I heard their demo at the Munich show in May. They were paired with the Aune s17Pro and I had the WOW reaction. They were better than anything I heard at the show. Ofcourse I bought them. I am using them with the bluesound Node which sounds great, but I am aiming to buy the s17pro. This review is pinpoint. I agree with every word.

Love Aune sound, the s17 is excellent and I wanted to buy these phones to match up, unfortunately funds at this time of year are stretched.. So I plumbed for the Sony MDR-M1, Sony absolutely smashed it with this pair, at this price the build, comfort, and the sound are the best headphones under £400 - $500 out there. Currently £200 a must audition..

Aune S17 Pro is a nice sounding product in Class A mode, but it is a shit-product because it overheats after 1 hour of use. It's designed horribly. I can see no indication that the EVO version is any better in terms of heat dissipation. Reviews will tell I suppose.

Had been considering headphones but have preferred speakers for many years. Due to space constraints, tried going smaller with speakers and have enjoyed Dali Opticon 1s especially with a small sub. Speaker upgrades I am considering require larger sizes starting at 14 in and higher, so back to larger standmounts to get a worthwhile improvement but also it must work with a 55 watt amp I really like. Not all do.
Recently considered phones as a intermediary purchase as well as getting into headphones as it won't bother the neighbors. Cheap phones are ok for checking out new tunes and podcasts but going up in price makes it difficult especially when I have had limited experience.
Your review ticks all the boxes I am looking for and at the price, it isn't a big stress fest comparing reviews, price brackets, what they do well or not, etc. I probably wouldn't find much at under $200 hifi, once tried the HIFIMan HE400se which I thought were meh so returned those. Cheaper now but wasn't moved by the SQ.
Spending over a grand was difficult especially for a phone newbie, so these could be a great option. There are probably a few competitors in and around the price range so will look at that but do not want to waste alot of time comparing (like with speakers).

Sold them lately because they don't work with glasses. Bass is already not impressive but with glasses (then the pads don't seal perfectly) you loose nearly all deep bass.

    • @thefritz1
      @thefritz1 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I might even be the one who just bought them from you. Received them today. They are fantastic but they are indeed very sensitive to the seal you get with the pads. I measured mine on a miniDSP EARS rig and if I just placed them normally (= loose) on the rig, the bass is more than 20 dB (!) lower at 50 Hz ( and 30dB at 25 Hz) than with the proper clamping force and seal, also the bass rolls off already at about 300 Hz without seal. I have a rather big head and the seal is perfect for me with very good linear bass extension. They show more dependency on the pad-seal than my other closed-back headphones but if you manage to achieve a good seal, they are very, very rewarding with my aune s17pro and the Burson soloist 3x GT amps.

TA-26s has a slightly smoother and more natural flow of tones. It's what OTL amps excel at. But Gremlin with Select tubes has more punch, better transients response, and more deteils overall. It's also less fussy about impedane matching so I would have to give this one to Gremlin.

The problem is these are expensive headphones that according to your video in order to sing they need a amp at least another $600 or more. That brings the cost of these into the $1200 or more range. For most consumers the $600 cost of these headphones is out of their range, let alone the added $600 for the amp and this can only be considered a niche product not affordable by most consumers. I know that it is not your responsibility to only showcase affordable products, but just know the average consumer is not going to show interest in this niche product

Ironically he could play the best Dracula! He should dress up as Dracula and do a review - would get a lot of views

Thank you once again for your comprehensive and in-depth review of these headphones. In your options, is the price worth the upgrade from the AR 5000?

I don't have either. But read from a stranger that does have both. He said if you change the pads on the AR5000 they get close. He didn't mention which pads though

£997.00 now if you follow the link, interested to find out why?

I always link to US store because most of my viewers are there. Amazon does automatic redirection according to your region. But no matter that, that price difference is really stark.

Strangely it is also expensive in Asia, if they have it at al, but in Europe it's 639.

If you want to purchase them in the UK, get them from Eden Audio. The cost there is £535, but unfortunately they are out of stock now, you will have to wait until they get stock I guess.

„… is klling it“??? „TOTL SOUND…“??? This is a sign that this clip is not released with the necessary attention and time, obviously it has been rushed…

Because of language or because you know it to be less good performing?

Ironically the heading made me click on the video and I watched the whole thing and decided to buy them. Go figure the power of marketing and headlines

@@arrowzen7433 My only point is: the spelling mistakes (one corrected in the meantime) show that this clip was published in a hurry. That puts up the question whether the content of the clip is done with the necessary consideration. I have no opinion on the product.
