Today Secretlab announced their new Secretlab MAGNUS Pro which is an updated version of last year's metal desk that allows for built-in and magnetic cable management. They've also launched the MAGNUS Pro XL which is their larger desk (70" in length vs 59") for those who really want a lot of desk space.

Which desk length in the video?
Fun fact, if you go to order a pro desk right now, there's actually a lan cable management option that looks like it's going to be released soon, which solves that dangling lan cable.
Still not released. F
@@UnhingedNW Holy shit really?
@@aaronself2411 Yeah i went to window shop and noticed it still wasn't released. They need to up their accessory production. I wanted to get the different arm rests for my chair and they were always out of stock.
@@UnhingedNW not only that but most accessories are still preorder including the double monitor mount and as you said the Ethernet adapter
@@R0L0Z3RO Yeah they really need to up the production, because these add-ons would sell a lot. i love my chair but im not going to get that desk unless it has the things i need.
A big improvement, but always room for improvement.
Power to the leg should have the option of right or left leg, my sockets are to my right!
Perhaps offering both would allow for supplying 2 separate extension leads if needed.
Ethernet pass through is a must.
Perhaps the next iteration should open up colour options, table finishes.
The configurator has an addon the Ethernet
@@Freestyle117 but still marked as "soon"
Yes, indeed for the power, for me it's also at the right side of my desk. So for me it's also an issue. I don't know how long the power cord is?
Just ordered mine a few minutes ago, my only gripe is that I won't see it until February. That's a really long time to wait but, I looked at a lot of other desks and this one ticked all of my boxes.
Unboxing mine right now, dragging it up 3 flights of of stairs was a special kind of hell. How was your setup? Any fyi's you'd care to share?
@@whodat8048 Set up was super easy. I got the biggest one so needless to say, I feel your pain! Lol Took me about 30 minutes taking my time. Done!
I got it finished, took me about the same time, but I didn't flip due to doing it solo and being old. So a bit apprehensive. Hopefully, I can get another pair of hands.
After a long time thinking about getting one, I got my pro XL version delivered a few weeks ago and it really is a great desk, absolutely love it.
Came here looking for someone who would show the depth of the tray because I use a lot of elgato products.
You basically just saved me the trouble of buying ANOTHER desk from secretlab, only to find out that the cable management (which is the only reason I bought the desk) is the only thing I don’t like about the desk.
They actually have that ethernet extender/like the power. it's an extra payment though called "Secretlab LAN Cable Extension"
The only video ive found that represent my setup and the actual size of desk that I needed.. but, this video would be perfect if you use cm and kg.. thank you, sir🙏🏻
I'm glad I watched this video, as I currently have 3 monitors, a mic and a laptop stand mounted to my desk
Been looking for a new desk helped a lot
They have a smart LAN cable extender in the works...
I ordered the smaller version. I doubt my full size tower would fit in that PC holder. Man I wish my tower was smaller lol. My next PC will be a smaller form factor.
Modern WiFi with proper QoS is more than enough to forego the wired ethernet cable.
NICE I am going to switch one of these standing desk to replace my aging uncomfortable realspace desk. :)
Fun fact - in the UK, you'll most likely void the warrenty if you physically sit on your sit/stand desk.
Way better than my Apex Elite Desk.
The ethernet cable problem is resolved in a yet to be released accessory, it's on the website
The sad part is I can't tell if this is a joke 😂
@@TechAuditTV It's real, if you go to the purchase page and scroll down, the add on is there but it says coming soon "Secretlab LAN Cable Extension"
@@NanoNutrino Wow, just looked it up. C'mon guys! That shouldn't be an add-on!
@@TechAuditTV Yea it seems like a major oversight(Considering the marked they are going for, I haven't used wi-fi on my desktop pc in 10+ years), hoping the next iteration will have it built in the leg like the power supply 🤞(& maybe an option to swap what leg side you power it through)
the Ethernet problem was fixed but not with the desk you have to buy it separately
I was definitely looking into buying the desk, it looks nice and premium, but the Elgato mount situation is a bummer, How am I supposed to fit in my ring light ?
