There is nothing wrong with having a lot of sexual partners before marriage. In order for behavior to be immoral it needs to have negative effect on society. If everyone has a lot of sexual partners before marriage and uses contraceptives there are no unwanted pregnancies there is no spreading of diseases there is no negative effect on society. Therefore, having a lot of sexual partners before marriage is not wrong. Therefore, having sex without even thinking about marriage is not wrong. The only way to think otherwise is to be brainwashed and manipulated. As for women smoking cigarettes, smoking cigarettes is equally bad for men and women. There is no reason it should be viewed worse for women than it is for men. People back then had the irrational and objectively wrong opinion that smoking cigarettes would make women like prostitutes because back then high percentage of women smokers were prostitutes. Making people believe that smoking makes people prostitutes is exactly the kind of manipulation of irrational masses that he talked about. Behavior is not bad if people that engage in other bad behavior do it. Behavior is bad if and only if it has negative effect on society in the event of it becoming widespread or if it hurts others. Besides that, the argument that smoking is something that mostly prostitutes did therefore it is bad is invalid because it is no different than saying "eating breakfast makes women like prostitutes because most prostitutes eat breakfast". If most women start smoking (which became true in the 20th century) than smoking is no longer any more prevalent among prostitutes than among general population, so saying that smoking is something that is disproportionately done by prostitutes isn't even true in the event of smoking becoming widespread. But again, this is redundant part of the argument, the main point is behavior is bad if in the event of it becoming widespread it has negative effect on society or hurts others, whether behavior is done by people who do other bad things is irrelevant.
