Its crazy to think, that thanks to some random guy in 2012 who randomly decided to also make a video about few runs he got with his friends, made history 8 years later. Really shows how something small that happened a very long time ago, can have such a huge impact to the whole game. Thanks Prag!

The pyramids of Egypt fascinated travellers and conquerors in ancient times and continue to inspire wonder in the tourists, mathematicians, and archeologists who visit, explore, measure, and describe them. Tombs of early Egyptian kings were bench-shaped mounds called mastabas. Around 2780 BCE, King Djoser's architect, Imhotep, built the first pyramid by placing six mastabas, each smaller than the one beneath, in a stack to form a pyramid rising in steps. This Step Pyramid stands on the west bank of the Nile River at Sakkara near Memphis. Like later pyramids, it contains various rooms and passages, including the burial chamber of the king. The transition from the Step Pyramid to a true, smooth-sided pyramid took placed during the reign of King Snefru, founder of the Fourth Dynasty (2680-2560 BCE). At Medum, a step pyramid was built, then filled in with stone, and covered with a limestone casing. Nearby at Bahshur, construction was begun on a pyramid apparently planned to have smooth sides. About halfway up, however, the angle of incline decreases from over 51 degrees to about 43 degrees, and the sides rise less steeply, causing it to be known as the Bent Pyramid. The change in angle was probably made during construction to give the building more stability. Another great pyramid was built at Dahshur with its sides rising at an angle of somewhat over 43 degrees, resulting in a true, but squat looking pyramid. The largest and most famous of all the pyramids, the Great Pyramid at Giza, was commissioned by Snefru's son, Khufu, known also as Cheops, the later Greek form of his name. The pyramid's base covered over 13 acres and its sides rose at an angle of 51 degrees 52 minutes and were over 755 feet long. It originally stood over 481 feet high; today it is 450 feet high. Scientists estimate that its stone blocks average over two tons apiece, with the largest weighing as much as fifteen tons each. Two other major pyramids were built at Giza, for Khufu's son, King Khafre (Chephren), and a successor of Khafre, Menkaure (Mycerinus). Also located at Giza is the famous Sphinx, a massive statue of a lion with a human head, carved during the time of Khafre. Pyramids did not stand alone but were part of a group of buildings which included temples, chapels, other tombs, and massive walls. Remnants of funerary boats have also been excavated; the best preserved is at Giza. On the walls of Fifth and Sixth Dynasty pyramids are inscriptions known as the Pyramid Texts, an important source of information about Egyptian religion. The scarcity of ancient records, however, makes it difficult to be sure of the uses of all the buildings in the pyramid complex or the exact burial procedures. It is thought that the king's body was brought by boat up the Nile to the pyramid site and probably mummified in the Valley Temple before being placed in the pyramid for burial. There has been speculation about pyramid construction. Egyptians had copper tools such as chisels, drills, and saws that may have been used to cut the relatively soft stone. The hard granite, used for burial chamber walls and some of the exterior casing, would have posed a more difficult problem. Workmen may have used an abrasive powder, such as sand, with the drills and saws. Knowledge of astronomy was necessary to orient the pyramids to the cardinal points, and water-filled trenches probably were used to level the perimeter. A tomb painting of a colossal statue being moved shows how huge stone blocks were moved on sledges over ground first made slippery by liquid. The blocks were then brought up ramps to their positions in the pyramid. Finally, the outer layer of casing stones was finished from the top down and the ramps dismantled as the work was completed. Most of the stone for the Giza pyramids was quarried on the Giza plateau itself. Some of the limestone casing was brought from Tura, across the Nile, and a few of the rooms were cased with granite from Aswan. Marks of the quarry workers are found on several of the stone blocks giving names of the work gangs such as "craftman-gang". Part-time crews of laborers probably supplemented the year-round masons and other skilled workers. The Greek historian Heroditus reported in the fifth century BCE that his Egyptian guides told him 100,000 men were employed for three months a year for twenty years to build the Great Pyramid; modern estimates of the number of laborers tend to be much smaller. Pyramid building was at its height from the Fourth through the Sixth Dynasties. Smaller pyramids continued to be built for more than one thousand years. Scores of them have been discovered, but the remains of others are probably still buried under the sand. As it became clear that the pyramids did not provide protection for the mummified bodies of the kings but were obvious targets for grave robbers, later kings were buried in hidden tombs cut into rock cliffs. Although the magnificent pyramids did not protect the bodies of the Egyptian kings who built them, the pyramids have served to keep the names and stories of those kings alive to this day.