Thanks for the heads up !
May I know the sizes of your monitors in your video? thank you very much in advance
So many more cons with this desk in my opinion then pro's. I know this video was a couple of years ago. I want to be able to stream again soon so I won't be getting this desk unless secretlabs comes out with a better solution for streamers. Maybe they can come out with a Streaming desk.
Not able to mount 3rd party stands and accessories which are easily mountable to a standard desk is a big deal breaker IMHO. Already desk is super expensive and even if they release more mounts (which cannot happen anytime soon) such as for mic, elgato lights and 49" inch ultra wide heavy monitor that would mean spending on redundant items rather than using what I already have.
In a nutshell shell a standard desk can support it, Magnus pro should too.
Thanks for an awesome video! You answered my question about my existing monitor, mic and light mounts and clamps. This is a shame because I really liked this desk.
What about Stability, Any Shake on the Monitors when its raised up? Any Wobble at all?
Considering the XL although inhave x2 Lg 35inch ultrawides they weigh 6.6kg each are the monitor arms strong enough to support them.
Secretlab already announced the ethernet extension which you can buy
Hey. You have ‘The Kramer’ poster! Me too!
It's the best purchase I made 😂 th-cam.com/users/shorts25P3qffp1W8
hmmm the elgato mount looked doable without the wires in the way hmm.. seems doable
Looks like a killer desk! Just annoyed they don't have the power configurable so you could have it on the left or right! (Mostly as where my setup sits, having the power on the left leg would be a nightmare for cable management!)
Super curious if there was much wobble once it got to full height?
Also what are the LED tube things you are running in the background on your wall, they look awesome!
As long as your power strip has some length in its cable you can just move the powerstrip towards the other side. Should reach fine at that point.
6:10 I HAVE A BAD BACK so i have to Game and Work Standing up. Remember some people with disabilities ( back issues and wheelchairs ) will need a table like this. So i am saving money to get this, in my case Function is more important than form. i wont see the ethernet cable, etc
And even if you do see the ethernet cable, as long as you don’t run into it/over it, it’s not that big of a deal.
I’ve gotten tired of dealing with Apple wireless keyboards/mice/touchpads due to various things like older ones needing replacement batteries as well as interference (living apartment life, radio spectrum sometimes overcrowded) or, in the newer Apple devices, you have to plug in every so often to recharge, so what’s the real value of it being “wireless” if you need to at times recharge, and always keep the cords around?
I’d imagine many gamers don’t want wireless even without local radio interference issues if only because of latency and liking RGB lighting (power-heavy).
I really enjoyed the video. Very informative and everything I was looking for
What about mounting a steering wheel?
What size power bricks will fit in the tray for you to connect all your power to? Any recommended models?
Brandon, I appreciate you putting this video out just for me 😂
Fantasized about getting this comment during the entire edit.
@@TechAuditTV 😂
I assume the elgato low profile mic arm won't work on this desk either? :(
3:50 Update: They have Magnetic snap on covers for hiding cables that need to come up the legs by the way. Hide your Ethernet cable under them. It's what I'm doing when my Magnus Pro arrives. Still on Pre-Order.
Has the desk arrived? How long have you waited ?
@@johnwilliam8366 Was ordered in Oct. Arrived in Feb. It took 4 months to get all the boxes. 4 shipments to me over a 2 week period. Which was annoying because the first thing to arrive was the Desktop. Leg box came last 2 weeks later.
Did the magnetic covers only work on one section of the leg? I.e the part that doesn't move..?
They did fix the ethernet cable part
Apparently there is an ethernet add on coming... they must have seen your video
Hi, nice video!! It looks like the monitor arm goes beyond the back of the desk. By how long please?
FYI, Elgato is providing a weighted base for Multi Mount (which should solve your Ring Light issue)
they have a lan attatchment coming out this coming year to solve that problem
It wobbles while u just knock a bit on it? Wow
Do the mounts work in a stacked formation?
Thoughts on third party monitor arms? In particular the Ergotron LX
Oh wow! Just got to your point with the elgato mount, doesnt look good!
can the monitors stack on top of each other or only next to each other ?
