Yes they should get medical attention. Treated innocent until proven guilty. Remember the interrogation of that innocent man who was shot in the eye. Interrogated for hours with a bullet in his brain. He ended up being proven innocent and lost eye sight in both eyes due to the amount of time it took him to receive medical treatment.
It doesn't matter what someone has done or not. They can't get themselves anything once in custody. Police cannot treat humans like trash. It doesn't matter if you or I don't like them. It's not ok to be like them and it's also illegal and a violation of human rights. Police violate rights ..basic human onesall the time and are killers themselves. It also could've gotten this case thrown out and a lawsuit
ehhh yea they should get medical treatment but, as far as this case goes, he was the abuser that kill two women cold heartily with a gun. By the looks, I doubt the women injured him. If anything, he complain more from a handcuff than all the damaged he did
💯%... safe wellbeing of the suspect is paramount... no matter the crime.. you have to keep personal judgement no matter how diabolical the crime is, out of the situation... these police officers didn't do that... complete wrong and determinate to the case and to the suspects mental and physical health
That live video of Sade saying she wasn’t going to make it to 25 gave me the chills. I’m so sad for Sade, the unborn child, and Sgt. Clayton. Also, this is the first time that I’ve seen an interrogation involving the death of a cop. I had no idea that cops placed hand cuffs of a fallen cop on a suspect. Great job covering this case.
Sade is such a beautiful girl, I really can't see what she saw in dude. And why young women like her who seem to be well educated and from an upstanding family, see in garbage like that. RIP Sade, beautiful baby, and officer Clayton.🌹✨
I had no idea either. It's as if the fallen officer is getting the arrest credit. Very cool! One around his neck for that innocent baby would also be fitting. Not to kill him, but he does deserve to be uncomfortable
As horrible as this sounds, guilty or innocent, a suspect should definitely be given medical treatment before interrogation. The Ryan Waller case is a prime example why.
What happened to Ryan Waller was horrible and should serve as a prime example to never judge a scene by the way it looks. Everyone in authority failed that day. There should have been folks fired and charged with negligence. That interrogation was so blatantly weird/bad. Pure negligence and apathy on what they already judged.
The reason you can't sleep is probably because you are watching videos late at night or before bed, turn your phone off 2 hours before you sleep and the problem will go away
Yes, those cops were fucked up, the one taking photos and taunting him should be fired. They take themselves so seriously, its like their entire identity. Very odd.
It’s almost as if someone they viewed as a sister was just murdered for just doing her job and they caught the killer who had been evading them after killing his own child and his girlfriend.
@Peppy Robo It doesn't matter. Once you put on that badge and swear an oath, you are to be and act as a professional. If you can't do that, find another job. Law enforcement isn't easy, and I don't think it should be. Be professional, be a servant.

At that point the appeal process should be denied and he should meet old sparky within the month.
To answer the question if a suspect should receive medical attention, I think yes. Otherwise you get insanely tragic cases such as Ryan Waller, who had a bullet in his head during a very long, callous interrogation (and who was INNOCENT). He died a few years later from the brain damage that would have been prevented from receiving immediate care.
Well obviously. But we have "medical attention" for a potentially life threatening wound, having those treated first. And we have "medical attention" of being looked over by EMT and concluding no life threatening injuries are present and then starting interrogation.
@@NoPantsBaby the problem is that the former cannot happen without the latter. If Ryan Waller had been taken care of by EMTs instead of being arrested on the spot and denied access to the ambulance/first responders that were there, we wouldn't be talking about his case at all.
I just heard of Ryan Wallers case😢. He died from having a seizure due to the brain damage and some of his brain having to be removed. Which could have very well been prevented. Very sad
@@jonny-b4954 you can't go around murderer interrogations, pick out the black ones, and call out their whole culture. You're getting your emotions involved. The biggest common theme in these videos in poverty, period.
There's no doubt that he's guilty, but denying him obviously necessary medical attention and his right to legal council calls the integrity of the entire investigation into question. Letting emotions dictate actions has the potential to hand criminals a 'get out of jail free card'.
@Stephen Edgecock I didn't say I was sympathetic. I said I didn't want him to walk away just because of a botched investigation. For some ppl red flags are more than obvious....but women have weird tastes about men,you like bad boys but you forget that bad boys have bad habbits and bad character.
I feel so bad for his son. He’s already too far gone. His only reaction to his fathers actions were essentially you gotta be smarter when killing people. Poor mama.
Saddest part for me was knowing his son is in jail (and seemed proud of his dad) and then seeing those women visiting him in jail and smiling and doting on him with a young child as well. They seemed almost proud of him despite the fact he killed two innocent women and an unborn child... the cycle will continue, and it serves no one
I think the mom isn't happy with the situation. Haven't finished the video but from the clips of the mom talking to the son she sounds so tired and so upset about the way her son has ended up. The son definitely didn't sound upset but I think he knows that neither of them are doing the right thing.