It says something about Nadeo that they were selective about which bugs to swat when they released the new Trackmania. Fixed: Landing bug - No one likes losing their speed because they happened to land just wrong. Rammstein bug - Mixed bag with that one; it can help in some situations but it's more harmful than good overall. Also, it would not have gone well with the Cup of the -Week- Day format the new game introduced. Left in: Bugslide - Doesn't harm anyone and it's fun to do, and is a way for skilled players to go fast. Uberbug - Even if the player got it by accident it's hilarious to see the car fly like that, and the alternative would be an ordinary crash.

Writual is staring forward. His vision piercing into the road, his jawline splitting atoms in the air that is filled with infinite tension. I am in his driver's seat, scared for my life. I never thought that the game Trackmania could become real. At least I am with him, my favourite streamer. "We need more speed" Wirtual says not taking his eyes off the road. "Twitch chat knows better. They always do. We need 350 speed, or we won't get across" he says. Wirtual resets. In an instant, we are teleported to the last checkpoint. "let's try again" he says now finally taking a look at me. "are you scared? You don't have to be. This ramp isn't my first speed check" he says calmly with a little smile is going over his face. I can't help but to smile back. Wirtual starts the engine again, the motor rumbling my seat, my bones. His eyes are fixated on the road again, as he builds up speed for another attempt. My heart hammered against my ribs as Wirtual launched us down the track. This time, the car seemed glued to the precise construction of the gray road blocks, him taking the curves with a precision that defied physics. We soared over jumps, narrowly missing walls, and the speedometer climbed towards the forbidden 350. My stomach lurched as we approached the notorious final ramp - a tight jump only possible with perfect driving, before a long, treacherous straightaway leading to the finish line. "Here we go," Wirtual muttered, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness. Light reflects of his face like it does off a precision cut diamond. He flicked the car with expert hands, taking the last corner before the ramp with a millimetre of clearance. A perfect speedslide accomplished by taking the most optimal outside line. The crowd in the Twitch chat, usually a cacophony of taunts and laughs, went silent. Even they were holding their breath. We blasted down over the ramp. Sounds from the wheels ripping up the road behind us go quiet. Wirtual is locked onto the steering wheel, while he gazes forward calculating your odds of survival. I feel myself lifting off of the seat. My belt locking me in. "Wirtual is here to protect me" I think to myself, now closing my eyes in fear. After what feels like hours, I start feeling the pull of gravity again. It's completely quiet, outside of erratic sputterings from the motor. We slam to the ground, shaking the car violently. cracking sounds are audible from all around. "Is this the wall, the road? Am I alive?" my thoughts start racing, my eyes still closed. The shaking is slowing down and the calming sound of the wheels is bringing me comfort. "We did it" says Wirtual in the most handsome voice. Distant cheering coming from the distance. I slowly open my eyes. The windshield in fromt of me has large cracks in it, but that doesn't matter. I am savely together with Wirtual on the final stretch of the race. "I need to show my true self to the doubters" Wirtual says. he hasn't acknowledged me for even a moment. I hear a sudden slam; Wirtuals muscular foot hits the gas pedal instantly bringing the engines into an uproar. the world blurring past. The finish line materialized, a red and white ribbon stretched across the track. Wirtual slammed on the gas now more than ever. He hasn't forgotten the final engine off block. Everything starts slowing down, as we hit it. The world starts making sense again to my shaken up mind. The car comes to a screeching halt just inches past the finish line. Silence. Then, the chat exploded. "WORLD RECORD!" spammed across the screen in a tidal wave of filled with spinning fish. Wirtual let out a sigh, a genuine smile finally breaking across his handsome face. He turned to me, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "See? I told you this ramp wasn't my first rodeo," he said with a wink. The pressure had drained from me, replaced by a giddy rush of exhilaration. We had done it. Against all odds, on a track designed to break even the best drivers, Wirtual had conquered it, etching his name Trackmania history. As the chat erupted in a frenzy of praise, I knew I wouldn't just remember this as a legendary stream - it would be the day I rode shotgun with a world record champion and future husband.

