The security guard who brushed off the kid who tried to report someone injured in the bathroom needs to be fired, what the hell is your job if not to assist kids in staying safe?
I might get hate for this but I understand where the guard is coming from, this is middle school and kids tend to prank or disrespect people that are in charge or protect the school so the guard could have just been used to these kids playing these type of games but he checked the bathroom after he saw the panic on the kids face.
@@jazzyLee573 Here's the thing though, it doesn't matter. Caring about the health and well-being of children they're charged with protecting should always come first, far above 'getting back at pranksters'.
My main issue is with the security guard who completely disregarded the student who told him someone was bleeding in the bathroom. How the hell do you just brush something like that off and not even go check? Even if it’s a paper cut you still need to go see what’s going on cause kids don’t just say that.
I disagree with your second part, young boys are known to say obnoxious/ridiculous stuff just for the hell of it. But regardless you're right; the fact that the security guard didn't even bother to check, especially since it's his job, is ridiculous.
To be fair, if I was told someone was bleeding in the school restroom I would think that it was someone with a bloody nose. My 14 years get nose bleeds so easy it's ridiculous. It would have elicited a different response if they said someone was unconscious or lying of the floor in their blood. Specificity matters but yes it would have been best if the guard checked anyway.
Probably the same reason cops stood around doing nothing while kids where being massacred in Texas, or when another school security guard in Florida ran away while the students he was hired to protect were being killed. The barrel of apples rotted a long time ago.
Imagine Michael’s mothers reaction after learning that the latex gloves she purchased for her son were not needed for extra credit, but instead for premeditated murder.
That..... was exactly what I was going to write. I was shook for a minute when I saw this comment. And yes I completely agree, sitting there listening to a 14 year old explain his crimes in heinous details must have been very hard on the Investigators.
I bet the detective was thinking ""WTF happened to this boy?? Why he is so evil and heartless??"" and was speechless but still had to do his job to interrogate
Horrible. Just Plain Evilness. This 14 year old killer needs to be put to death ☠️ and just like him we won’t know why Society killed him, oh that’s right because you’re a freaking killer.🫵🏽💩🫵🏽
It hard to believe he went along with this, knowing likely the his "friend" was nuts. We failed the killer as much as we failed the victim, because his life is over, and it just didnt have to be that way.

He also asked:"How did you accomplish that?" several times, and not: "How did you do that?"...as if the murder or attempted murder were accomplishments...which they were, of course, in the boys' mind.

Of course because for him this was like a party, like a special occasion, like a great adventure so he remembers every little detail as many psychopaths do.

This is heart breaking in the case of little Jaime. He truly looked like the most innocent, sweet kid, the kind of kid we all wanted as a friend in college. He trusted his friend so much that not even his sixth sense told him to not go in to the toilet, even if he felt he was going to be pranked or whatever. Rest in peace little boy 💔
It is absolutely terrifying how Michael remembered the exact times. He's paid special attention to all the details so he can relive the murder. A complete and utter psychopath.

@@skycloud4802 this interview is weird. The detective already knows the answers to the questions. He's leading him the entire way. If this was the initial interview how would he know about taking off his jewelry, the ring missing from his pocket, his intent to kill Andre the previous day?

Having worked in several federal prisons for 31 years, I used to always tell people that the huge, muscular inmates were rarely the ones one should be afraid of. This young dude is a perfect example of that. Guys like this don't have any interest in a face-to-face fist fight. They are cunning and have no problem coming up behind you and running steel through your neck. Dude's like this are the ones who are really, really dangerous.

Are we just going to accept this without questioning how someone can become morbidly obese and die in prison? Did convicts watch his interrogation and keep on his good side by giving him all their pudding? Did guards sneak him plates of bacon and cheesecake, and let him sleep instead of exercise?
@@michaelscott-joynt3215 guards don't make you exercise. They really don't care what you do as long as you don't cause trouble. A lot of people gain weight in jail and prison because eating and sleeping are about the only things to do.
This is a dream interview for those of us who are interested in the psychology of murderers. This detective has excellent interview skills. So many do not. And so many detectives don’t ask questions pertaining to their mindset. I literally ruminate for days over simple things like if I’m unintentionally a little short with someone. And there are people walking around who murdered someone the night before and then went home, ate dinner, brushed their teeth, and went to bed. Like, how?!? I just discovered the series Signs of a Psychopath and the episode on this guy was so enlightening.
@A2-mp5jbshe said she’s interested in the PSYCHOLOGY of murderers 🤦🏼♀️which many of us are, not bc we are MURDERERS ourselves but the whole “how can someone do this?” aspect of it. This entire channel is based off of psychological evaluations of experts

