Lyrics below:
Heto mi halanma
Mine waddimi yiddema
Ko ane tane holimi
Holimi ko ndjidirmi o Dunne Dunne
Hum hum waddimi yidde
In the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
In the cold light, I live, I only live for you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
Humm ko ane holimi
Koliyo ngopei ndjoukirade
Hasidagal modiani
Waddimi yiddema
Waddimi yiddema
Mine waddimi yiddema
Ko ane tane rokimi
Ko nanei, nanei, nanei, nanei, nanei, mi waddno
Ko jonni, jonni, jonni, jonni, jonni, mi watti
Ko jonni, jonni, jonni, jonni, jonni, mi watti
So, I opened up my eyes
To a new light
I wandered 'round your darkened land all night
But I lift up my eyes
To a new height
And, indeed, there will be time
But in the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
In the cold light, I live, I'll only live for you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
And in the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
In the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
Why do I keep falling?
Why do I keep falling?
Hear Him, come in again
There is a time
A time to love
A time to sing
A time to shine
A time to leave
A time to stay
There is a time
A time to cry
A time to love
A time, oh yeah!
There is a time
A time to sing
A time to love
And in the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
In the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am
It's all that I have
Why do I keep falling?
Why do I keep falling?
This song is a gift to the world no other way to describe

All strength to you may you beat cancer and enjoy a pain free life good luck......
I just commented that this song gives me goosebumps. Then I scroll down and see your same comment. I hope that you are cancer free and doing well.
Hope youre doing well and cancer free!
We need more musicians screaming the hell out of their songs like these ones
Go listen to metal then. Plenty of screaming there.
@@canaanjustice1725 Melodic and Post-Hardcore in particular
I think he was talking about the passion the musicians give to the song
Carlos García their passion while playing it is what really tops it all off
Doing my best to do them justice but failing 🤣 smashes through to your soul this song!
If there was only one song left on Earth, I'd want it to be this one. I can't get enough. This is perfection.
Me to
Perfection it is! 🎶 ✨ 🙌🏾 💖
Couldn't agree more 👍👍👍
Amen Coleen
Hell yes Coleen! This music can change the world!!
This song makes me proud to be a human being.
Yes !

baaba maal s verses translation: you are my only love.Your love makes me loves this world. Let me tell you that I really love you.Let s stop all the hate and gossip and focus on love.
THANK YOU! You are a god send
Thanks!
+Mo Diallo Thank you so much
thanks man
ahhh. thanks.
You don't realise just how good Mumford and Sons are until you watch them live
I agree with that so much!!!
I'm going to see them today 😊
going to see them in about a month, been waiting for this moment for like 4 years now :D
+Teresa Byng Im going to Hyde Park too!!! God, its gonna be amazing
I agree , went to see them at Birmingham. genius
When the black dog of depression hits I turn to this song and it lifts my soul.
right?!?!?1 this song makes me so happy that i actually cry happy tears
Amen brother 😊
Whoever got to see this live completed life that night.
I would agree since I was there...
Was on holiday and the hotel manager gave me a free ticket. I still thank her to this day 😂
Best night of my life
I did, and it was amazing.
I’ll be seeing them this March. First time seeing my favorite band of 8years im so excited
I was fortunate enough to attend this concert live in Cape Town - what a night. Watching it again takes me back to an amazing experience. Hope to do it again in the future.
Jealous much
Must've been one hell of a night!! I wish I was there too :(
I was at the Durban show - INCREDIBLE.
Lucky you! Got to see just Mumford in Melbourne. They were brilliant as expected.
this particular one was at the Voortrekker Monument
The way they screamed, “WHY DO I KEEP FALLING?”... I felt that in my chest, I’m cryinggg
Same
SAMEEE, that part gives me goosebumps even on the 500th time watching it
For real tho
I got it tattooed last year. In Italy (where I come from) we have only one meaning for "to fall" which is "to fall down"... But in this case I intend it as a good falling, a fall in the depth of love and life, a fall in the cold light of a new day, when there is still time for doing everything you want and need! I love it
@@Alessandra-oe4rc I love it.
I've watched this video so many times.
The smiles on their faces, the mutual appreciation of their art and the joy of performing together on stage. It literally fills my heart watching them.
Watching them live has been in my priority list since forever.
the moment you see marcus looking at baaba with that look. wooow
I had the privilege and opportunity to see them at Ohana's beach music festival!
I'm still dying to see them for the first time. Would've loved to see them for their tour when they dropped Wilder Mind