What is ur keyboard I really like it?
Why does it take so long to get the desk after it’s ordered. It’s April and I ordered the desk in February.
If I saw off that elgato mounting arm screw plastic lever, will it fit do you think? My mounting options are elgato.
Could you please give us an update abt the nzxt creator pc u bought a couple months ago..?
It's on my video list! Any specific things you would like covered in the video?
How well has it been running games, Any lags or unexpected shutdowns. And most importantly have the Cpu and the Gpu stay at a average temperature for really long periods of time.
I have elgato mounts so what am I suppose to do?
Does the table wobble when is heightened?
Great video. this is my first time seeing your content and I enjoy it very much. I agree with you that they are missing their target audience with these little mistakes. How do you would solve the issue with the internet cable? btw I love your standing lamp, what brand is it?
As another commenter mentioned, they're going to release a LAN cable extender. To see it, you have to go to the "shop now" option on the web page for the Magnus Pro desk, then go down to the "Accessory Add-ons" tab (number 4) on the right-hand side of the webpage. It's not listed in the shop yet as far as I can tell since they haven't released it yet. If you click on the little picture, you can see what it will look like.
In the meantime, you could probably get the Secretlab Cable Management Bundle and run the LAN cable through the magnetic cable sheaths similar to how he showed running the power cable on the original Magnus desk. You would of course need to be careful that you leave enough slack if you're going to adjust the height of the desk with that interim solution.
Seems good think I’m gonna wait till the 2nd November too order though. That’s if you can get it in a uk 3 pin variant
That cable management system is not worth sacrificing the back edge and the depth of the desk. Issues are better dealt with a couple of grommets and a cable tray. The price is not very good when you compare it to something like the offerings from Uplift Desk that has a solid bamboo desktop instead of multi-density fiberboard, a free under desk bamboo drawer, lots of other freebies and a 15 year warranty instead of 5. Their desk looks classier too.
But why do you sacrifice the back edge ? Mount your PC underneath, use a monitor arm and that's the heavy bits sorted. Having a few speakers on it makes no real difference given you'll only need to access it once in a blue moon.
I've watched few unboxing and I noticed that most of them have the damaged box😅
I was wondering about the LED stripe, does it came with the desk or you need to buy it seperately?
Unfortunately, the light strip is sold separately.
they webble wobble but they don't fall down
Looks like a very nice desk! Great review!
How’s the wobble? There’s always wobble
Does the double monitor mount allow for enough movement for say... if I wanted to be able to alternate my left or right monitor towards a centered position as primary monitor? Like if I used my 24" monitor as primary centered for gaming - and then want to be able to quickly move my 27" monitor to centered field of view for video editing etc? That way I wont have to keep moving my mouse/keyboard/peripherals.
Don't think such a product exist. I did think about it. Wide-screen for general use and flight sims and a smaller screen for playing other games. If you want to do that you have to be creative and not use desk mounts but wall mounts?
They sell internet cabel add on for the table legs
Amazing Video!!! Keep up the great work
Thanks Sammy!
@@TechAuditTV are you saying I can’t mount my boom arm (rode PSA1) and my two elgato streaming lights ?
@@TechAuditTV great video thought BTW! I was about to buy it and I think you convinced me otherwise. I’m gonna just keep my Magnus original desk
Great video. Can you link the colored lights that you have in the IKea lamp. Thanks.
Yep they are bulbs from Yeelight! I did an entire video on them and in the description of that video you'll find links: th-cam.com/video/LzvfVwTU3sY/w-d-xo.html
@@TechAuditTV thanks appreciate it.
It's nice but the price tag is way too extreme, like a snake biting me hard telling me to go away! That's fine I'll shop elsewhere! 😂
Bossman does the monitoring gigabytes G27g support hdmi 2.1 cos am about to buy one like yours
Love the review and I want this!!
4:32 You're funny dude
nice video.i really liked it!! Thanks😀👍
i hear it wobbles like hell
It does, the higher it is, the more it wobbles. I dunno if the issue was already addressed by magnus.