Young boys love playing with knives so that’s not a big red flag. If he was using them to cut up animals or do other stuff maybe, but having knives to whittle sticks or help with fishing is normal young man behavior
What kills me most, is that Jaime seemed like a pretty sweet kid. The photos of him smiling, may give you a glimpse into his personality, as well as his willingness to do things that other people might consider strange, because he was a trusting soul.
I was around his age when I legit tried to kill someone. Fortunately, it didn't work. I had no plan, no story worked out. I was just mad. And totally oblivious to how big a deal it would have been. For anyone curious about the circumstances, my parents had adopted a child and my whole world went to shit. She was about 6 years younger than me. One day I totally lost my temper and tried to smother her with a pillow. She fought like a wildcat, and it wasn't as fast and easy as in the movies. To this day, I don't think she knows I was trying to kill her that day. I really don't think kids at that age can really grasp the seriousness of violent crime. This kid reminds me of that guy who killed his college classmate for no reason. His psychologist said out of his 200 cases, he was the most dangerous. Not just Jaime, but Andre as well, and the parents of Michael. I can't imagine as a mother listening to my child talk like this. I also feel for the poor stenographer that had to sit there and record all of this. How did that investigator stay so "matter-of-fact"? I'll bet off camera and outside the room he lost it.
You'd be surprised to hear that in a statement by the parents they said they felt sorrow for Michael's parents because the mother knew what it was like to lose a child and offered remorse to them.
I needed better questions from the investigator about his state of mind and his justifications. This was very different from other interrogations I’ve seen.
Looking at the case photos you can draw lines as to how this kid was so deranged. Likely the parents didn't take responsibility of his upbringing and wasn't taught right/wrong. All the crime/horror books and movies he had and a TV at his bedside. Might've been the root where he got obsessed about violence/gore. Unfortunately we won't know, but it'd be interesting to learn more.
He probably had a belief that the weak don't deserve to live, and that he was given the role of Arbiter. I won't pretend I understand how everyone's mind works but when he said he doesn't think it's right or wrong it means that he read a lot of things, probably nihilistic texts that shaped his beliefs. However there's also a lack of emotion or rationality there if you plan on acting on these beliefs. Every person has personal beliefs but they don't act on them, he also had no life preservation instinct meaning that he didn't value his life at all and that makes me think he was a nihilist.
@@MementoMoriGrizzlyI don't think this had anything to do with nihilism, or anything you could read, or any type of belief at all. This is the result of a very damaged or malformed brain. Man this is tragic. At the same time people are just... incredible how on earth could he think like that? Id like to see more of a psychological explanation and interviews with this guy.
Not only think like that, but also think he could get away with it. Murdering someone in a school with so many ppl around. its not like something simple like hiding a marijuana joint on your person.
The scary part about this young man and about this case is recognizing that there are most likely other unrecognizable individuals who walk among us on a daily basis. 😓
Unrecognizable? He was a bully who collect ed knives and fantasized about killing his sister. It would have been easily recognized that he was dangerous if anyone paid attention to that part of his life.
I wouldn't see my son never again ...but this piece of shit wouldn't receive a visit to jail from he's parents.....if this was my case. Just get your own conclusion people.
There sure was shock, but I don't think Jamie was much surprised. Reason for that is I had a kid in the neighborhood that had similar traits. No matter who he played with, at the end of the day he enjoyed it to hurt and torture them in some or the other way. Even though he was friend to me, my guards were always up when he was nearby and I would not have been surprised if he turned against me.

Imagine being Andre, celebrating Michael's birthday, meeting up with him etc. just to find out from this interrogation that he was going to kill you. Jesus Christ, that gave me chills man.
17:35 "Which was a lie." was somehow the thing that chilled me to the core during his confession. Usually suspects who are caught try to make themselves sound less guilty; for example, some admit they injured the victim but didn't measure their strength/notice that they were actually hurt. Instead, he was really telling the detective "I made no mistake, I knew I was doing this."
That’s usually a sign of psychopathy or severe mental health issues if they don’t try to get away with it or they talk about it as if they’re telling a normal story

I am speechless. I can’t imagine how Andre’ must have felt when he was told he was the original target. I would really like to know are people born as sadistic monsters or are they made? Jamie looked like such a sweet boy, he was too trusting. RIP
I’ve read in the book “Behave” that psychopaths and sociopaths have deformities in their brains, and they are unable to have a “normal” response to stressful situations because their brains can’t produce the stress hormones.
Both. Psychopaths are born as sadists, people with a narcissistic personality disorder f.e. developing it. Cause part of NPD is sadism. So. U can be born with it & u can developing it. 🤷♀️
Both true, I believe. Some people have defects physically from birth, why not mentally ? Bad brains, poor wiring, psychopathy. An incomplete brain will show signs of aberrant behavior, but adults have to notice & acknowledge it, then get the child treatment. Other times it's abuse, of various kinds, that cause a mind to split into paths of aberrant behavior as a way of dealing with the abuse that the child doesn't know how to properly deal with. Some monsters are born, some are created.
They should start integorating all the kids and teens that abuse, torture and kill animals because too many serial killers have started with abusing animals.
As someone who is currently going to Southwood, we have a memorial for Jamie near the teachers parking lot where I suspect the 3 8th graders hang out everyday and the street in front of the teacher’s parking lot was named “Jamie Gough”, this school, to this day, has so much respect for Jamie
7:08 It was his birthday?! That can't be a coincidence. Was killing his poor friend a gift to himself? Jamie's poor parents had to have been devastated to learn of their son's murder and the lack of reasoning behind it. To know it was a "friend" he trusted and there was nothing he could have done to prevent it because neither him or anyone could have seen this coming. Michael's parents were probably decimated by their son's cruel and cold act of murder that he just decided he wanted to do for no reason that even he could think of.
It wasn’t his actual birthday. He simply noted he just turned 14. Meaning fairly recently he turned 14. Edit: nvm it was close enough. His birthday was the day before. He wanted to do it on his birthday but didn’t get opportunity for Andre. So he planned for Jaime the next day.

