@@vintageradar Hi, i have a bushmaster that requires the same battery / reset as demonstrated. I was wondering exactly what does this do to the watch that it needs to be shorted basically, to get it going? I mean lots of quartz you just pop it in done. Curious.

It reminds me of how I startup my computer's spare power supply. I don't have that tool, does it work if I do the conection with a metal paper clip?

my gshock dw-9000 just has an AC hole which you press down with a small screwdriver. It's located above the battery to the left. The problem I'm having is putting the watch back into the case and for all the buttons to work, learnt alot though including getting the light button to now work since the button wasn't connecting with the contact on the casing properly. Also another potentional probem is that the 4 screws which hold the back plate on do not tighten properly so I may have to either put something in the holes for the screws to grip or get slightly bigger screws.
You need to place the movement perfectly inside. Push the buttons towards the exterior and the movement must fit perfectly. That is why your screws do not go inside perfectly. Once the movement is perfect inside, the back should fit exactly and the screws as well.
Yes I'm a bit flummoxed to be honest since there seems to be plenty clearance for the back plate to go on. I'll try it without the gasket on and see what happens, there's definitely a knack to all this, I just have to find it and try not to break anything😆@@vintageradar

@@vintageradar Managed to find some replacement screws which are not as long but slightly thicker I guess since they tightened. Also got lucky putting the watch back together since all the buttons now work including the light. cheers for your help buddy👍

Do a lot of Casio watches and CANNOT for the life of me get our G-701D too AC reset

I do not have that exact model, so I do not know. You can also visit a watchmaker, maybe there is a problem with the battery or connectivity.
Can I touch tweezer anywhere on the positive side or does it have to be exactly on the "+" sign? I can't find the "-" or "+" signs anywhere else on my Relic watch but there is that "reset" hole. Thanks.
You can. The metallic part/ parts are basically the same piece. On this model, you need to put one tip of the tweezers inside the hole and the other one can touch the metal part around it as well.

Can not doing this after changing the battery cause the Watch to run twice as fast as what the published specs say? Mine is running 30-35 seconds fast a month and the battery was changed just before I bought it.
Hello. Make sure to also align the watch hands after battery replacement:

If the problem persists, either the battery might not be the right one or maybe the watch needs some sort of a service (the hands maybe).
what is the capacitor type of GW-B5600?

@@vintageradar Hi. Thanks for getting back. The battery in the watch was a 2025. I replaced this with a new 2025 battery, but the watch didn’t work. I then tried with a 2035, which is slightly thicker, and the watch worked. No need for a reset. Thanks again for getting back.
Sir,i have problem with my g shock G5600e Tough solar,Already AC reset many times,Its shows flashing CHG on screen,i thought the battery worn out,so change it,sadly the problem still the same 😢,any button fail to be pushed which i don't understand
If it is a solar watch it will need a capacitor, not a regular battery. I would suggest you visit a watchmaker so that you do not permanently damage the watch.

For anyone who has a spare CR1225 lying around and tempted to replace the battery, it is unfortunately thicker and do not allow the latch to close. CR1220 is the only option.
Can I short it with anything conductive instead? Maybe a wire?

I Had a battery replaced in my G Shock in a Fast Fix shop and since then every few days it starts to lose about 15- minutes no matter how much I reset the time ! Do you think it's because this reset may not have been carried out ?
That can be a cause, also a weak or wrong battery that was installed. You can visit them again and tell them something is wrong, maybe they can do the AC reset for you at least.

I replaced my battery on same watch but didn't know about the AC reset, set up watch ok but the light doesn't work when pushing the light button... by doing the AC reset will this fix the light problem?
It might work or maybe you also have to clean the Light button or maybe the movement is not in place perfectly.
@vintageradar managed to get it working by getting a small flat screw driver head on the lever spring move it back & forwards a few times then move the button on the watch

Many years ago I bought a GW3000BB 5121, rarely worn, I left it in the drawer all this time; I had its battery changed recently and also did the ac reset thing, now the watch still will not run, all pointing to 12 o'clock and date is set to 1. Does it matter if the original battery stays inside for too many years? Thank you for your help.
Maybe the battery died and spilled inside. I would advise you to also check with a watchmaker, maybe it needs some cleaning. @@JImmY1982MinG

@@cengizmetin Your digital time and analog time might be misaligned. When you replace the watch battery, the watch presumes it is 12 midnight, and that will be its benchmark.
