He’s full of knowledge and experience, I wish I had listened and talked to experienced guys more when I was coming up. I’m not in trucking, I’m in electrical line work, but it’s the same concept when learning a trade.
I have NEVER seen a newer cascadia with a manual transmission. So much so, that i wouldve bet my life that they didnt exist!! This just blew my mind man i swear!

My brother and I got a brand new cascadia a couple years back. For 2 weeks we got it the bunk heater went out in -30. So yes anything can happen to a brand new truck. Negativity is not welcome anything can happen. Thanks for making us smile Robert. Your a true legend 😊
I love this dude! I'm new to the channel, but i suggest you make him a reoccuing guest on your videos. He is the definition of a trucker. His style, his swag, the way he talks. I love it! He reminds me of my grandfather, who passed away. Actually happened on the job. He was getting off his rig slipped fell, and hit his head. Turned out he had a brain aneurism, and it happened to hit him as he was climbing down off the truck. So fucking sad was only 56 and had been trucking since he was 18. The company (Dimond and Bacorn through NorthAmerican) they paid for all the funeral costs and all that. So many memories riding with him and doing overnight rides we him and my older brother. Miss him so much...

My dad has been driving truck for over 40 plus years. 1800 miles a day is very do able. He drove from eastern Pennsylvania to California and back in 5 days in a cab over mack. He also would drive from Atlanta georgia to maine in 24hours

I 100% believe in a big rig with some heart and enough caffine and ciggretes to give you heart problems you can make it
I drove from norther NH to Edgewater Florida straight through in 23.5 hours and I got lost in NJ and NY for a few hours. It was 1600 miles, so yeah. Back in the day with 2 log books, you could do all sorts of shit. God bless the truckers. They keep everyone up and running, fed, housed, clothed, and everything else.

The company I worked for came apart at the seams and I just went a different direction. I probably won’t go back because the way the industry is headed. Robert has very realistic political opinions- I totally agree with automatic transmissions sucking and new trucks being too expensive. When I was driving my favorite truck I ever drove was a Kenworth as well lol. It’s pretty funny how this guy is super relatable!
The thing with seeing a lot of whichever truck your driving is a real thing, but it's cause you had no mental connection to them before but when you get one you start seeing them cause you now have a reference point to compare it to! It's like you weren't looking for it before but when you get one you subconsciously start acknowledging them

These truck drivers don’t get their due. Work their ass off, sitting at docks waiting for loads for free or practically for free. They keep this country moving. I’ve driven professionally for 10 years, big rigs, dump trucks, oil trucks, and garbage trucks and let me tell you, it’s a lot more than being a steering wheel holder. I’ve found my home in garbage being home every day and union, but these guys run the roads to keep our shelves stocked and I respect the hell out of them.

I got that automatic restriction on my license. Got my cdl doing LTL. I've been thinking once my contract is up to get my butt back in school and get that manual endorsement
To be fair, you can put most of the auto trucks in manual mode. I do it on the highway for hills and mountains and it works pretty well. But a true manual is still a lot more fun.
