Hi Matthew. I was wondering just where you guys went since you all drove for hours to meet up. Cool that you continue to make memories outside. While I have winter camped but never in the conditions this trip involved. I like that everyone had a duty splitting up the work well. You made it! I am a weak winter camper. I check out the weather and try to hit camp when the low is only 30. Of course there are always surprises. I love the igloo and art work. Food was looking great. I like how you each brought a dish to cook. I am glad I discovered you last winter. Wish you would continue your videotaping but watching this all I have realized how much work it involves. Thanks for taking us along.
This has to be my favorite video of yours, even though the Monty was missing! But awesome scenery and shots, your friends are so funny and nice, the barking censorship, the great cooking, the cozyness.. thanks so much for that video, this makes me feel so good.
Love it! Nice job documenting your adventures. I love that at 2:12:30. “At this point I no longer know what I’m doing.” I totally related! I winter camped with my friend and brother several years ago. 4 days/3 nights. Not as cold as your trip. 0-F day highs, and -20-F at night. No hot tent, only a open faced lean to tarp. We dug three feet of snow to the ground so our side walls were made of snow. We used pine boughs on the floor for warmth. It made me a more resilient man. Now I’m addicted and love the cold. I started swimming in ice water with a friend and never feel more alive! Better than any drug!
"WE got an early start today" People who have been following Matthew for years: "Wait what?! Hell DID freeze over, thats why its so cold on that trip" lol
This trip was very interesting. I like your friends. Jake seems to be more relaxed now. Thats super cool. As many times as I have heard you say "Oh thats hot!" I would think you might cool things down a second before inhaling them by now. mmmm maybe not.... Great video Matt. Thanks.

Growing up in Bend, Oregon, winter Temps were Cold...or colder! Snow every winter, at least four to five+ feet. The closest I got to digging in the snow was a two-day blizzard that left us housebound until my dad dug us out from the front door! That was the day Mom gave us small shovel spoons, dressed us until we walked like snowmen and told us to make tunnels in the yard. We did. Plus small rooms so we could drink our hot chocolate together. Best couple of snow days, ever. Thanks for the memories! Keep going!
Bless you Matthew, got this uploaded for us bang on 10am, am going to watch it now, thanks for all your hard work & thank you for replying to my last message, much appreciated. Have a lovely Sunday, love to you and Funk 😘😘
Thanks for reminding me that life is an adventure full of trying new experiences which evolve the expected and unexpected, comforts and discomforts, times for hard work and times for relaxation, and with a sense of humor, enthusiasm, all of life's challenges become a joy and a thrill to take on and overcome. There is never a dull moment.
This is hands down the best channel on YT , Nothing i like more than supping on a morning coffee next thing its 3 hours later , so wholesome and great content continuously , the first night it got serious quickly towards the end was slightly worried 😂 ruge and monty would love it there , ( far too cold for the timeframe you guys have gone for ) all that stickthrowing would warm You guys up ! Stay frosty ☃️
Lived 20yrs above the Arctic circle. We determined temp by how much your body cried out in pain. Nostrils burn when you breath in -10. When it starts freezing and getting stiff, hands and legs sting a little -20. -30 scarf, mask, hat start freezing to your skin. The pain in your teeth and any fillings is horrible. Bone ache from any old injuries. The -40 all exposed skin burns just from the exposure. Coldest I’ve seen -65F with a -80F windchill. You take cover with a heat source and don’t go outside. Here outdoor school recess for kids is up to -21F. School does not close for temperature till windchills reach -65F. I would not have done this trek without a snow go. (Snow machine) if you have an emergency this far out on foot you are screwed.
Love your videos. First day was a little reckless guys. Exhausted from the hike in and setting up camp in the dark in -30! Any little thing goes wrong and you are at serious risk! Stay safe and keep videos coming!

This was one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time. I love camping hiking and felt like I was with you guys on the trip. I learned a lot about winter camping.
During my 330 day stay at the military service in northern Finland I had a taste - or my fair share - of this kind of 'fun'. Yet it feels like I really want to experience this stuff again after the 20 years that have passed, but on the other hand I'm so f-ing relieved I can just enjoy this watching it at home with some stew in the oven and the spouse sleeping and warming the bed next room.
Matthew thanks for your great videos.2 years ago I wanted to watch some kind of camping video and came across yours and now I got my daughter to watch the videos and we love seeing your dogs too. Take care!
