@@TheHonestAudiophile Hi I am Noel. I enjoy your programs on hi fi gear. I am a novice at this but like good wired music through headphones. Today I am getting the hifiman he6se v2 from amazon. I have a shanling m6 21 pro dap and I will see if that drives it well. If I need a amp for the overear headphones 50 Ohms 83.5 decibels what amp at a reasonable price would you suggest? God bless you Noel
@@noelsetterington9336 I'll add my 2 cents here since I have the HE6se V2. First off that's a great buy at $600. I'm surprised Amazon had the deal. It's usually just on Adorama. Here is the bad news... the HE6se V2 are very demanding and hard to drive and need a lot of power to push them to their fullest capabilities. Sort of like the Susvara needing major power but not quite that demanding. The EF400 DAC/Amp combo at $600 that I mentioned drives them pretty well as does the Schiit LYR 3 Hybrid Tube Amp at $500. If you are on a tight budget you could also look into something like the Monolith/Monoprice THX AAA 887 Balanced Amp. You would need to use the Balanced XLR or 4.4 balanced on the EF400 and Monolith 887 for the most power which will drive the HE6se V2 much more efficiently than the Single Ended 1/4. Personally I'd get the EF400 for the R2R DAC and the Amps power.
@@TheHonestAudiophile Thank you for the answer. Is there any genre you would recommend the DAC for? I'm more into classical / orchestral music. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
I would like a well iem under 600€. I consider that to be enough money and enough to enjoy music. I value a lot and would like to get with the purchase a natural sound, with great instrumental separation and if possible a good image as well. Can you recommend two or three options? I trust your judgement.
Hello. Does this dac have relay clicks when surfing the Internet? I currently have the FX-audio DR07 that is very annoying. Every new webpage sets of a click.
Hi Dave, I have Denon AH-D5200 headphones. What dac you recommend for those, mostly youtube and spotify quality music, sometimes flac and aac.. so which is best value dac for those denon`? thank you
I've not heard the Denon AH-D5200 so I'm not sure how it would pair but something like the Aune X1S T, JDS Labs Atom Plus stack should be good for a budget around $300. If the budget is more something like an Aune S9C Pro would probably pair nicely.
I think the X1s GT is the better sounding DAC but the K7 has more power. As for the preamp the Aune has variable output that I used going into my Schiit Vidar. I have no experience with Genelec speakers.
@@TheHonestAudiophile thanks, i think aune have 1200mw and fiio 2000mw to 32 ohms right`? is it there big step with them about listening? how you subscribe better sound for aune?
@juhanihiltunen6737 the Aune has a more open, spacious, musical presentation and the K7 has a darker, less airy presentation. Power for headphone is better on K7 but not a huge difference.
I'm doing well, thanks for asking. If the Cayin LA34 has RCA input then you could use the X1S GT as the DAC. I haven't heard either the LA34 or MR6 so I have no idea how it all would pair.
Hi I'm very new to this. I have a headphone cable with a 6.35 xlr I want to play balanced on a dap? What would the balanced connector be called that connects to a 6.35 connector on my headphone cable?
Hello Dave, I get this product couple months ago but I have some questions. I Have problem with setting it on max frequency 768khz, on windows audio device or aune software I'm stack on 380khz... Can't change it to bigger number. Secondly I can't hear the difference between profiles pure or standard... My aune is plug in to pc with win 10 with 3.0usb on back of my motherboard. I'm listening music with Sennheiser HD 660s on balance connection. My aune is with out Bluetooth. If you can give me some suggestions how to set it properly or maybe my unit is damaged? Thanks for video and any suggestions.
I'd make sure both the PC and the Aune drivers are updated. If you still have issues, I'd reach out to Aune customer support via their website. As far as the filter the difference are very subtle.
Thank you for this very interesting review! Does it work with an iphone connected to the usb port? And will I able to enjoy this way the 24-bit/192kHz maximum streaming quality of Apple music? Thanks a lot.
Good morning Dave ….listening 😋
Thanks for listening ❤
@@TheHonestAudiophile I’ve got enough of a stack of gear ..so I’m good ….for now 😋
Thanks Dave. I'm not familiar with Aune, but if you recommend them I'm good to go. Great Review! 👍
Interesting All In One unit. Check out the Hifiman EF400 DAC/Amp combo if you can. Great value at $600
Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it.
@@TheHonestAudiophile It's the first R2R DAC I've heard and I like it a lot. I understand why many prefer R2R now
Awesomeness! R2R is good stuff, I like it.

Thank you for the review! It lacks power. Maybe the Sabaj a10d is a better option.
Sorry haven't heard the Sabaj A10d
Have you had a chance to pair it with beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 250ohm headphones? Not sure if it's a good match even using balanced 4.4 output.
Sorry I haven't had the opportunity.

Sorry, I have never experienced, internet surfing relay clicks, with any DAC or amp that I have used.
sorry, but how it can suffer to drive high impedance headphones through balanced output when even JDS Atom with 1W/32Ohms doesn't suffer?

6.35mm or quarter inch as it is normally called is single ended. XLR is balanced. Are you asking about the adapter that goes from 3.5mm to 6.35mm?
