To me personally this is my budget king as a dac/amp combo…exact but cosy slidly warm sound. I use this as a dac (for the streamer and cd player) for my Dayens Ampino (there are only 2 inputs on this little dwarf) and as a headamp to for my Austrian Audio X65 headphones. It works great to me on both…highly recommended.
Thanks for extending your reviews to less popular but still high quality brands. I'd love to see a review of the flagship Aune S6 Pro DAC/Amp unit; A1future currently sells it for less than A$1,000 so it's worth checking it out. Best regards.
@@PassionforSound I'll share a somewhat exclusive piece of news too: Aune Audio informed me that next month (actually, this month, now) will most likely release a new flagship DAC in replacement of their discontinued S8. See if you can get a world-first review of that. 😀
I came here to test the glamour video on my new AKG N700NC M2. It sounds awesome :) AKG K371 is coming tomorrow from Amazon so I'll test more glamour videos on that also. I see that Passion for sound never reviewed AKGs so far. Would be nice to do so in the future
you guys not had any problems with the AKG 371? Mine sounded great but the microphonics from the cable drove me insane. Where I live I can't source an L shaped extension for the cable to keep it from brushing on my shirt
@@PassionforSound Aune is so underrated brand even tough its quality product! I have only one Aune and its the X8 Magic DAC and i love that little magic box ;)

I own a ath-msr7b headphone, a ath-r70x headphone and a hifiman sundara headphone. I would probably listen to the ath headphones the most, partially because they are light headphones. All 3 have balanced cables. Which headphone amp/combo do you recommend, between the su 6, aune and dx5? Or should I buy the su 8 to cover everything? Or the smsl 500? As well, which of these can I add the sparkos ss3602 to? Thanks
I don't think any of these have swappable op-amps, but I haven't checked. For me, I'd always lean towards separates like the SU-8S and SH-8S rather than an all-in-one, but the new SMSL M500 Mk3 is a good option for the price too
Not a combo I'd recommend as the X1S GT isn't up to the standard needed to make the Susvaras shine. It can drive them, but not to their full quality of detail and transparency

If you like AKG like me, you will love the samsung galaxy buds pro ( that's been reviewed by passion for sound) and the AKG k612 pro.
