Man them old school cabovers, I wish Hollywood could make a modern day Convoy movie with all the custom semi's we have rollin around the U.S. these days it would be epic....
Damn fine truck!!!!!! Bring back the old days when we made money and had a lot of fun doing the job, making friends along the way.44yr veteran of the road
OMG man that is a absolutely good looking truck!! I used to ride with my uncle in the early 80's when he was an independent trucker in his 1983 362 Peterbilt cabover. These are the best trucks in my opinion!!
This is my Dream job! Live in the USA and work as a trucker. Carry cargo across the States. And I would be infinitely happy, I would be a happy person. God save America, save all Americans! I love America!
There are simply some tractor- trailer combo's that make you triple take and say wow. This is one of those times! As an old song was titled " Justa Strokin". Only a (REAL) trucker is capable of operating this "Man's Truck", period. Keep er safe driver and keep this beauty lookin good.
I built an '80 K100 Aerodyne and it has 250 inch Wheelbase. I built a 600 Signature for it from the block up and machined the block to .0005 and corrected most of the issues associated with these engines. I replaced the faulty exhaust manifold with a Full Tilt and turbo, had a custom set of cams ground that were hardened, used marine injectors and fuel pump and its putting 2575 torque out @ 1350 which is where I cruise. She gets between 7 - 8.5 mpg hauling 45,000 depending on mountains or not. I haul produce to the North East and seafood on the back haul. I put 200 gallon square tanks on it with a pair of 50s for axillary. It's a money maker and gets a lot of attention.
They are a nice ridding tractor and wonderful to mauver.. Very confortable ride with the Freightliner air suspension. Or even the Rayco leafed suspension with at least 200 inches on the wheel base.. Mine had a 400 cat with a 212 wheel base. Freightliner air ride. Tall straight 5 inch pipes. A 15 speed. 463 ratio Rear Ends.. It was a 68 MPH truck at 16 hundred reeves, The Cat opend up some what over spec was giving me a constant 5.5 to 6.5 MPG. Pullin a cattle pot. I know by todays standers it's not that good. I regrated letting it go at 980,000 miles. For a new Western Star,, But the star done me good as well. The cab over was starting to nickel and dime me.. Also causing down time. On a Cattle haul is no place to brake down. Them shitters must be there when the gates open.. Ready for the auctioneers hammer to slam down and him saying SOLD.. A person could get away with maybe sub standard equipment on pasture hauls etc.. That very much limits the revenue... I might mention that a cattle trailer is not the best for fuel economy. With the hundreds of air holes catching wind..

Hello, beautiful truck but I have two questions, I am French and a truck driver (a long time ago 1985/1995), I was a bus driver for 30 years as well, I am retired now and I would like to know why the two axles of the trailer are so far apart and also why there is so much space between the cabin and the trailer, thank you (google translate)
Love the look, but is there a point to having such a long wheelbase? I could understand it if you had an extra long sleeper or gear box behind the cab, but what good is a lot of open space?
Best way to make $$$. No DEF, no e-logs, no sensors that fail, just drive drive drive. Way to go baby!!
Say it again‼️

Cattle trailer has got to be as bad as a dive brake on a WW2 dive bomber ( perforated flaps designed to slow a diving airplane)