I appreciate so much the constant temperature conversions even while you're checking the thermometer haha. Really nice to watch and not have to constantly convert. Chilly out there! Good job
Finally at the end of the video I think my favorite parts were the recordings of the flowing water, it was so beautiful and peaceful to listen to! I'm glad you all survived the first night and also if you ever camp in this cold temps again they sell frozen garlic at some grocery stores lol or veggies 😂
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun ! My personal best is -26 plus wind chill ... might have been -32 Celsius . I just love the fact.that there's no Skeeter and black flies , and don't need coolers 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wow I can’t believe I finished this whole thing, I’ve just been playing Minecraft and taking breaks when funny stuff happens. I love camping and when I can’t camp I love to watch other people do it! You are a great personality and so are your friends. I’m not gonna watch anymore tonight just cause I watched an entire hobbit movie of camping. I will definitely watch your other videos and I have subscribed. Thank you so much for putting this together. I also can relate to when you were so cold all you kept talking abkit was how damn cold it was, I slept in a redwood needle makeshift blanket in a cave near a riverbed. All the wood was wet so I could only make a small fire. It was great to be out with the elements and the sound of the running water echoing through the cave was a magical experience even though it had to be 20 degrees. I hope you’re having a good day and honestly I hope you’re not reading this because this was pretty long and I bet you get lots of these messages:). - a happy subscriber

I've been really sick the last few days and these videos are so relaxing to watch when you're not feeling good. Love the dogs, they're so cute. Thanks for the great channel
*Devours food right off the stove*
"It's HOT!"
"It's steaming, no shit Posa"
Hahaha !!
Yeah it sounded like it too . Maybe he thought the others were going to steal his food. He hoover eats .
🤣😂🤣I know!!!
In his defense, anything above freezing when its that cold will steam...
Warmer hot tent
- Tent liner takes up very little space and weighs little.
- a carpet of evergreens or a fleece blanket on the ground.
Thanks for your videos Matt, I struggle bad with mental health and they help me lots.
Happy to help!
It's wonderful how the three of you enjoy each others company. You work so well with each other. It's pleasantly apparent how everyone appreciates the contributations and talents each individual offers to the team. That ensures safety and well being for each other in these severe temperatures and challenges. Great team work. Great video.
Unbelievable.
That was fantastic really enjoyed the 3hrs.
Thanks for letting me be part of this.
You're welcome!
Was it a little nippy Matt? OMG, I can't believe you didn't cancel the trip with those temps! But you can now say you did it....your hot tent is awesome. Thank you for showing us the puppies when you got home! Love those fur babies.....hope you have a great week thawing out now Matt =))))
Oh a tid bit nipply!
I've seen hikes up Everest that looked warmer than this
You've seen hikes up Everest that WERE warmer than this. 😉
This is great fun to watch. You guys are the coolest. Watching you cook, I was like, "Has he been reading my own recipe books?" I call it instinctual cooking.
It blows my mind how much I enjoy every part of these videos..... But then watching you or the dogs eat is enough to make me leave the room
Sometimes when I'm sad I watch your intro because it makes me laugh hysterically!
:O
That was a compliment BTW❤
The shovel throw at the end is my favorite
Same! I laugh every time I watch it!
The mud in the camera and him saying"all up in there" with the taco!😂😂😂
"I stuck my pole in three different holes, and I have had no luck so far"- Mathew Posa 2021
HA!
LMAO!
Lmao...it happens 😹😂
I am so relieved I’m not the only one to catch that 🤣 #gutter24/7 💁♀️
I tried really hard not to giggle, I lost the battle, proving once again that my brain is still in Jr High!
You're welcome!
WOW!!!!! I haven't even finished my morning coffee and Mathew Posa's video is posted. Awesome, cant wait to watch a sunday matinee. ✌
:D
You guys were so well organized you made surviving in sub zero weather look like a day at the beach very educational
"WE got an early start today"
People who have been following Matthew for years: "Wait what?!
Thanks.
Huh, Monty and Roogs looking funny today...
I think they let their fur grow out. Did you see how long those two beasts had it? Dogs are wonderful things.
Yo dudes...
Where have you been all my life? LoL.
Just stumbled upon one of your videos and i Subscribed instantly!!! This video is AWESOME (AMAZINGLY DONE) Just everything about it was brilliant. You've had me laughing throughout. I'm glad you left the snow "fort" up!
Thumbs up from the UK 👍
About to binge on more of your vids.
💋
Watched this 5 minutes after it went up.....been waiting!!! First 5 minutes was LMAO! Looked like Ruger missed you and Monty was still mad at you for not taking him. LOL.
:D
"I got something right now, that money can't buy, and no one gets to own, and it's a awesome feeling" -
Matthew Posa 👌 lol
I have had the BEST WEEK watching you and your buddies! You and your fur babies just enjoy nature!!! I’ve been cooped up with Covid but it’s been a BLAST! You Canadians are so cool! Thanks for tha laughs and the education!
Granny from GA USA
Growing up in Bend, Oregon, winter Temps were Cold...or colder! Snow every winter, at least four to five+ feet. The closest I got to digging in the snow was a two-day blizzard that left us housebound until my dad dug us out from the front door! That was the day Mom gave us small shovel spoons, dressed us until we walked like snowmen and told us to make tunnels in the yard. We did. Plus small rooms so we could drink our hot chocolate together. Best couple of snow days, ever.