It’s my new favorite song
Baaba Maal has a deep power when he sings.
Absolutely. He is hope.
Such a beautiful man love watching his interviews.. saw this in London huge outdoor festival.. Mumford and sons amazing ..
Anyone listening to this master peace in 2024 🎉
I am today April 17th 2024
it's a lifetime song
Amazing song and performance ❤
Yesss ❤
I’m here ! 🫡
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH..... Man, I would love to have been there..... Amazing energy.... Can you feel it?
It was absolutely amazing.
Ten months ago I would have just agreed with you. But now that the world has turned into what it is, to see an indigenous South African group and a white British group performing together and genuinely having a great time on the same ground that just years ago was under apartheid, I would like to hug you and everyone else who is moved by this
Was just thinking the same, what I wouldn't give to have been there!!!!
@@OranFW23 I was there, it was pretty special.
@@gregorybows2535 I'm so jealous!!! It must have been amazing!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people have so much fun on one stage at once
this train is bound for glory, mumford, edward sharpe, and old crow.... badass....
I have also stated the obvious- the most fun I have seen from a group of musicians since Traveling 'berries
I don't think I've ever seen so many people on the same stage at once.
@@DrCash7 You've never seen an Orchestra?
My favorite two bands are Dave Matthews Band and Mumford and Sons... and this type of song is exactly that reason. Just people loving music. Just sharing a link of something similar where a bunch of people just said hey let’s make some amazing music and have an f’n blast doing it

I have no idea how many times I've seen this video & it stirs me every time. During this lockdown April 2020, it seems particularly meaningful. Take care, everyone

Mystic Maiden 🙏 praying that you stay safe and healthy.
You can tell M&S has passion for their music. Going to a different country with a different culture and collaborating with a foreign singer is amazing. You can feel Baaba's sincerity and story behind his voice. M&S did a good job going somewhere else to learn more about music even though they were already successful. This is a very nice song.
even in their earlier days, they had toured India. did some crazy collaboration. Too sad not many of us here realised what they did. only now!
You know in South Africa we don't ride rhinos. We actually have cars and the Internet. It isn't a different "culture" we're as much part of the global village as you are. Yes it was awesome that they collaborated with a local artist but honestly Cape Town and Johannesburg (where they performed in SA) are far more "connected" to international affairs than many places in America
+Duncan Bar-David spot on mate, I'm Scottish and have friends in the states who think we only eat haggis, drink whiskey and stay in castles
Mumford & Sons are from England.
Also Baaba is from Senegal, so it's not even close to SA haha
Listen (and smile). Hum tune all day. Come home, listen again. I CAN'T BREAK THE CYCLE.
Exactly
+puppyzrmylife022 true
same!
I concur!!! Such an amazing soul feeding song....
+Hayley Jayne Pestifield :) awesome song brings much hope!!
A great showing of what happens when cultures are brought together instead of being pitted against one another, definitely need to see this happen more.
Absolutely goose-bump worthy music!
One world ❤️
Agree
My thoughts exactly. The power of this song is something else. I love when they're all singing at the top of their lungs... goosebumps every single time.
political divide was the end to perfection. Fu-ing woke
be mindful when families, friends are pitted against each other. My purpose is to know these demons and befriend them when they think I am there bestest greatest of all time. because

Baaba Maal's featuring is truly a beautiful blend of his Senegalese culture and the British/American Folk stylings of Marcus Mumford. This concert was played in South Africa, which of course carries much history of cultural divisions. Much can be said about the further cultural implications of the celebration of black and white coming together on stage in a former nation ravaged by Apartheid.
Mumford and sons. You are the reason I believe in music. I love you so much.
This song makes me proud to be a human being.

Couldn't agree more!!
This version is 10x better than the one on the cd
All live versions are better than studio versions.

[Verse 1: Baaba Maal]
Listen to me, I want to tell you something
The reason I love you is because
You are the only one who has taught me how to love
And appreciate life
[Chorus: Mumford & Sons]
But in the cold light, I live, to love and adore you
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
In the cold light, I live, I only live for you
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
[Verse 2: Baaba Maal]
To feel hurt and to feel joy
Feelings that come from loving you,
Situations can change,
between the morning and the night
But our love for each other stays the same,
It stays strong; It is constant and it remains true
[Verse 3: Mumford & Sons]
So open up my eyes to a new light
I wandered 'round your darkened land all night
But I lift up my eyes to a new high
And indeed there will be time
[Chorus: Mumford & Sons]
But in the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
In the cold light, I live, I'll only live for you
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
[Chorus 2: Mumford & Sons]
And in the cold light, I live, To love and adore you,
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
And in the cold light, I live, I'll only live for you,
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
Why do I keep falling?
Why do I keep falling?
[Bridge: Baaba Maal]
There is a time, a time to love,
A time to sing, a time to shine,
A time to stay, a time to go
There is a time, a time to cry,
A time to love, a time to,
There is a time, a time to sing,
A time to love
[Chorus 2: Mumford & Sons]
And in the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
And in the cold light, I live to love and adore you
It's all that I am, it's all that I have
Why do I keep falling?
Why do I keep falling?

