I have cooked all kinds of burgers. I have a propane griddle for smash burgers. Will use an infrared grill when I’m cooking burgers for large groups. I typically fire up my Kamado for low & slow. After hearing Kent say that this is the best burger he’s ever had, I had to give it a try. I was able to find the proper dried peppers to recreated his homemade chorizo. I did almost everything according to the recipe (held off on the cackle berry). I used the kamado to give the burgers a 10 min smoke bath (oak). Moved them over to direct heat approx 4 min per side (internal temp 165). After melting cheddar cheese, My wife was the first to prepare her burger & take a bite. She looked at me wide eyed and proclaimed “You will not be disappointed”. I prepped my burger, took a bite and could not believe how amazing it tasted. I looked over at my wife. She said - “Isn’t this the best burger you’ve ever had?” I had to agree. Truly amazed to enjoy a flavor packed burger that I’d gladly share with anyone. In our house we call a recipe like this a “Company Recipe”. This means that we would gladly share food with our friends and family knowing everyone would enjoy. Thanks Kent & Shan for another amazing recipe. Can’t wait to have company over & share the love that’s cooked into this Burger!
So glad yall enjoyed, be sure and tell company I said howdy, God bless you and yours
Where did you find the infared & what brands are better & still economical?
Man.... those burgers would pack a flavourful punch, make no mistake. My afternoon was less than happy, then I saw Kent looking my way on the computer screen, so I jumped right in, and it felt like a Saturday afternoon all over again. Thanks for cheering me up as always!
Our pleasure and thanks for watching
I've done chorizo burgers before, and it's exactly as good as Kent says it is. Now that I know how to make my OWN, I'm sure they'll be even better!
I can't figure out why I have no way to post a comment anymore! I can only use "reply" to someone! If Cowboy Kent sees this, please help!!
Me too Dean

Thank you Kent and Shann!!! Every vid you make, makes me more proud to be from the GREAT USA!!! I know you have a cooking channel but I feel more patriotic than I did before watching. Love you guys so much!!! God Bless America!!!!!
Shan’s response to the “organ meat” comment was PRICELESS. Love the content.
Please never change! You’re just what we need in the world today
*Hangs up on Work Meeting* New Cowboy Kent!!!
Interesting and how we have different recipes yet how delicious the food comes out. YES we make our own chorizo. DEFINITELY none of that greasy stuff from the store. Then we use most all the chile seeds. Boyfriend says if we threw them away his Father would return from the grave. We do not use beef. We use the pork sausage that we made from the hogs that we butcher. Going to San Cristobal (New Mexico) and staying in a remote cabin for several days. Also packing out homemade chorizo and having it with scrambled eggs and homemade tortillas. Now to trying a chorizo burger. As always Thank you for a fun and informative video!
Thanks for watching
@@CowboyKentRollins Always a pleasure Sir!
As a Veteran I thank you for always remembering all the men and women in The Service alive and those who gave their lives Thank You Kent and Shannon God Bless You and your Family and the pups❤️ LOL
Thank you for your service!
BECAUSE THEY'RE SO MISTREATED. DUDE, GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON. You all act like people should be giving you a bl*wj*b. Vets now seem to "milk it" for all they can. Most of you didn't fight for our freedom. You fought for U.S. interests (i.e. oil, money, land).
Wow that homemade chorizo burger looked great. Your new hat looks fantastic kent and the group hug was very much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your week guys 🙏❤️
Hello Mr Kent. I just wanted to say how much i enjoy your program. My Mother and I watched the video on crispy fried fish. Our mouth began to water when we saw the delicious fish you cooked. Your number one with me and my Family. God bless you and yours.
We thank you and your family so much for watching, God bless you all
Mr. Rollins you're about as wholesome as they come. Love your videos keep up the fine work sir! I'm smoking a brisket this weekend and in going to try out your pig shots as an appetizer. Can't wait :)
Thank you so much for that homemade chorizo recipe, I will be using that. Using it to spice up a burger instead of making one from chorizo alone was another pleasant surprise. Best of 2 worlds!
I sure like how you called out that tube chorizo---ORGANS! No way. Those burgers are certified tasty!
So good they are
Mr. Kent. Love your recipes and videos, but I want to take a moment to express how well I think Shan does with the videography, editing, and photography. Amazing work Shan! Ya’ll have a blessed evening!
I’m new to cast iron and you’ve been a awesome resource for me
Glad to help
Thank you kindly and live your best life
Thank you! You too!
@@CowboyKentRollins live your best life that's all that matters
Best part of Wednesday is when kent and shannon drop by .. great burger .. but more than that great people
Thanks Bobby so much
LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND THE PUPS
Thanks and God bless you
My wife had that idea a couple of years ago. We mixed a tube of chorizo with a tube of ground beef and grilled those suckers. We’ve done them with traditional burger fixings (lettuce, tomato, ketchup, etc.) and we’ve done them with burrito fixings (sour cream, guacamole, pico, Mexican cheese). Best burgers we have ever made.
This reminds me of a burger I had in Stillwater, OK about 20 years ago. I thought it was just a mix of burger and sausage but I never was able to get it right. Thanks again for another great video.
