  • “Zelensky’s attack was launched in ignorance of the West. The West policy of non-escalation, of not provoking Putin, has failed.”
“Zelensky is now in the driving seat” as Ukraine claims to maintain control of 1000 square kilometres of Russian territory, says military historian & analyst Peter Caddick-Adams.

Sadly, We need the Ukraine High Command to come give the Pentagon some lessons. The US has simply played at wars since the First Gulf War. I would know, I was in before and after, and that is the main reason the US Military ( though still huge and fairly good ) is getting weaker by the day.

@@americanpatriot4227 I cant remember who said but it is true that it is the duty of any commander to bring down the maximum violence on the enemy. Because, it ends the futility of war quicker. Half arsed and limited war just lasts longer, cost more in treasure and dead people. I often wonder when our politicians will grasp the consequences of their actions?

@@americanpatriot4227 You can't blame US though... Think about it, when was the last time, if ever, when US was forced to defend it's own territory? They are used to fight on territory of their allies or in enemy territory, where you are expected to lose some ground every now and then, but you don't have to worry about having your own territory under siege. It's still occupied enemy territory. It's not your civilians that are under attack, nor it is your land that is being destroyed. So abandoning few square kms of it is not hard choice, especially if there are added tactical benefits(like having second line of defense in place where they can retreat.
And Russia was exactly the same as Americans in this aspect. Russia used same tactic US employs in the world. They rolled in on "enemy territory" and Ukraine had to play defensively. But no war was ever won just by being on defense. Hoping to win war on your territory with nothing but defense, that is not winning, that is bleeding out slowly. Especially when you are facing enemy few time your size.

    Team Times 👊🏼
I see both sides, Russia and Ukraine, were fractious cousins for some time.
However, after speaking with many Ukrainians and quite a few Russians who left Russia a year ago, this has drastically changed.
For me, #Ukraine 🇺🇦 has already 'won' this war, when Russia, the second biggest army in the world, could not take Kyiv in 3 weeks. The rest is just a matter of time...
Similar to when the Kremlin occupied and oppressed Poland 🇵🇱 for fifty years, until eventually, the spirit of the people rose up with the Solidarity movement.
This contributed to the collapse of the Soviet regime. People are the REAL power! 💪🏼
What the Soviets sowed, they reaped...
    ⬇️
Unfortunately, Russia may have taken an unforseen path that could end up with the breakup of the Russian Federation, into smaller, independent states like Chechnya, Dagestan, Georgia, Tatastan etc.
Then China will also want to return Manchuria (Vladivostok), back under their state rule, with all it's resources and historical ties.
China is playing the long game.
As Russia becomes weaker, the Chinese get stronger...

It’s been a week into the Kursk invasion and Pooty Boy has done *nothing* - he won’t escalate because he *can’t* escalate anymore: he can’t use nukes because he’ll die too, he can’t issue a new mobilization because his war is already very unpopular and he doesn’t want a coup on his hands (he already had a coup attempt last year and won’t survive another) and he can’t call on foreign allies for aid because they are in the process of disassociating from him right now!
He’s cornered and he knows it - even if he pretends otherwise, he realizes that his time is running out and he’s looking for an exit.

    • @stevenhendrix4768
      @stevenhendrix4768 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

Yes his war is unpopular in Russia but don't expect the Russian population to do anything about it. Where is the liberal opposition in Russia now? Where is Kasparov to speak out against Putin? I'm telling you. Russians are not against the war they are against how the war is going for them!
If or when Putin goes down it will come from his inner circle or as it is called a palace revolution. Nobody knows who is going to be in charge next but imagine it is Medvedev for example that puches Putin out of a window. That is even worse. Regime change does not solve anything. They had tsars, They had sovjet commisars, now they have a bunch of kleptocrats with a maffia boss on top it never changes a single thing. Russia remains a continuous menace to it's neighbours. . A descisive militairy victory is needed for Ukraine only that can change the imperialistic arrogant mindset of invinsability and superiority of the Russian people. Then It will not happen overnight but over a few generations we can civilise the orcs..
Western leaders USA in particular gamble to much on regime change from the beginning. Putin is the symptome of the illness not the illness himself. Replacing him might work on the short term when the new leader blames everything on putin and signs a peacedeal but in 20 years when all this tragedy is forgotten in the minds of the Russian common man this new strong man of Russia will chalenge his neighbours again.

The struggle is on the defensive side - where the majority of the Russian imperialists’ forces are pressing them: on the offensive side the indigenous forces of Ukraine have the edge because there’s hardly any resistance (some conscripts, some Chechen mercs that folded quickly, some FSB or police units…) that can stand up to their onslaught - basically, the Russian strategy has turned their nation into a glass canon (they can hit pretty hard, but can’t take much punishment without folding).

Wow! Times Radio actually got a decent guest for once. Peter Caddick-Adams is a fine military historian. I enjoyed his books on '1945: Victory in the West' and 'Monte Cassino' and the Battle of the Bulge. As he says, it is pointless to speculate on Putin's succession plan - he cannot have one because that would undermine his power. The spiders will just get more frenetic and hungry in the jar.

NATO's "plan" for dealing with Russia is the same as most of the Western "plans" to deal with problems around the world. The centerpiece of the "plan" is the fervent hope that the problem will go away if the West does the absolute bare minimum in terms of activity. NATO's "plan" lives at the intersection of conservatism and timidity.

If the truth can be told, Germany and probably other EU states fear post war competition from Ukraine. Ditto Polish farmers and many others. Ukraine victorious would be a LARGE state with competitive advantages of large scale mining, vast agricultural areas, and a forward-thinking population, bye and large. So not all the foot dragging is high minded. You can see from this the concept of the European Union, as a union, is still being realized. NATO, if Ukraine were a member, could probably put to rest concerns about Russian hegemony. Contrarily, if Ukraine were to completely fall the Russian Federation would essentially be doubled in military capability and Europe would be relatively weaker. This has happened before and the result was catastrophic.

Nothing lost by the Kyiv pro ethnic Ukrainian government as only ethnic Russians are sent on such missions. Kyiv is headed by an ethnic Russian who considers himself to be a Jew. A thousand troops under the payroll of Kyiv have entered the Belgorod reason. Kyiv only sends soldiers on supposedly suicide missions who consider themselves to be ethnic Russians and Cossacks who are originally from Ukraine. Not to be outdone, Moscow spares the lives of ethnic Russians sent by the Kyiv government on suicide missions, and asks them to surrender. A ethnic Ukrainian is someone who kills prisoners of war sent in by Moscow in front of German mercenaries. . Kyiv was created out of Ottoman ruled areas in 1667 when the military base of the Ottoman empire was overrun by Cossack villagers of the suburbs around Kyiv. in 1667. In 1783, a nation was created by conquering the whole of present day Ukrainian was taken from Ottomans and created as a homeland for Cossacks the fiercely independent Russian clans of present day Ukraine.

And when that happens....Russia has a huge problem. Sooo....why would Ukraine ever retreat and go back into Ukraine!!!
