I wonder what British soldiers in WWII would have said had a journalist had interviewed them in the front-line? Ae there any such reports? No doubt there are problems because that's how it has ever been. I wonder about the value of this information. Most of us can imagine what it's like because no war has ever been played out in real time on social media.
I want to know what tf can be dine about it. Why are we discussing it as though it's a far off thing or making a sort of dramatic story from the misery. Why us tbere no outrage by the international community of the atrocities and innocent deaths caused by russia and why have we become inured to it?

The supply roads to Russia's western most front are near the southern and northern frontlines. Very vulnerable and long supply lines for an area that's not entrenched. It's frustrating to hear foreign journalists who believe what comes out of the mainstream media in the U.S. Regarding the holdup of U.S. aid to Ukraine, the journalist is correct in that part of the holdup was combining the Ukrainian aid bill with the Israeli aid. However, the biggest obstacle in passing the bill was attaching funding for U.S. border security to Ukrainian aid. The most important issues for Americans at the time were the economy and border security. Republicans presented several aid packages for Ukraine, which also contained funding for border security. Democrats refused to pass any of those bills or negotiate a compromise even though most Americans support border security and aid to Ukraine. After 6 months of delays, Republicans and Americans knew aid to Ukraine couldn't be delayed any longer. Republicans finally dropped their requirement of funds for border security in order to get Ukraine the needed aid. With hundreds of members, there may be a few Congressional members who could be sympathetic to Russia however, the idea that aid to Ukraine was held up by these people, if they existed, is ridiculous! If anyone is to blame it is the Democratic Party who let Ukrainians die for 6 months instead of working with Republicans on a resolution.

yeah independant sources tend to be lower than either side's claims, but russia's reporting is usually *wildly* out while ukraines is generally somewhere closer to reality - misreporting (intentionally and accidentally) of enemy casualties is pretty common in warfare generally, afaik.

Would Ukraine keeping the Kursk region, and maybe taking Bryansk be an acceptable trade for equal amounts of the Luhansk? This would expand Ukraine further north and west, closer to the EU. Kursk likely has a tougher climate. Still, Eastern Ukraine has been leveled and is full of mines, unexploded cluster bombs, etc. It's a difficult decision.
