preserved it on film for us. Thank you! I've loved your channel since you started it and am amazed by your filming style. Thank you! ❤

You must have watched this intro close to 100 times. It's sick buddy. So well done! The backstory bits are my favourite! Love this, and Erin is so special, you deserve each other. Much love as always buddy
Great video! I love the back story, and I am looking forward to the 3 other parts! I have been watching for years, and it's been a pleasure to watch you and Erin together on many adventures. Thank you
love love love that you included the analytics and revenue side of this transition in your life. That to me shows some real authenticity and that you are in this for the passion not the money (don't worry that is also very apparent from your videos - I've been a subscriber for years). It's a side of youtube that people dont understand and most creators keep hush hush so thank you for that. Awesome video and series man and very happy that it all worked out in the end. A little risk makes it all the more exciting eh?
My husband commented about the AMOK's a few weeks ago... we love them thanks to you introducing them to us. For the record, your channel is BY FAR our most favourite of the few we follow. The excitement in our home when you post a new video is palpable. We are most grateful you quit your job to pursue your passion resulting in entertaining and inspiring us. Your grasp of cinematography, commentary, humour and serenity is a delicious blend we can't get enough of. It would be an incredible honour to run into you someday out there. And yes, we wear your merch!!
John, your channel is one of if not THE best wilderness channels of all the land. I am always excited anytime I see a new video from you. The Baird brothers, Joe, Xander, Steve and you and Erin make me want to live there. I hope just once I can take a week or two to come canoe, fish and camp on of the gorgeous provincial parks of Canada.
Jon... whatever happens. Whatever future choice needed for your family. This journey exploring your amazing Canada has been a joy to watch. You will never regret a moment of it. ❤
As someone who has done many portaging trips, two things, 1) Don't worry about how many lakes you can get to, living in the moment and absorbing all of that beauty feeds the soul, 2) Eat more fish, you're never going to dent the population in lakes not many people are willing to work that hard to explore and fish..What a great channel..Thanks..
Spectacular! You are a great filmmaker! You took a chance and bet on yourself and did it ! Congratulations...have been watching you grow this into what it has become.. But it's still true to what you've been doing all along! Tremendous accomplishment.
I've watched every single trip, and I am always excited to see a new upload! This one is no exception. Truly a work of art. I cannot say enough good things about your work Jon. I am truly thankful for it. I also love the history behind how you started and have always wanted to know more about you and your family. Thank you for teaching respect for the rivers, lakes and streams ...for your love of paddling and respect for your forefathers (leave behind) you are absolutely my favorite paddler and "my canoe guy"! You rock!
What a great video! It's Awesome my friend. When you said you only paid $ 1500 for that Kevlar canoe I look them up and you got a great deal. They go for 2500 to 3500. Well thanks for this video and all your videos. Keep em coming.
New to the channel, on a recommendation from a coworker to check it out. In today’s age of quick clips and instant gratification, I throughly enjoyed the 3 hr40 min video…mind you it took a couple evenings to watch it all. As Fleming grad , 1993, I had the pleasure of having Kevin Callan as a professor who @LostLakes mentions a couple times throughout
Love this kind of story telling video, and some hefty to sink my teeth into over the weekend! Congratulations on doing what your clearly passionate about👊🏼

@OfficeMonitor…started watching him early on…every trip it seemed he had a new girl…At first I just thought he must have a high ‘male drive’…when I mentioned it to my husband, he said, “He’s just looking for a gal who can keep up and love it like he does.” He was correct:)
We love the show and Erin:)
Everything I’ve always been waiting to watch, observe, or experience myself somehow. This is absolutely incredibly. Truly inspiring. So extremely compelling ❤
Wow what a beautiful and well-done video! When your work is your passion, it's not work! Thank You so much for the amazing quadruple rainbow! Don't think I will ever witness this in person and so very grateful for you sharing this amazing moment. Love your channel and both of you!

Aim for the stars Sir!
We could watch this all day, over and over.. big fan of your talent
This is the first video I have watched on your channel, and I am fighting the urge to not stay up until 12 am watching your videos.
The vivid scenery fuels my balance, while your truthfulness and honesty stokes my own humanity and my continued fight to overcome my congenital shortcomings. Thank you

I did have some spring cleaning plans/yardwork that needed to be done this weekend, but instead I have been watching this 4hr cinematic masterpiece on and off thank you, incredible watch!
This was an epic video of your journey as a TH-camr, the graphics were amazing and the photography outstanding. But most of all it really captured the essence of the tripping. Thank you so very much for this outstanding adventure.
Love it!❤ So.. refreshing than the news. My usual routine. Thank u! The rawness is exhilarating.
Love the comparison of aged wine to the freeze dried meal!!
I'd like to believe what you did is the definition of 'courage'... jumping into the unknown following your passion leaving a nice job behind. 😎
I believe Im now on my tenth watch. Cant wait for the next instalment.
Thank you! ❤
I love watching your videos right before i go to sleep because you have such a nice and chill personality and your addeting is outstanding. It calms me down and make me forget my problems for some time
You must have watched this intro close to 100 times.
"You can do it Bruce!" That was so random and hilarious! The scenery is truly breathtaking and serene; looking forward to watching more!
Mann this was so good. I feel like ive gotten to know you so much more after this. Well put together looking forward to summer 🌞
Aw thanks buddy ☺️😊
I've been with you since the Little Pic River.
Spectacular! You are a great filmmaker! You took a chance and bet on yourself and did it ! Congratulations...have been watching you grow this into what it has become.. But it's still true to what you've been doing all along! Tremendous accomplishment.
You're living my dream. Amazing job with the video.
Very well done. I enjoyed watching immensely.
1.7M in 2 weeks. So incredibly happy for Jon & Erin that this video is reaching so many people. Grateful for this channel ❤
…also, sry about the Leafs, Jon 😅
I've watched every single trip, and I am always excited to see a new upload! This one is no exception. Truly a work of art. I cannot say enough good things about your work Jon. I am truly thankful for it. I also love the history behind how you started and have always wanted to know more about you and your family. Thank you for teaching respect for the rivers, lakes and streams ...for your love of paddling and respect for your forefathers (leave behind) you are absolutely my favorite paddler and "my canoe guy"! You rock!
The only 3 hr+ video i've watched on YT without skipping.
Never get tired of your adventures Jon! I watch them over and over!
What a great video! It's Awesome my friend. When you said you only paid $ 1500 for that Kevlar canoe I look them up and you got a great deal. They go for 2500 to 3500. Well thanks for this video and all your videos. Keep em coming.
We love everything you do Johntario. Poetic gold.
Congratulations on doing what your clearly passionate about👊🏼
Hi Jon! I've been a subscriber for a long time. Thank you for this adventure, and thank you for sharing all you did with us! Good for you for following your dreams and heart! I wish I could be as adventurous! Peace out! Christian K, NYS.