I agree that he would have killed again if not caught. I think he’s psychopath, though. They are born, and even though there are genetics involved that lead to some families having more psychopathic traits, I don’t believe his parents “made” him like this. Psychopaths have different neurological “wiring” and lack some capacities of non-psychopaths (empathy primarily), and they can happen “randomly” in families.
I can’t imagine the horror the boys parents and family felt when hearing what had happened to their baby and then this! it really is sickening, knowing this was your son’s supposed friend just makes it even more horrifying! The lack of remorse in this boys confession is beyond scary. My heart goes out to the victims family and all who loved him 😢
The most terrifying thing for me is the fact that you send your child to school, where he supposedly will be safe and care for, and then he is killed by another child like him from the school, and on top of that his friend. That’s something truly terrifying.
@@cristinaaristizabal9882 it could have, or could happen, to anyone anywhere. It has happened to people on the bus, on the street, in the mall (or any other store), or even at work or in our own homes. What makes this so horrible is that Jamie was one of his closest friends. Jamie trusted him, as did Andre. Thankfully, Andre escaped the same fate. Michael obviously was the one in control of the friendships and he likely chose friends he could control. The day before when Andre refused to do what he wanted, Michael decided he should probably forego his plans for Andre. To me, the most horrifying thing is there were obvious signs he had some issues and they were ignored. And if he was showing signs at school, he was certainly showing more at home, where he was more comfortable. I’m wondering why/how the parents did not notice and intervene in some manner; counseling at the very least.
I think it's more scary that anyone could do something like this for no more of a profound reason then they just felt like it (although it's mentioned that he wrote that he wanted to cleanse the world of people). This guy was obviously off his rocker in addition to having no remorse. In short, just because someone generally acts sane doesn't necessarily means they are. ... That's the real scary part.
@@lawshorizon This essentially describes psychopaths, and yeah, they're scary. Psychopaths are great at putting on a sane facade, however there are cracks in that facade as made evidently clear by Andre not going into the stall. Andre had an intuition that something was up and saved his own life. Unfortunately, most killers don't prey on their friends/have any, and you won't get a chance to figure out if they're sane before they slit your throat. Stay safe out there boys and girls
@@n0steeze ... Well, the guy had been previously poking people with a screwdriver. Andre likely knew this and thought he was playing some kind of harmful bad joke (like dunking Andre's head in the toilet or something), but I doubt that Andre considered murder. Anyway, psychos can have friends (like Charles Manson) but their friendships generally don't last very long. In any case, it's a fact that if you're going to be murdered then it's likely by someone you know.
The security guard who brushed off the kid who tried to report someone injured in the bathroom needs to be fired, what the hell is your job if not to assist kids in staying safe?
Things like that put me in a frothing rage, and unfortunately it's more common than it's not.
It's so annoying, so many people will never do their jobs until something like this happens, and then it's too late.
Yeah this disturbed me too. I belt he felt like crap when the boys came running out and decided to check then; and found what he found.
Yeah and even if they did say it everyday he should go and check anyway bcs better safe then sorry.

And to think he wanted to do it to their other child, his sister
Well, kids with over achievements parents feel pressured that they’re worthless. Therefore, weakness opens for negative thoughts and actions; like him
That’s life 😂😂😂
Not just Jaime, but Andre as well, and the parents of Michael.
@@d-baneThis is not what bad parenting looks like. Not even close. No environment will produce this, except maybe the most extreme.

@@silencemeviolateme6076Damn. Your dad tried telling you not to lose your mind one day because your barbie got ruined, and here you are all these years later still holding a grudge over it.
Crying=vulnerability.
If people see you cry over something, they know that causes an emotional response. Emotional response=not thinking logcially=open to manipulation.
But no, go ahead and blame your daddy because he never explained it thoroughly to you, and you could never forgive him for just trying to get your mental breakdown behind closed doors.
Sad. For you I mean.

Props to this officer. I cant imagine this was easy to hear, especially so casually, from a kid. He kept his tone so evenly interested.
Why do you think Michael didn’t feel bad at all?