People in these comments dont seem to understand that the topic of allowing Markeith to get medical attention or talk to a lawyer ARENT people trying to say Markeith deserve sympathy or should be treated well. Its the fact that he could be set free by reason of mistrial. He could be given a lighter sentence due to the interrogation tactics shown in this video. We don’t think he should be coddled, what we DO think is that police and investigators arrogance gives this man a FREE PASS OUT OF JAIL. Get him a good enough lawyer and he would be out.
These are some of the worst most unprofessional detectives I've ever seen. Doesn't matter what his crime was they're supposed to keep their emotions in check and give everyone who walks in that room respect.
That man does not deserve respect. They didn’t do anything against the law. All their poor emotional control did was make him not cooperate in the interrogation, which they didn’t care about because they had enough evidence already. He took multiples lives. Why should anybody respect somebody who is that bad of a person? Why should they care that his hands are a little uncomfortable? Yall are crazy sympathizing with this psycho
People are supposed to do their job the RIGHT way no matter who they are dealing with. People excusing their behavior is why cops think they can kill people for sport. Just because a person is a criminal does not mean that the police can mistreat them. Where is that at in the law? But we see it all the time and when suspects end up dead at the hands of the police somebody ALWAYS comes out the woodwork and says "Oh...the police are allowed to do whatever they want if the person is a criminal". That is not in the law anywhere.

I also agree that medical attention should be given to everyone that's in custody. There was a young lady in butler county Ohio that was going through withdrawals. She complained of her symptoms and requested medical attention for days and was denied. She Died in her cell. It could've easily been avoided if the jailers cared to help. They didn't. Some cultures are so accustomed to criminal behavior that they just laugh it off and don't care. That is why you see certain areas in the country where crimes are unbelievably high. Those kinds of people don't care and don't scold those who do it, especially if they are friends or family. It's encouraged to rob, kill, assault, and sell drugs. In my humble, non expert opinion, the interrogators didn't have control from the start. They should've done things with normal, textbook procedure meaning getting medical attention, stopping the interrogation when he requested an attorney, etc. Not for the sake of Markeith but for the victims.
I humbly beg to differ. They should've done things with "normal, textbook procedure" because that is their job. They are neither the judge nor jury and shouldn't treat anyone differently based on the crime. That's what the court is for.

@@SugarCyanide-p8dwe have due process for a reason and honestly in situations like this those protocols protect law enforcement just as much because if they violate the accused rights they could mess up so bad they lose the whole case, confessions and interviews can be declared inadmissible in court. anytime rights are potentially violated and mistreatment happens, we need to call it out so that those is power do not get comfortable. if we let it go just because this guy is guilty , it gives a message that it’s okay. sort of like broken-window theory but for law enforcement

I agree with many comments in this chat. This man deserves the maximum sentence, but the police did not act professionally. I know all the facts, the emotions around the pain this monster caused, the loss of innocent life, but the police treated him like a beast and made him look like a victim to the media, which was wrong.
Exactly. The police don’t determine innocence or guilt. Everyone has a right to a trial and you are assumed innocent until found guilty. He lost a whole eye and could’ve been innocent the whole time. This is why people say the police are corrupt.
@@tracigannon3104 it's easy to think that because this man is clearly guilty, but it's not a good precedent to have police think they can get away with this. The police serve a much needed purpose but the way they're allowed to operate in this country, playing favorites with one another, sweeping crimes under the rug, profiling people, escalating situations, assaulting unarmed people, tackling 72 year old women with dementia, we need to hold them to a higher standard. If you think it's okay for them to act this way, you're justifying this behavior. What if it was an innocent person, wrong place wrong time, accused of something awful, and they beat them like this? I'm sure it has happened before..
This is one of the poorest attempts at an interrogation I've ever seen. The two detectives conducted themselves like rookies. I wouldn't be surprised if his case got thrown out because of the bumbling "law enforcement" in this case.
Zero sympathy for him but when you ask for a lawyer, that should have ended the interrogation. We have rules for a reason. Could you imagine how horrible it would be if he got out on a technicality because the cops didn't follow the rules?
He might actually get out on that technicality and a few others. Miami-Dade has been investigated many many times for practicing illegal tactics against alleged criminals
He did not definitively ask for a lawyer so that’s why this was legal. He said “I gotta talk to my lawyer…” not “ I’m not saying anything without my lawyer” or “I need a lawyer right now.” It has to be definitively spoken. Don’t have sympathy for this killer
I totally agree. The way they've treated him is in my opinion dispicable. I understand the pain and anger you'd feel towards someone who's killed a colleague and possibly a friend, but we have to be better than them. The rules are there for a reason, they seperate the cops from the bad guys. We can't sink to their level in any way. We have to be better.
i think watching his “family” or “friends” giggle on that phone call visit, about Sade being the one who was tripping, and joking about who would have hid him while he was in the run etc. and so on might have been the worse part for me. So long as people exist who think his behavior and actions are funny or normal or acceptable, we have a bigger problem. This man clearly has no respect for human life, at all. Nothing about him is ok, so i just find it so horrible that he has people who support him and think he’s just great. No he isn’t. He’s an evil psychopath. Pick better friends. Even his son said he was doing good until his dad got out of jail. You corrupted your own son, and killed your unborn daughter. You’re a real winner Markeith👌🏼 Mr. Worldwide.