A collaboration between a group with Christian lyrics and the equally amazing Islamic rooted man Babba maal. We are one people. One love.
The people thay divide us have full pockets and the people who try to unite us die. John Lenton! Bob marley!
We have to change and start loving for god rather than the greed of the smallest minority of people who believe they are above and control us!
Stop the fighting and spread the love through music
What non islamic country do you live in to freely say that?
Mumford & Sons are not a Christian band and the lyrics aren't Christian, just because the lyrics are about love and companionship doesn't make them Christian.
The band itself has come out multiple times to say that they are not a Christian band.
I've probably watched this video a thousand times. Thank you for making the internet a better place with music like this.
"This is what we stay alive for."
Lord Friday what is that from?
Robin Williams
Lord Friday as Mr Keating?
Is my facebook you wannt travler come si africa senegal this is yèla from senegal baba maal my facebook is ma zeeni kodiel
My dad served a Mormon mission in Johannesburg, Joha. It's where he fell in love with music. We lost him 6 years ago, but I know he would have loved this. Babaa was one of his heroes. The respect they felt for one another is evident on stage. Can't get through this with dry eyes. I'll see you again pop, this side of the other.
Marcus should be leading congregations with a voice like that. The Lord has blessed him with doing Mumford and bringing everyone closer to God! Amazing song about Gods graces and love!
+WillingCharm Amen!
yess!!!
+WillingCharm Marcus Mumford isn't a Christian.
Clifford Close no he isn't, however he had a big influence on religious lyrics/phrases. Such as, in the song, 'Below My Feet', one of the lyrics is "I was told by Jesus, all was well. So, all must be well." And in 'Cold arms' he says "God knows I put it there." Of which both obviously have a religious meaning.
+Walrus Oh, yes. You are correct. His parents are even Christian and he was raised in that kind of home. But he's said in interviews that his personal walk in faith has been a struggle and he's still working things out, although he has said that he wouldn't label himself as a Christian.
Omg I can't even put into words how much swag the guitarist in the red hat has. Like honestly
i'm telling you
I think of Prince every time I watch this 😍
Who is he?
@@tomdurocher6552 Seye Adelekan. He's current playing bass for Gorillaz
Love how Baaba Maal’s powerful voice just casually soars over the sound of what looks like about a dozen other amplified instruments all playing together.
His style isn’t for everyone, but man, when he roars everyone listens!
Although I absolutely love the song, it’s not what makes this video so special. It isn’t the lyrics or their voices that gives me goose bumps, although they're both pretty incredible. The thing that makes this video so special is the way they bring it, the way they perform. If you watch this video and focus on their faces for a second, you can see that they enjoy it so much and that they just love being on stage sharing their music. I personally think that is something really important that every artist should have. It often happens that when artists get famous, that they get this attitude and forget what it’s all about. But that is absolutely not happening to them. That is one of the reasons they are so good in performing live and one of the main reasons I love them.
^ this
agree with u 24/7 👆
Katrijn This is so far one of the best commentary that I ever read. Completely agree
2:32 xD I love how Marcus does that and how Baaba Maal reacts.
Cleaning windows
The first time they played this song on the Saturday night in Pretoria it started raining. Spiritual experience. After this it was Little Lion Man in the rain. Insanely awesome night.
This video makes me emotional for so many different reasons. I just think this is how the whole world should be. Can't watch it without tearing up.
And this is the exact reason why I'm seeing Mumford 3 times in a week... incredibly talented musicians.
My favorite band on the planet and this song is pure magic with Baaba Maal. It's been on constant repeat at my house and I can't wait for the EP Johannesburg. The pure joy on that stage. It's just gorgeous. Marcus Mumford is life.
+Cole Cooper mine too. marcus is amazing so is every single person on that stage
I don't know who Baaba Maal is....but he is amazing. I got the goosebumps just listening to his final chorus. There is times when you may not understand the language but just the voice can overcome the language barrier
Baaba maal is my nabougher
The passion and love for music from two different cultures brought together on one stage. Beautiful to witness!
This is how we are supposed to come together with other peoples! This is what its all about.
This is what music is supposed to be... heart warming
This is what music is supposed to do... unite
Can I get one massive round of applause for mister Winston Marshall in this masterpiece? Mumford & Sons won't be the same without him, but at least we will always have this song and this beautiful video to see them perform together, with pure, raw emotion and love.
I feel sad that he left, but i'm hoping he gets the attention and love he deserves either as a solo musician or with another band.
Won't he come back at some point?
Thought he was taking a break
@@wonderlam6366 Attention is all that this fascist project does not deserve to have.