Thank you @Wirtual for making this kind of video again. I missed this so much. Please keep doing this every once in a while. Allways makes my day a bit more happy, seeing a trackmania documentary of yours in the morning.
TY.
Such a nice history lesson. I never really knew the story behind the bugs we know and love, and seeing the stories that I knew brings back such nice memories. :D
whoever picks the music for wirtual's channels has such good taste, I've heard stuff from the ender lilies ost on here and a ton of fox capture plan on the main channel, so good
I was in the "rewatching all of wirtual's videos" phase and you drop this THANK YOU
Amazing video with lovely writing and editing.
That outro song is just gorgeous, invokes a feeling of nostalgia and blissful peace.
song is called "En Aften Ved Svanefossen", its available on spotify.
@@stemki I found it using Shazam, but thank you. You'll hopefully help people looking for it. :)
I am just here to appreciate the editing of this well told Trackmania story. Very good!
May I ask you to update the "Wirtual Music List", please?
idk why tf im so hooked up on this i dont even play trackmania but every video ive watched from wirtual has always had me interested and amused, even though its a simple video game everyone can tell a story, but your storytelling and delivery is perfect even people who doesn't know or play games would be interested to watch, u have talent.
really cool vid bro. I liked all the references to past videos, makes me wanna rewatch them all
I was talking to an ant and a beetle outside. Neither of them had even heard of trackmania.
We as the Earth wanderers should be grateful that there are people like Wirtual that put so much heart into making fantastic pieces about beautiness of this game. Every great game deserves kings like Wirtual and I'm glad Trackmania has one.
Classic video. Great editing and great storytelling
And then, Wirtual dropped this banger
as soon as THE song kicks in i get goosebumps. Good video wirt as always
Amazing video! I loved going back through the history and seeing different eras of bughunting. This truly is a special game, I'm glad the devs embraced it!
Wirtual, your skill and finesse on the track is truly awe-inspiring, but it's your genuine passion and infectious enthusiasm that truly sets you apart. You don't just race, you create moments of pure exhilaration and joy for your audience. Your dedication to excellence and your ability to entertain make every stream an absolute delight to watch. Keep shining bright, Wirtual, the trackmania community is lucky to have you!
The quality just keeps getting better. Keep it up! :]
On 26:05 that “oh en dat einde!!” beautiful I love the Dutch
Thank you for these!! This is honestly my favorite type of content I watch the COTD TH-cam streams but I love the short documentaries the most I can just relax after a long day and really sink into these.
happy to see wirtual actually remembered this account existed
I really missed oldschool Wirtual videos. Thank you Wirt! Great upload!
Damn this video is exactly what i had in mind about a video i could make. The philosophy of bugs in video games, bugs that makes games so much better. I feel in love with Trackmania when watching Nino, just seeing this game I used to play being broken like that was amazing, and it definetly was the reason I still follow it to this day !
It says something about Nadeo that they were selective about which bugs to swat when they released the new Trackmania.
Fixed:
Landing bug - No one likes losing their speed because they happened to land just wrong.
Rammstein bug - Mixed bag with that one; it can help in some situations but it's more harmful than good overall. Also, it would not have gone well with the Cup of the -Week- Day format the new game introduced.
Left in:
Bugslide - Doesn't harm anyone and it's fun to do, and is a way for skilled players to go fast.
Uberbug - Even if the player got it by accident it's hilarious to see the car fly like that, and the alternative would be an ordinary crash.
@@MarsJenkarleft in : airbrake, side way airbrake (contersteer), drifts !, speeddrifts (and so all the wiggles), nosebugs, turtuling.
So much useful bugs left in
Love your writing, love your presentation, and I love how well Tristan001's 'signature theme' fits with moments of transcendent beauty.