An interesting question is raised about injuries. Obviously this guy is guilty, but there is a famous interrogation video out there; where an early to mid 20 male is being interrogation after he repeated told the detective he was shot in the face. The detective ignored this, telling the suspect he is fine. The detective had the suspect repeat his story 3 or 4 times; and every time he told the detective he was shot in the face by intruders. Finally about an hour in, the detective calls for medical, because the suspect was in fact one of the 3 victims. The other two victims where dead, and sadly the "suspect" sustain server brain that eventual lead to him passing away 10 years later. If someone needs medical attention, you get them medical attention. You might not even have the right person.
I remember that video on JCS… when the two cops finally leaned in noticing that tiny clotted bullet hole in the kid’s face/cheek right by his eye socket and looked at that poor kid they KNEW they had fucked up not getting him medical attention…that poor kid had said “I don’t know” and he was so clearly confused the whole interrogation and constantly fidgeting probably from the brain bleeding…it was sad…I remember the first seconds of me watching the video wondering if that spot I clearly saw, ON THE VIDEO, was a mole or injury or something and how they literally didn’t notice it across the table from him for an hour or longer..that poor kid could’ve had a brain bleed and bled to death subdurally in that time…wow.

The fact that these people talk about having revelations about eating no meat because we are all one with god and then proceed to shoot an ex-girlfriend carrying their child and her brother and a police officer is astounding. I have no words to describe the hypocrisy of him saying "these cuffs are killing me" when he had just killed a human or "smoking is bad for the child" when he was sleeping with his ex like that is good for the child. Some humans are just trash.
Maybe it would be better to have an outside agency, one that isn't emotionally attached to the case, brought in to interrogate these types of suspects. For the sake of all involved. This should be especially true if the suspect is caught and interrogated in the deceased officer's precinct.
@@TheGhostOfMichaelJackson No. Not let him go. Cool his heels in a jail cell until unbiased outside interrogators can come in to get the information they need.

I have no doubt that you have spent a considerable amount of time researching and considering this case and your commentary on the facts; your hard work has paid off in the quality of your output. Well done. Kind regards, Dominic D’Souza
Not really. There were several instances of editorializing that were not necessary. Like commenting that the guy may have been hallucinating when expressing his feeling about an epiphany about not eating meat. To me, it was a very sound conclusion and I did not interpret it as "hallucination " at all. I realize that it's very likely that this guy was a complete murdering moron. He did say some ridiculous statements like telling the other woman that he would be with her to raise this other woman, Sades baby. Etc. But to beat some senseless while in custody is criminal and these cops should be held accountable. And I'm saying this as someone who often condones vigilantism. But in this case I don't condone it.

The cops cost him his eye, that is not ok either. Maybe that is why they don’t respect the police either. The police should behave professionally and justly not no different then a criminal or a thug.
@Kai Yin Of course there's going to be bad police, they're not robots, they're people like me and you. I highly doubt that would have occurred if he had not brutally shot one of their own. Aside from him not getting the medical attention, he is making my blood boil. The deflections, lack of accountability, playing victim it’s just absolutely ridiculous.

I don't care if it's my family, if it is clearly proven that they murdered two people no way I'm trying to claim they are innocent. But you read his braindead FB posts and his even more braindead friends and family supporting him in comments. Bunch of dirt bags.
To me, it was counterproductive; they should've just stopped very early on! He definitely wasn't going to give them anything after they just ruffed him up.

While I agree that the police were very unprofessional and could have handled the whole thing a lot better, this guy has well and truly shown himself to be a monster and he deserved all he got. He can't treat people like that and then complain when he gets treated like that.
It's not the police's job to get emotionally invested and beat up the suspect, that's what court is for. Look, I doubt I'd be able to keep my composure when confronted by someone as awful as this guy, but that's why I wouldn't become a police officer. We should expect officers NOT to give into these urges to beat someone up and treat them like shit if they deem them unworthy of neutral treatment. He didn't "deserve" any of what the police did to him, they aren't the ones to dole out justice.