Glad you enjoyed
Good job Kent and Shannon, great looking burger you made today Kent. Thanks for sharing the recipe with us. Fred.
I'm glad you said thanks to the service men and women,,,my son is in the Marine boot camp right now "just ending week 4" and I worry about him everyday ❤❤❤
I love that you honor our service men and women! It helps when I look at my disabled brother, Nick, who fought in the Vietnam War. He now has agent orange seeping out of wounds he received when he was shot, and suffers from a stroke that was most certainly caused by shrapnel that got in his bloodstream and caused a clot in his brain. He has constant tremors and a myriad of other things I won’t go into here. So, Kent, it means a lot that somebody cares about these people who gave the ultimate to keep us safe. His wife, Cathy, of 55 years, has taken care of him always, but especially the last 9 years since he had the stroke. She’s a saint for sure!
On a happier note, keep making us laugh with those crazy happy dances. It just makes me laugh out loud!
Best to you and Shannon. 💔🐾💔
Great video, wish we had smellivison for that garlic & chili pot as it was cooking. Loved seeing the color of the sky as that storm crept closer. The pups all knew a good place to be.♥️
Nice one Kent, sausage meat mixed with ground beef. Wow !, now that's a new one on me. Alas Kent, ahem........ that was not Kerrygold that you put on the baps (Burger buns). See my friend, I watch your videos very carefully. Another informative cooking video. Thank you Cowboy. (Micheál - Ireland)
Hey Kent & Shan we wear our palm straw hats April to October. I could be 100 deg during Halloween. OMG watching you build that burger made me so hungry. We love your channel and really feel like a family. I'm a Army Green Beret VET and really appreciate yawl thanking us. I've seen some battle and very blessed to have made it back. You can see the scars on my right arm in our video's however I always keep in good spirits. God bless your family.
oh lord another one. bring out the violin.
Those dogs are adorable.
Amen Kent! Thank you!
Great recipe. I love Peyton’s chorizo out of tube but I’ll make this! Straws start at the beginning of may and I’ll hang it up around October
Thanks, sure straw hat weather here
Scott I also love Peytons chorizo.
@@CowboyKentRollins duly noted. Felt hat weather here in Melbourne Australia. Winter kicking in hard for the Southern Hemisphere.
@kingmissile809 Does it contain unknown organ parts?
Back when I worked at Whole Foods we made Chorizo fresh every day. We would grind 4 or 5 hams fresh in the morning and mix in all the ingredients by hand. It was the best ever. It had the consistency of ground beef and that crazy spice.
I think they would make great smash burgers. Ken a lot of people like a thin burger. ❤
Great stuff! This Vet encourages you to slice your red onions with the potato peeler for burgers
Boy am I glad that watched this before fixing supper ! This gives me a great idea what to fix ! Thank you Kent and Shannon for sharing this with me !
Kent, that looks fantastic. Definitely need to try that. I hope you, Shannon, and the pups have a great week! God Bless my friend! Cheers!
Thanks Tim and God bless you my friend, stay safe
The commercial chorizo I would buy would cook down to nearly nothing, it was like 90% grease, 10% meat. I'm so glad to see this chorizo recipe from you.
HOW????!!!!!
I just cut my hair three hours ago. I about fell out of my chair when you noticed. Love you Kent.
This makes me want to make a Chilli burger now.
I love my dried hatches. I've always got some dried red in the pantry and frozen green in the freezer.
So good they are
Great show 👍👍👍👍👍
My Grandad said thanksgiving and Easter is the swap from straw to felt where we live in Bosque county Texas. Everyone has their dates. Good job cookie
When you asked what was new I wasn't looking at the hat. I was seeing nothing was being blown around. I used to go to Apache every spring and get a new straw hat. You got a good 'ern.
Glad to see you make your own chorizo. I see so many cooking channels using store-bought chorizo when home made is tastier, cheaper, and really easy to make. I prefer to make mine with 90/10 ground pork, not breakfast sausage.
I have been watching your show for years, Kent, and I think that this may be your best burger yet! Thanks for another great recipe!
This old veteren appreciates you acknowledging the active and us no longer in for our service. Your a class act
Thanks for the video Kent and love what you guys do for all of us as your fans. You truly are an inspiration to myself and many other people watching your videos. God Bless you and your family and I look forward to another video from you guys. Sending love from Missouri.
Art & science! What a brilliant Burger! Thanks for the great chorizo recipe, Kent, Shan and all the pups!!
Hiya, Kent. Those are some magnificent looking burgers. So is that hat! Oh, my, what a wide brim on that thing and it'll shade your shoulders in the sun and blow you plumb up into Kansas when it's windy! Love that stormy sky behind you too. Hope you get some good moisture out of it.
Love ya Kent! You’re true to the south and how we were raised!
We refer to tube chorizo as 'lips and a-holes' Great fresh chorizo is available here in So. Cal and is fantastic in all sorts of dishes. I make a dish called warrior stew that would knock your socks off! Blessings to you Cowboy Kent for your great presentations and wisdom!
