Been following for a while now, and love what you and your team are doing, and now with the new Scania engines! One of the biggest differences I've seen between what you are building and that the rest are trying to build is you are building a truck for capable and knowledgeable operators, they're making trucks for the steering wheel attendants hired by companies that just want bums on seats. People that will buy your trucks will mostly have a good understanding of what makes that truck work, and how to get the most out of it, their trucks will be stupidly automated, and outside of making the screens "user friendly" the rest of it will be nothing but a moulded piece of plastic that you can't touch, even for basic maintenance.
I'm homeless living in pueblo Colorado and I drive a 2001 ford explorer XLS. I wish I could do a resto mod but I'm poor and probably won't be able to in any time lol. But love your truck and watching your journey with topsy and carl
Love the argument about keeping it simple with off the shelf parts. I built my electric Toyota Hilux the same way with that same exact mentality in mind. I cannot stand how EV companies and vehicle companies in general are selling heavily over-engineered vehicles that can't be worked on or serviced. The Hilux I built was done as simple as possible knowing I can go to any junkyard to find stuff. And especially the EV parts. And if anything breaks on the truck I can fix it easily. My truck Is a pure EV now but I'm inspired now to throw a little Onan twin diesel in there to keep the pack charged for the longer hauls. Thanks for doing this guys!
To be fair J-anus is so poor and inferior to Topsy and the direction Edison Motors are going. J-anus is sort of a tax payer funded scam. I’m Australian. I sorta know what’s going on there. Melbourne news “ANOTHER JANUS ELECTRIC TRUCK FIRE - IS THIS MISFORTUNE OR CARELESSNESS?” terrible incompetence.
FINALLY hybrid trucks. it takes people who actually know how to DO the work to understand the engineering challenges. yes, you are the perfect people to be building this sort of thing. I have high hopes for edison motors. god. a vehicle people can actually WORK ON??????????? my GOD.
I was working for a construction company as an assistant to the i guess you would call it the lubetech. This was after my 3 years as a m1 mechanic. I noticed we only put 5 gallons in the generators every 3 days. The massive dump trucks we only filled every 2 days. But the loaders and dozers we filled everyday. There was something there but it was ti soon to realize what it was. Thats why you guys are awesome
Im so proud of you guys, and more so after seeing this video. Stay true to the core going forward. Myself and I think ALOT of other people see this as a solution going forward until a new energy source comes into our lives for vehicles. Right from the start when I saw your first video, I knew you had a great idea that should have been the next step in vehicle evolution. And the right to repair is at the core of it all. Love it. !!!!!!!!!!

I really like your enthusiasm, you talk the way it needs to said. You have discussed many many positive sides to your machine. I haven't seen any fire suppression systems. I think battery electric systems are great until they are on fire. What, if any are in place. With dry conditions I would really hate to see something great like this be tarnished by a "thermal event". Keep up the great work, I enjoy your videos.

I think you guys should use the "stealing teslas idea" thing less, even though tesla's failed and delayed truck made the demand for Edison Motors. Tesla's idea is an fully electric long hauler, while your truck is an electric logging truck with a generator. It is two completely different trucks, and they don't share the same idea. I would love a car/truck with an eletric drivetrain and a diesel generator, but it will be less effective for most use cases. Hope you guys succeed and change the market for the use cases where your solution makes more sense than anything else!
love your mindset and you are right why reinvent the wheel when everything for trucks are avalible all it need is to be electric love it i wish you guys all the best in your company
The comedian Joey Diaz said it best, you do not need a bunch of friends, you only need 3 or 4 bad mo fos and you can take on a country. That reminds me of you guys, you took a few people who have experience and know what you need because you have done it and you had one simple goal and you got it done rather than over complicating it. I have been saying this for years though that this is the hybrid system everything should be using until technology can advance.
The Edison reference is deliciously cheeky. And now chasing the energy of Paul Bunyan! (I'll leave out a Babe (Paul's blue ox) joke, though so much of the value prop and enterprise as a whole seems an attractive proposition.) Loved this intro, fascinated to be following your journey.