The best day of my life was seeing them live.
They are awesome in every way you can possible ask for!! I hope they come back to Colombia to play on a full solo Concert!!!
I am SOUTH AFRICAN.
Obviously proud to be. A magnificent vibrant culture.
Problems we have, but who does not..... ? I am so very, very blessed to be African. This song, even though these boys are English, epitomizes what it is to be part of this continent.
the energy in unreal!! I love these collaborations!!
Best song of the year so far. Brilliant. Emotional.
this is one of the greatest live performances of all time
When I say that Mumford & Sons has saved my life, I genuinely mean it. I can't fully explain it (I don't think anyone would be able to explain the things they make us feel) but they've taught me how to love and what I should love in my life. I'd fully be lost without the love and light they've managed to inject into my life. I'm so grateful for them, I truly am.
Ifeoma Umeala Finally a Nigerian fan here 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I found mumford and sons back when I was in highschool it was sophmore year back when sigh no more was their only album and they weren't very big and their music litterally saved me from my depression I started playing guitar again because of them
@james buttitta, I’m glad you came across the band at your trying times, it was a mutual feelings when I discovered them too, they healed my soul every night when I listened to them. They are a blessing to our generation.
I love this band it saved of music and boredness
This
I've never seen a band more in love and amazed by the music they were creating. This is my new favorite thing.
Right? A lot of bands these days just make music to make money. They make music because it's what they live and love to do.
This is probably my favorite thing on TH-cam. As I get older I really see how much we are really all the same and can find joy together. So much time is wasted on things that don't matter and we allow other to divide us.
Gave me chills. That's some powerful shit right there
I get chills about 5-8 times during this song. is it like a drug?? … little bit ?! :D nah they are amazing!!!

This is exactly the comment section this performance deserves.
This is so much more than just a good song. This is everything the world needs right now. Togetherness, no matter where you're from or what your style is. Man, the world has become such a fucked-up place. This song, with this spark between these guys, makes me forget about all that.
Jesus this songs amazing you can really feel it, I feel like Im going to cry
+Cole Cooper yesss😊😂😭😭
Yep, I get teary-eyed in the middle when the music builds and Marcus is laughing and shaking his head while playing drums, and then they take the chorus up an octave and he sings "a time for love!' THEN the "why do I keep falling?" Is so amazing! I thought it was cool they reused that line from Just Smoke. It fits great in this song.

This was shot in Pretoria, at the Voortrekker Monument, on 8 February 2016... ( you can faintly see the lights at the top of the monument at 4:31) AND I WAS THERE WITH 21 of my best friends... And it still feels like a dream! Such an epic night, the rain came down on a country ripped by drought, and we danced and drank and cheered and lived in the rain, with these Lords of Music playing our theme songs to life! WHAT. A. DAY.

Another example of this amazing band reaching new heights by experimenting with their sound. It worked when they joined the Wedding Band and it works now!
The wedding band! Yes!
You can literally feel their energy and passion…. Goosebumps
I'm not crying, you're crying 😭
I'm not kidding, I'm crying this is so beautiful I can't express it in words. Thank you for this, this is a masterpiece
It’s not just an artist performing a song here. It’s someone who is absolutely and unbelievably passionate about what they’re singing. Not often you see that anymore. Goosebumps every sing time.
The energy and the music combined gives off a Babel+Wilder Mind vibe. Out of this world!! ❤️❤️❤️