Cowboy Kent, when the anxieties of this crazy modern world get to me. All the traffic and angry folks. Your videos bring me back to that place that makes it all alright. Life is good. Keep on keeping on. 👍🏻
Kent Rollins and Malcom Reed. The two best cooking channels on TH-cam! I’m not going to watch this video right now because I just had surgery and can’t eat solid food for another week. Don’t feel like torturing myself! See you in a week Kent!
Mr, Rollins, thank you so much for the Chorizo recipe. I finally found pitter sausage in my area and made this...oh my goodness...i thought it was awful wet before i put it in the fridge to marinate but again...oh mu goodness after it sat for 14 hours...oh my goodness it was the best Chorizo ive ever had with my eggs...so worth the wait...thank you and God Bless you and Shannon!
Living in southern AZ chorizo is a staple in these parts IT IS. For your viewers that don’t opt to make their own chorizo I’ve found Johnsonville Chorizo in the one pound package is a LOT LESS greasy than the squeeze tube varieties. I use it for breakfast burritos and the flavor is amazing and thanks to this gem of a video I’ll try mixing it with ground beef and dial me up some burgers and here to forward I’m fixing to call it the KR burger! 🤠
Very good. I make mine the same way, just with chipotle as well and I toast the dried chilies before rehydrating them.
I do meatloaf with mole sauce like that too!
Chorizo burgers on grilled sourdough with cilantro, fresh garden tomato!!❤
Thanks Mr. Ken to you and wife greatly appreciated what yaul do sir. Keep the videos coming.
HATS OFF TO COWBOY KENT ROLLINS!!!!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 Saludos desde Juárez Chihuahua México amigos!!!
Thank you for your good works, cowboy. My best to you and yours. Happy early Father's Day!

I work at a sausage plant in Oregon and we make chorizo all day. Man I love chorizo.
I ❤ Shannon's voice it makes me smile!!!
Might make this for my Fathers day cook, looks great!

The best of 2 worlds!!! God Bless you Mr. Kent 🤠🇲🇽🇺🇸. Saludos from Nuevo Laredo MX
Cowboy…once again I MUST make this recipe hence blowing my diet. Looks like I’m hiking two hours tomorrow. But for real. This is an amazing recipe and thank you for sharing sir 💚🇺🇸✌🏻
All that Deliciousness with an egg and onion on top ….,, Thank Y’all!
My hubby would love that burger with the egg on it! I like to put chorizo in my spaghetti sauce, gives it a wonderful change from Italian sausage.
Yummy, these burgers look awesomely delicious.
GOD BLESS, TYFS
Thanks so much and God bless you
I've not watched in awhile. Glad your still here and I can't wait to try this.
That looks delicious thank you for sharing
Our pleasure
Glad you’re back! Prayers answered!
I made these today. Amazing flavor. I could not find New Mexico chiles local, so I used arbol. Thanks for the recipe.
Holy Sh*t that’s my buckle! I really love you now! You are suited up💯🤯
I love Chorizo and my favorite brand used to be Popular I can't find it no more but I always wanted to make my own Chorizo and that burger looks beautiful
God bless
Love your cooking
Really solid and simple way to make one of my favorite breakfast foods. I would definitely recommend
Looks fantastic Chef Kent❤
Thanks
I just placed my order of all your seasonings and a bottle of mud, finally got around to it and at good timing for our summer grilling, God bless you Mr. Rollins love all your food and thanks for all your videos
And living in New York, can't buy any good Mexican chorizo, so thanks for that too. Moving up here from the west coast was tough on my taste bud desires lol, you've simplified my access to all our good food southwest style from your multiple videos
Just delicious looking yummy
Thank you so much
Yep Kent knows how to make a real man’s burger that looks so good.

Those really do look good. Thank you for sharing. Have a great rest of your week.
Such refreshing videos. I've tried your recipes, so good. May God Bless you all and keep you safe.
I didn't realize how easy it is to make Chorizo. Thank you. I'm going to make some with some hot Bass Farms sausage. ❤
So I can't sleep. It's one AM and I'm scrolling through my Subscriptions and come across Kent and this recipe. I have never wanted to try a burger more in my life. 😁
I'm from the UK, while we have sausage meat we don't have something called breakfast sausage. What's the difference? Can you make this with just standard sausage meat? If any other viewers from the UK have any suggestions please let me know. Great video as always. Thanks to you and Shannon.
Instant American classic...true exceptionalism 🎆
it's a Mexican classic. Chorizo burgers are not an American thing. DUH!!! Educate.
Ill work for food omg I love this
Love Chorizo and your version on how to make it. Thanks for letting me know when to change my hat color.
This has to be incredible! Wow. I'm so hungry now! 😊 thanks Kent and Shannon.
God bless all here.
I love you Cowboy Kent. Good wholesome old head that I can tell you has a servant’s heart. Love the lil dances you do after the food is made, you show love to the vets and fallen, and of course God. Newer sub. Much love 🙏🏾🫶🏾
Makes me think of how some stuff is cooked where you don't even need sauces it's so good
The good vibes are here, with the old school folk :)