Glad to see you post 3 vids in the last year
Music: on point, story telling: perfect, enjoyment: through the roof. I can’t wait for more main channel videos if this is the benchmark, well done
I love these trackmania documentary videos. Great work as usual!! 👍😎
These videos make me so nostalgic I miss playing this game so much time spent
17:41 "instead of becoming another indistinguishable racing game" me, instantly recognizing NFS Most Wanted: "Why Wirtual, whyyy?"
There's no Most Wanted in that footage. The middle one is Racedriver GRID and the bottom one is NFS Hot Pursuit 2010
Damn I thought the same, but apparently the orangey tint and the UI looks kinda the same. 😅
I played 3 races in a racing game and it got boring. So NFS wouldn't be much different, it only became popular because they had luck
looks like he was right xD
Well NFS is my first racing game, but I also agree it's just another racing game
This is a great video, exactly the kind I subscribed to this channel for despite never having played a minute of TM. Hope to see many more like it!
As the chat erupted in a frenzy of praise, I knew I wouldn't just remember this as a legendary stream - it would be the day I rode shotgun with a world record champion and future husband.
did you write this yourself or is this a copypasta
My man just wrote multiple paragraphes of a romance fanfic of Mr. Streamer and thinks he can get away with it
this…. this is magnificent
Holy Essaying
Bro found chatgpt
Thats so insanely crazy, that the replay from that exact run was featured in a montage of the team. One of the true unbelievable coincidences.
We have to appreciate the story telling that wirtual does❤
Pulls off one of the best runs using a bug, says nothing but ty, absolute legend.
And then, Wirtual uploaded, this video...
You know that's how his streaming audience got so big. It all started with those bad azz vids.
Love the famous "this run" song. Amazing vibes. I'm so glad you're still using it !
15:12 SO SATISFING
true
what a fantastic video :) editing and writing was awesome and the storylines are so cool. this is why I love trackmania!
Thanks for the upload on your secondary channel
This was one of the most enjoyable main channel videos I've ever watched, great work!
Year of the second channel!
Great video, as always. Thanks for telling me about a game I've never played :)
16:16 Jax theme from league of legends
Thank you!
Take a bow wirtual! You really took you videos to another level with this one! I don't really play TNF myself but you sure are responsible for bringing in many new enthusiasts.
18:51 My humor is broken, why is this funny?
I unironically check almost every week for another one of these videos from you. I havent even played trackmania in my life but these vids you do slap.
26:11 "OGH EN DAT EINDE" 😂👌
DUTCH BOSS REPRESENT
That's the kind of video I am looking for on this channel. Well done
Why no green timer?
Unwatchable
I love these 'history of maps' videos. Very well executed script, footage and editing style. And I really like hearing the phase 'when X got this run' and then there is no narration at all. Just game sound 👌Watching them get the WR is just beautiful. Its because of you that I have even a shred of interest in Track Mania. Keep up the good work 👍
10:57 ARGENTINA MENTIONED 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷 🎉🎉 VAMOS LCDLL
Always fun seeing vid pop up dude!
22:38 bro what the fu-
the editing style and narating is just amazing! give that man an oscar: best documentary, he already has a streamer award. annacHype
11:26 that made me actually say what
I love watching videos like these despite not playing Trackmania because it reminds me of the golden era of KZ climbing in counter strike 1.6. If you put aside the specifics of the exploits and the game mechanics, every single argument for why people love this game makes perfect sense and gives me a wonderful sense of nostalgia!
Anyone know the music played at 7:30 , please? Thanks
I love these videos because it show how devoted this playerbase is to their chosen game. Names, times, recordings, game data, it's all saved and stored somewhere and often in multiple places.
Definitely not from stream!😅
Same
I kid you not, the music comes and I got a smile, then he says the sentence and I got goosebumps. Man it feels good! Awesome work Wirty chan!
Whats the song at 7:40?
gerudo valley theme, not the original version though
@@URAGOOFUS THANK YOU!!!! I believe this is this version: th-cam.com/video/Zl_LVdpYnfU/w-d-xo.html
I just love how wirtual has made some players in trackmania a household name in my mind even tho I have never played the game. Also, your last video didn't have the music, and glad to see it make an appearance in this one.
W guy W video