What people don’t get is the limitless design possibilities when you are not having to accommodate a conventional drivetrain’s. Remember, It was truck driver who invented containerized shipping . The best idea come from people who are involved whatever business they make a living . Congratulations
Please consider making a body kit which can be placed on top of the existing electric truck, with a few bolts, in order to make it more aerodynamic and look more futuristic. Add some LED strips on the edges, so cars can see (especially at night) from a long distance that a truck is on the road, as well as more LED strips for more blinkers, and then use the truck to carry cars at auto shows, to advertise it. I'm talking events dedicated to trucks, where big companies announce their newest products. If you can get one to a Tesla event, and use a trailer on which you write "The first electric truck with deliveries already started.", and maybe also write the price per truck and battery capacity, as well, and ideally have a futuristic body kit on the truck, for the best chances of making it on the news. I can already imagine: "New electric truck company parades their truck(s) at a Tesla announcement event, having already started delivering trucks to the customers." and "New electric truck company parades their trucks at events for cargo/freight companies, before delivering them to the customers.", and maybe "Underdog electric truck company undercuts Tesla's electric truck prices by substantial amount and delivery date by years!".
I think you have it on backwards. Tesla has been running internal tests (use) their Semi for years and it's like 1½ years since PepsiCo got their first batch (a few times bigger than what Edison Motors plans to build next year) that do real work for them. They are building the big factory to ramp production. Since Tesla make full/only BEV trucks and Edison Motors do series hybrid they aren't even aiming for the same customers. Edison has made a single truck from the scratch and it was rolling on it's own into the Fully Charged live 2023 expo, but has required more testing, programming etc. and we only right now see glimpse of it actually doing work (hauling logs), which ought to have been recorded the last month(s). Edison Motors aren't ahead on the development/delivery of trucks compared to Tesla, they are behind. So why would they parade around to crash a Tesla event when Chace has explained how they don't want to rush it and say they will build lots of trucks so their orders are already full for a long time. I which both products succeeds in their market but you got it all wrong. And I believe some of the other OEMs beat Tesla to deliveries (although that was probably a "let's jam a electric drive-train into our existing production line" variant).
idk if this truck or company will work out in the long term, but innovating without the exploitative and evil silicon-valley mentality is what we NEED.
Get a life the very technology your using to cry is in part from tech from silicon valley why don't you throw your phone away it comes from a evil place .
I can’t wait until your Company develops a simple, rugged, reliable off road 4x4 truck. The trucks available today are very expensive and are not rugged reliable and reasonably priced. If any manufacturer starts fabrication of a reliable off road truck I’m sure there’s a demand for such a thing. I regret selling my LandCruisers FJ 40 and 80’s. I’ve owned several, and today these 50 years old trucks still sell for more than they did at the dealer.
Service friendly semi trucks are often well liked. Tesla likes pushing the “the industry has held cars back” when really its “the industry realized that KISS works” I also like how it LOOKS like a semi truck. It doesn’t scream “LOOK AT ME, I’M MORE ECO MINDED THAN YOU”

Love seeing Topsy huling logs there at the end.
Not a truck driver, just an electronics nerd. You guys are killing it! Very cool, and as they stay in star trek, live long and prosper!
I'm homeless living in pueblo Colorado and I drive a 2001 ford explorer XLS. I wish I could do a resto mod but I'm poor and probably won't be able to in any time lol. But love your truck and watching your journey with topsy and carl
so crazy to see the journey! from carl to topsy to retrobuilds, very inspiring!
I’ve been toiling to hear this story. You guys have done something that should shake the world up.
Janus Electric are doing the same thing in Australia. There are so many trucks that we need more start-ups to do this.
Build local think global... 🧙🏻♂️
You can't put Tesla out of business. WINK WINK😁
I can't wait for on highway trucks to come out of there. It'll be my first truck for sure.
FINALLY hybrid trucks. it takes people who actually know how to DO the work to understand the engineering challenges. yes, you are the perfect people to be building this sort of thing. I have high hopes for edison motors. god. a vehicle people can actually WORK ON??????????? my GOD.
Take a sip whenever he says "truck", finish your drink whenever the Edison animated logo appears
I so wish I had some money to invest in this. I don’t but I wish you guys the very best and hope to see every video you post in the future.
Love it. !!!!!!!!!!
SO PROUD OF CANADIAN INGENUITY, WISHING YOU ALL THE SUCCESS AND PROSPERITY.
Its genuinely sooooo cool seeing you guys on your journey. Love seeing the hardworking blue collar man making a company that's connected to its values and makes a truck for the everyday man. Keep up the amazing work and Ill try contributing where I can
I’m so happy that you 2 are supporting, right to repair. I’m sure you’ll be successful
11:33 Needs LEDs or flag poles left and right on the sides of front bumper for that extra visibility! 👍🤠🤘🤩
I have been following you since quite a while now and my faith in you continues to grow!