Thanks for the memories! Keep going!
In finland when you step on the snow and it squeaks, we call it "saatanan kylmä".
So that's where youve been hiding...OSAMA!!!
🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤣🤣
💀💀💀
@Duumee Fowoonee loool
Ken is awesome, always active and so creative! Hope he will be part of future camping trips again.
I can literally watch these over and over and over and over and over and not get tired of it.
Edit: And over again
I watch this more often than you should. Just reminds me of camping with pals and the stuff you go through and the banter along the way. Priceless
I found the little flashes of Monty and his bark throughout this video very soothing. Thanks Matthew for another great video.
That looked like Elmer Fudd chasing the wabit! Cool show! Great cartoon!
Hahaha!
Matthew: We are going winter camping"
Mother Nature: "Oh y'all think I'm playing? Bet." Lol
me: woodstove is on, dinner was good, pups are sleeping, watching this video........wondering................matthew.....w.h.y. WHY.
Not sure how we missed this one months ago, but we laughed our way through this. Best ever!
That bag of candy is just as big as my stash. You and I would get along so well!!! Love the brotherhood.
Baileys and coffee. We literally refer to that as “camping coffee” - we have to have our Baileys with our coffee when camping 😛
Bless you Matthew, got this uploaded for us bang on 10am, am going to watch it now, thanks for all your hard work & thank you for replying to my last message, much appreciated. Have a lovely Sunday, love to you and Funk 😘😘
:D
Thanks for reminding me that life is an adventure full of trying new experiences which evolve the expected and unexpected, comforts and discomforts, times for hard work and times for relaxation, and with a sense of humor, enthusiasm, all of life's challenges become a joy and a thrill to take on and overcome. There is never a dull moment.
Survival TH-cam channels:”I just camped in single digit temps!”
Matthew:”hold my beer” 😂
He'd hold his own beer actually while doing it lmao
@@olivedinuss8564 you’re probably right lmao
I believe you mean “freeze my beer”
I can only watch this on TH-cam as I would never be able to do this, thanks for letting me live vicariously through you
I'm an old guy and I agree. Even when I was younger my hiking and camping was summer and fall. So I really enjoyed this. Did miss the dogs though.
This is hands down the best channel on YT ,
Nothing i like more than supping on a morning coffee next thing its 3 hours later , so wholesome and great content continuously , the first night it got serious quickly towards the end was slightly worried 😂 ruge and monty would love it there , ( far too cold for the timeframe you guys have gone for ) all that stickthrowing would warm
You guys up ! Stay frosty ☃️
I subscribed and liked at the, "Oh yeah". 🤣
(Snow machine) if you have an emergency this far out on foot you are screwed.
nothing makes food look or taste better than campfire smoke, good friends, and an ice cold beer. Great trip Matt and friends. Stay safe out there!! ♥
:D
Love your videos. First day was a little reckless guys. Exhausted from the hike in and setting up camp in the dark in -30! Any little thing goes wrong and you are at serious risk! Stay safe and keep videos coming!
Greetings from the UK. What an outstanding and inspirational video. I’m a big fan of this kind of content and my favourite is Jon from Lost Lakes. I guess until now! I am disabled and can only dream of such activities, but you make the viewer feel that they are right there with you. The greatest of respect to you. You’ve earned yourself another subscriber.
I like Jon from LL also. Jon camps where I grew up so it's pretty nostalgic watching him.
The long shot of the river with the bubbles going under the ice was truly memorizing. What a wonderful trip !
You inspired us to try snow camping, this year we had to deal with cold nights. Down to 7 Fahrenheit at night, and we are old - 47 & 56!
This was one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time. I love camping hiking and felt like I was with you guys on the trip. I learned a lot about winter camping.
I’m a 60 yr ole Gal and I absolutely love watching your videos!! Thank You for sharing!! Always a joy!!🥰
Mathew I raise my glass to you Monte and Rugged.Best 2 hours of my day.Thank you
:D
I love your channel but clearly you are a maniac to be out in that. You were so smart to leave Monte home.
It got a tid bit nipply.
:D
dude, I just want to say, your camera work is becoming A1 *chiefs kiss*
thanks for the extra hard work of walking back to get those shots. lol
:D
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun ! My personal best is -26 plus wind chill ... might have been -32 Celsius . I just love the fact.that there's no Skeeter and black flies , and don't need coolers 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦
Good morning all !!!
Tappadamarnintoya!
After 6 days, your dogs are like "he's back from the DEAD!"
That's daring to sleep in a cave not knowing what dwheels there, spooky.
Keep that happy fire burning within brother.