I bet everyone on this stage still thinks about this moment of their lives.
This never gets old.
This song is my daily moment of "zen," happiness and brightness. If you refer to the lower comment from Katrijn Bels, "focus on their faces for a second, you can see that they enjoy it so much and that they just love being on stage sharing their music," this is exactly why this video is so impressive. My favorite moment of the video begins at 1:31 at the end of Baaba Maal's 2nd verse. He yields the floor for Marcus to begin his verse. It's not just yielding but uplifting Marcus. He extends his hand towards Marcus and with a simple hand gesture, the performance soars. This song, for me, is a testament to a more hopeful, spiritual, and loving future for mankind. It's why I keep coming back to this performance, not just the song, but this actual performance time after time. It's a small piece of perfection that uplifts my body, mind and soul. I simply love it!
Every time I hear this song come on Spotify, I have to stop and listen to the live version because the studio one doesn’t do this song enough justice! This performance was incredible and I wish I saw it live!
I don’t think it’s possible to watch this music video without feeling the power of music to unify and collaborate. I watched it this morning with my 8month old daughter. Music has the ability to transcend race, culture and politics. It dissolves prejudices and strengthens the bonds between us. Baaba Maal is a Senegalese singer and guitarist born in Podor on the Senegal river - on the face of it we couldn’t be further removed; geographically, culturally, linguistically- but when I hear him sing that gap instantly closes. We aren’t that different. I hear him perfectly.

I began listening to y'all in 2009 when "The Cave" was released in 2009 and heard it on an LA radio station. I fell in love. Most people at Texas Tech University did not know about the band. Shortly after, crowds realized how amazing y'all are and began to follow you on social music media.
The summer of 2017 I became a Reading and English teacher an in an inner city school here in Houston. It was difficult at first because my middle school students did not like to read any kind of literature. So when I took the job, I decided to start lectures with a poetry unit to which lyrics falls into the category. I then saw your wonderful video of "There Will Be Time" and how happy everyone was on stage! I cried the first time I heard it. So I decied to make my students read the lyrics and then MAKE them "dance along" as I presented the music video hoping they would feel the same excitement I did. Next day I started the class, we read the lyrics and I announced "Everybody Up! UP UP UP! Out of your desk"!
I did not have to tell them to dance, just followed you guys in the video and their own dance moves full of hands up and twirls! Some started air guitars and drums.
My students, who hated to read and listen to poetry, love it now. BECAUASE OF YOU GUYS.
Lord, when I told them I was going to see y'all live at ACL, most of them begged for a video. To which I obliged. (Great show by the way)
You see these kids are not just any inner city kids. They come from immigrant families where they have to be hyper aware of their surroundings, especially with our current political climate. However, within the 4 Min and 40 seconds of your music video, you allowed them to be carefree kids and just enjoy a really good song with a deeper literature meaning to it. It is because of this song and the words that my kids now love to read.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!
Best,

The way I see it there’s one major problem with this song....it ends.
Great things come in small drops. That's the beauty of life.
Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat
Oh I must agree!
This is one of those performances that you dont need to understand the lyrics to have it touch your soul ❤
Hearing baaba just makes it that much more bone chilling
I'm french and I don't understrand all the lyrics but my soul is touched
MARCUS,
It is not music
It is an experience and art
Thank you for being
you're awesome
I closed my eyes to this, and felt far away...
Rene Reisacher i did too! 😭
Baabaa mail has a God given voice! A voice to the generations and Mumford & sons are a gift to this world. This song is liquid gold filled with a deep message. ❤️
I'm crying literally. Please do the same kind of cultural project in Georgia too. It's a beautiful country with loads of surprises and traditional folk music being an intangible heritage in UNESCO fund. For sure the main reason I want you to do this remarkable thing, is that i'm dying to attend your concert just for once.
Wow!!!, Mumford & Sons are truly the greatest!, this songs serves as the perfect testament of the quote "Music has no language"
Sometimes there isn't time, and we are forced to remember the time we did have...love you, my angel son.
Is this one of the finest moments in live music? Unbelievable being there / such humble musicians, making music for the love of music. An honor
This song should inspire the whole world. It s different generations ,baaba maal is in sixties and mumford represent the new generation.baaba is muslim, mumford are probably christians.Baaba is African, mumford are Europeans. There are differences but you can feel on stage the love between the musicians.Differences are an asset humanity should celebrate.
I've been silently monitoring this for 8 years, NOT a negative comment. We did it. Humans deserve a chance after all.🤟💌
Thank you for this comment! ❤✨
Who could be negative about this :)
Baba mall is the same dude who did the traditional African soundtrack vocals in the movie black panther 👏🏾👏🏾💯👌🏾
Mumford and Sons always bring out to me that special feeling I can't describe, their presence feels so familiar to me, like some people I knew in real life, especially Marcus very beautiful voice and artistic soul, pure human things :') ... Love the song ..Love M&S

they always seem to conjure up a happy memmory of a time you didn't quite remember, maybe from a dream, that's how they sound to me anyway