As interesting as this is, the interrogation should've stopped after he asked for an attorney. Doesn't everything he said after that point have a chance to get thrown out in court? Great point. It's not that anyone should cry for him due to his civil rights being ignored. They should cry at the obvious sloppy police egos that almost imploded this case and screwed the victims out of justice.
@@BeccaBoo I beg to differ. If there is no doubt about what happened, the civil rights are useless. In that case i think the person should get what is coming. I have a lot of thoughts/opinions regarding this. However, I'll only ask 1 question: if all officers took cases as seriously as those regarding "their own", how many more violent crimes would be solved? EDIT: Watching more of this...I don't think Markeith realizes how much those cameras protected him.

It's also how innocent ppl win lawsuits against police departments. I can personally attest to that. A lot of cops think they're the judge and jury and are in love with their power and authority. And some of them look to embarrass you before they even have the facts.

I agree and I also think it will prevent people from being able to dodge questioning by saying “I can’t talk because I’m in pain”

You and Freddy cautiously step out of your patrol car to approach the abandoned vehicle. You hear several loud bangs and turn to see Freddy on the ground. 3 shots to the body and one to the head, he died immediately. You take cover and call for backup, by then the shooter is long gone. Freddie is gone too. Bieng his patrol partner it’s down to you to tell his family. That night you knock on the door of his house, his wife answers.

EDIT: Watching more of this...I don't think Markeith realizes how much those cameras protected him.
If police took everything personal like the do when someone kills another cop, then they would live miserable lives. They need to separate themselves from the misery they encounter daily in order to stay sane
@@mprce52 then they shouldn’t be cops. As a public servant they are required to be upheld at a higher stander if they can’t do that
@@SerrotBelac they are taught to act that way. You can’t take the cases personal or you would be doing stuff like this every time. It’s just harder to separate when it’s ur friend
This interrogation kind of made me cringe. Their efforts to intimidate and reason with him were just so fruitless. I know they're passionate about getting justice, but it all just felt so full of frustration and some recklessness.
they kept interrupting eachother too, seemed like they were taking steps back every time they spoke
A lot of cops are dumb
They were not good at all. Like barking dogs than sneaky foxes.
I felt the same way…there might be too much emotion given that one of them lost their life but pretty poor interrogation
These cops making me so mad 😭😭 they’re acting like they don’t know what to do
I was surprised that officer Clayton had 17 years of service, she looked so young. RIP Officer Clayton
That shocked me too. And she was so pretty and seemed high spirited. May her soul be at peace.
Honestly though she was stupid for engaging on her own. She should have waited for backup and she would still be alive.
ah yes victim blaming @@yesacsamoht5394
@yesacsamoht5394 facts. She wanted to be a hero and known for arresting him and she got what she wanted tbh. U don't try to arrest a high lvl dangerous dude by urself. Stupid
Blk don’t crack
"ofc it was in florida..." - a floridian
but fr, thank you for putting so much effort and explaining this so well, thank you for critisizing both the criminals/suspects and the interrogaters/investigators
Treating people like this is how guilty people walk free.
honestly it feels like they didn't even need to interrogate him. there were witnesses who saw the events occur and in several states all you need is 3 witnesses of a violent crime in order to get the death penalty. they only hurt their case against Markeith by violating his rights this way.
they could have sat back, said nothing, and had him put away for life.
Except he didn’t get off. He was sentenced to death.
you been to jail ain't ya?
It's also how innocent ppl win lawsuits against police departments. I can personally attest to that. A lot of cops think they're the judge and jury and are in love with their power and authority. And some of them look to embarrass you before they even have the facts.
@@italian1ist except people have gotten off because the police did this to them.
The interrogators got very emotionally involved and this was hard to watch at certain points. This man does not deserve sympathy or mercy but these two let their feelings too far into this
Man up. Worst shit happens to innocent people
@@-a866 please do not seek a law enforcement career. Their jobs are NOT to mete out punishment or justice like this and often it creates a worse situation than necessary. If you can't keep that in check, don't be a cop bc people with attitudes like this one are the reason the police force has so many issues now
@@scandisnowgirl3696 I would never be a law enforcer. The job pays practically nothing, however this man killed that girl. Why do you people care?
@@-a866 bc without it, no one gets justice. Police can create issues in court cases by doing these things where a perpetrator walks free. They cost taxpayers untold amounts of money AND puts the public in danger. Cops do not serve justice, the people do, and ALL citizens get that right, without that the US has no justice
100% the police acted outside the law in beating him when they made the arrest, but I really can't think of anywhere else they wouldn't have just killed him, and this is bodycams working. Conveniently the batteries die when the cops throw someone an illegal beating.
I think this guy deserves a lot worse than he got, but that's just my opinion. I see they have him on suicide watch with the green smock that he was wearing in court, maybe he will do everyone a favor.
Hadn't heard this case, but so glad you guys brought it up today with solid examination and commentary. Bless Sade's and the Officer's families and thank you for all you all do!
He asked for a lawyer several times and they ignored him
So?