I completely believe in this vision and respect your commitment to the environment and energy needs of this coming future not only with your semi but your idea to restore old pickups into Electric hybrids as well.
I have followed you guys since the early days and so impressed what you guys have done and the enthusiasm you guys have. Canada need more people like you guys and not the people running this down the shit hole.
Keep up the great work :)
My favourite part was watching Eric's face behind Chase 😂
Keep up the great work boys. I know some peope who own companies here in Ontario (including a large arborist company) who are watching you very closely
I couldn't possibly love these guys and what they're doin' any more. Hell yeah, f&$@ yeah, Edison Motors!
I saw the end of the video! LFG!!!! So excited!
This is bottom-up innovation, the road to success.
Absolutely love the passion guys!! A big middle finger to that portable appliance company 💪
You're definitely not stealing from them. Just making a far far more effective, efficient solution for trucking.
This is actually the first valid point someone has on this truck.
I wish your dealership/franchise deal wasn’t sold out you have no one on your list from Arkansas maybe one day I will be your man in Arkansas the timber business is big here love what your doing for North America.
It's great to see old school getting the job done attitude. Good luck to you guys. Fantastic idea
Love your rant!
Just signed up to invest. I wholeheartedly believe in you guys and what your doing at Edison Motors. Simple yet economical and effective Trucking is something that can't be overlooked. Carry on drivers. Can't wait to see what your future holds.

Amazing don’t stop get it done. Reinvent tracking amazing
love your mindset and you are right why reinvent the wheel when everything for trucks are avalible all it need is to be electric love it i wish you guys all the best in your company
2:20 minutes in and I’m 1000000% in!! You two are unbelievable!!!!!!
Can't wait to see a ride along video of Topsy haulin logs. I want to see it put to the test on grade fully loaded.
Good for you guys we need more like you.
Edison Motors TO THE MOON!
You two are on the right path. Keep it up!
Love you brother! You are doing amazing things! Greetings from Serbia :)
I wish these guys success
I got chills watching this one.
I wish you guys a huge amount of success. We'll probably see this in the next five or ten years!!
Brilliant story.
How can you not love these guys, greetings from France.
I love how you build your trucks. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic video. Much better than the "fully charged show" bullcrap that led me here,
Topsy is a bad mamma jamma , I've enjoyed watching your channel and your trucks grow , keep at it!!!
Holy cow you guys have almost half a million subscribers now!
Congratulations, that's super awesome 👍
God that truck is so cool. I love the topsy. Can't wait to see what the future brings for you guys
Been following you since Carl. Great to see your success.
idk if this truck or company will work out in the long term, but innovating without the exploitative and evil silicon-valley mentality is what we NEED.
I regret selling my
LandCruisers FJ 40 and 80’s. I’ve owned several, and today these 50 years old trucks still sell for more than they did at the dealer.
I love that you called it “silicone valley” 😂
Service friendly semi trucks are often well liked.
Tesla likes pushing the “the industry has held cars back” when really its “the industry realized that KISS works”
I also like how it LOOKS like a semi truck. It doesn’t scream “LOOK AT ME, I’M MORE ECO MINDED THAN YOU”
You guys are funny AF
Love the attitude and truck
🫡 From a fellow trucker
Y'all are aspiring. I'm working own motor and ev too!. Keep up the good work
Signed up for the investor notification, definitely not a super power financially but Ive seen time and time the success of crowd funding. Can't wait for the opportunity to own Edison Motors shares!
Awesome guys…. randomly came across your channel, and love it, being a history buff and EV fan I was captivated by Topsy (poor elephant) from the get go. Love what you guys have done and are continuing to do. Subscribed & shared immediately. Enjoy your passion and agree on the ‘you need people who knows trucks’ that’s so true. Keep up the cool R&D and cool videos. Love the generator part…. though not a trucker myself, this 53 yr old Australia would really really appreciate one of your trucks….. like the choice to run full time EV when one can and have the backup safety of a diesel generator, not to mention regenerative braking. You ain’t stolen nuthin’ from Tesla, you e simply filled a desperately needed niche / gap in the market. Keep up the great work. Always looking forward to the next video dropped from Edison Motors; ps. enjoyed the visit to China and the socialising there as well vid. You guys so deserve success.
Rooting for you guys 💪
