Also, he is hurting himself because he is not outdoors, the indoors are affecting his mind in immediate spontaneous ways that make his actions violently hurtful. I'm glad his mother records it all, I hope he gains control and the ability to be very specific and detailed about how it all felt. Because he can't express himself nor get cure atm. I’m not seeing a lot of comments about the care taker she works hard to. she’s taking her time out to make him happy and I think she’s an amazing person.
Caretakers are special people to be honest. People don’t have to deal with people with special conditions unless they’re in their family, yet care workers choose to do it, even when it is unbelievably difficult work. Truly amazing.
J McFrenchie it is in fact his mind that is diseased/ improperly developed so, yes it is his mind controlling him. The mind is the ONLY thing that controls everyone
Ok, use me as a “Wow This Mom Is Insanely Incredible”. Finally a good mother included in one of these videos. Edit: for everybody telling me that there are plenty of great mothers in this series, that’s great- I’m sure there are!! In the episodes I saw, a lot of the mothers were not being who their child needed. All I was saying was that I’m happy this child is getting the kind of parent he requires. Have a great day, stay safe, and wear a mask (so weird to imagine this comment was written before COVID 😓😓)
Omg what a lucky kid to have been born into a family with so much love, compassion and support. So many parents would just put him in a group home. Davey and his family are truly a inspiration
I feel like it’s easy to imagine what a chronic illness is like and how it affects the people around someone with it, but there is so much that someone can never understand.
when i was in the hospital the guy next to me had the same thing as davey. he was one of the funniest, kindest kids i have ever met yet he couldn't. i will never forget him
His parents are by far some of the best parents. Although he does have a disability, his parents don’t let that define him and they ensure he lives life to the fullest.
Hana Song dude, OP was apologising for any offense taken by anyone if they thought comparing someone to a dog was offensive. You don't have to type out an entire paragraph which was totally unrelated, albeit informative

These parents (and siblings) deserve an award!!! They know they'll have limited time with Davey, and thus do their utmost to not only care for him, keep him from harming himself or others, but also to give him as much joy as possible! The caretaker and teacher as well! Taking care of a disabled child and involving them in activities isn't easy. Qnd yet, they are willing to go through the effort! I've watched quite a few of these videos in the past few days, but this one actually made me cry. It is both heartbreaking and wholesome at the same time! I wish Davey and his family & friends the best!!!
She probably does get really mad sometimes cuz I know from experience because my brother has a really similar disability to this dude. I think that the mother is great but there’s no way that she doesn’t have moments of frustration lol

He died. Probably of organ failure. Cerebral palsy affects how the brain works and it probably had a sort of biological glitch and stopped powering an essential organ or two.

You both are fantastic parents, and you have a wonderful family. It is so heart lifting you see a family that works together, and is happy in their skin. More people should be as caring towards their children, disabled or not.
Ben Dover Usually that would be covered in a will, so that in the case of the parents not being able to care for him his care will be turned over to another adult or even a care home where he can have 24 hour care.
He's got his four siblings -- his oldest sister is currently in the will to take custody of him when our parents pass away, and we'll figure something out together.

Also I just don’t want to post anything, even if it’s to prove to some adult guy that I went to school with a disabled kid in a video on TH-cam
It's not cerebral palsy but it is similar. The self-harm is a lot less like in depression, and alot more like in tourettes. (Though note he doesn't have either, these are comparisons) An example of self-harm in depressions would be: (feeling utterly empty and needing to feel some pain to feel alive) or etc. In tourettes it might be: (Trying to stay calm and not move, but a *pressure* keeps building until they must let it out, and they hit their arm against something or yell obscenities, or any other thing specific to each person.) Note that I don't know anyone with tourettes personally so this could be incorrect. For Lesch Nyhan, in Davey's words: ("It's like my brain sends a message, but it gets lost on the way and my body does something else.") It also seems similar to hiccups, in that you can still talk and be normal, but when the hiccup comes, it overpowers your usual control of your lungs and muscles involved. (Edit: fixed spelling)
he's got a beautiful face and smile he does not deserve this. And I dont mean that if he's "ugly" then he deserve this. Y'all are thinking that, not me.
My brother too has Lesch Nyhan. His name is Simon and just turned 17. We are from Denmark so we are very lucky the Danish healthcare system pays for sugerys and helps with stuff as wheelchairs, home helpers all day and our own van with a lift. Even lifts in our roof so we don't have to carry him around and hurt our backs. Hes a big boy around 6'2 (190 cm). Simon loves driving in the van and when he is most in peace its in the van in his wheelchair, its like all his symptoms disappear and he can just chill. We have 3 caretakers right now so they have don't have to go fulltime but 2 shifts a week. We gone through ALOT of caretakers some very good some very bad :D. 1 of the caretakers have been in Simos life in 10+ years so she is a big part of our family and even have a relationship with her parents and siblings. I loved this video and totally love Davey. Big ups to you guys for letting Davey have as great a life a lesch nyhan kid can have

The smile on the thumbnail made me click it,even tho he has a condition, he is always smiling and he looks happy. Such a cute kid and cute bubbly personality
Sorry, but even all the money of the world wouldnt be able to help this kid! What he needs, is a deliverance from a tormenting spirit that is living in his body and is doing harm to him. Pray to Jesus, to send a man of God, to do deliverance on him! May this becomes a testimony to men, of the power of God! Jesus worked this mirracle and did deliverance on a man, who lived in caves and was possesed by a legion of demons. The man was chained, but he would still manage to get the chains off and would torment himself non stop.
To the people who say his life isnt worth living i ask you this, what is a life worth living? What defines living compared to surviving? Life is love, family, joy, memories, and compassion shared between you and those you care about. Davey is living, not just surviving. Surrounded by constant compassion and love and aware of it/able to comprehend it too. His life is harder and certainly different than ours but he has a purpose, his life has a meaning, but he is not simply surviving. Davey is living
The Ravenous Twig Well what is a life worth living? It is dependent on the person. Personally I don’t care how much love I’m shown I don’t want to be a burden, so in his situation I would want to be put out of my misery. Others have different perspectives.

The boy smile were so kind and inocent.. he does't deserve that kind of state of his health..
The dedication is unreal
It's not cerebral palsy but it is similar. The self-harm is a lot less like in depression, and alot more like in tourettes. (Though note he doesn't have either, these are comparisons)
An example of self-harm in depressions would be:
(feeling utterly empty and needing to feel some pain to feel alive) or etc.
In tourettes it might be:
(Trying to stay calm and not move, but a *pressure* keeps building until they must let it out, and they hit their arm against something or yell obscenities, or any other thing specific to each person.) Note that I don't know anyone with tourettes personally so this could be incorrect.
For Lesch Nyhan, in Davey's words:
("It's like my brain sends a message, but it gets lost on the way and my body does something else.") It also seems similar to hiccups, in that you can still talk and be normal, but when the hiccup comes, it overpowers your usual control of your lungs and muscles involved.