If I bought this desk could it support a 45 inch ultra wide monitor?
its 1.7metres width im pretty sure it will
Sucks that elgato clamps dont fit.. Looked like the best desk for me, but i use the Elgato LP mic arm
Hey I have the XL desk, and my 2 Elgato mounts do fit. It takes a little bit of work, but you won’t have a problem
@@itscinegee how did you get it to work?
@@SenkoKitsune Just push the clamp on as far as it will go. It will be secure
@@itscinegeeI have elgato clamps as well so the xl one is the only way for it to work instead of the regular pro?
Will this desk support 2 32 itch monitors?
Yep!
They are releasing an accessory to address that ethernet issue you mentioned
Damn that desk looks clean, might need to grab one myself :O
So you have to buy the RPG extra?
Damn, I’m really glad I watch this because I was just about to pull the trigger on one of these. I run an odyssey G9 I which most monitor arms can’t support, I’m willing to guarantee their monitor arm can’t support it, and I do like the monitor arm that I’m currently using. Looks like this one is a no go. #BigSad
@@KB-ie2oi I got two IKEA Idasen frames, an IKEA countertop, and a controller box from Linak to control the two sets of actuators in unison. Pretty solid.
@@KB-ie2oi the monitor arm I went with I believe is the AXIS one rated for 50lbs
WHAT WERE UR MONITORS
Does the desk wiggle much? Or is it extremely sturdy?
Might be too late for you, but I just got mine this past weekend and the whole thing is the most sturdy desk I've ever owned. There are machined guide slots and pegs in the parts that make sure you have everything lined up before you screw things in, there's really no room for it to wiggle at all. On top of that (and possibly a downside for some people) it is extremely heavy due to being almost entirely made of steel, so it will require a lot of force to move it as it is.
I've just ordered one but have seen deskhaus on TH-cam showing that it wobbles like hell. Glad you clarified that as I think he's a shill that loosened some bolts.
shakey if 2 legs. monitors on arms will wobble. even the ikea idasen buttress triangle legs wobble. get a 4 leg desk with connected strut if you want pure stability.
Is this the smaller version of the desk?
Yep! This video shows the MAGNUS Pro which is the 59" model. The MAGNUS Pro XL is 70"
Is this desk still shocking people a year out?
Wondering if I should get this desk. Anyone use it with Samsung odyssey g7? I have 2X 32inch models thanks.
You could easily circumvent the Lan cable issue by using powerline adapters. These allow you to route your internet connection over the mains with minimal connectivity loss. Also Secretlabs is releasing and additional accessories (Secretlab LAN Cable Extension) to solve that issue for 35 dollars.
The LAN cable extension has been listed as "Coming Soon" for the last 8 months, who knows when it'll actually come out...
Why didnt you do a wobble test?
looks like is bowing in the middle
So this would be no good to me since I have triple monitors and also the elgato lights.... and a mic boom arm.
The triple monitors wouldn't be a problem if you added the PC Mount, but yeah, the Elgato lights are no good with this desk, sadly.
@@TechAuditTV what about if I have my 3rd monitor above the other 2? Would that work? I guess what I'm asking is if the monitor mount extends that high?
@@JRAM7 Ahh that's a great question. I would say no. I'm condering doing a more extensive review of their monitor arms since they don't have to be used with a Secretlab desk, and while overall they are really nice, there are some things to consider when purchasing them, especially with the price tag they threw on them.
So in your case, the desk itself would hold that monitor layout, you would just need to find a mount for the monitors that would work with the Secretlab desk.
@@TechAuditTV exactly. The desk is beautiful but for that price tag it has to work for my configuration. Haha. If only I knew the answer before buying or even if there is an alternative solution would be great and I would definitely buy the desk.
@@JRAM7 Makes sense! With the MAGNUS Pro (and XL) whatever mount(s) you'll use will need to fit within the 4" of clearance you have inside the cable management tray. So any mount from the very bottom to the bottom clamp will need to be under 4". And ideally you'll want a mount that you can tighten from the top, not underneath like most clamps.
i think thst is awsome man .
Thanks a lot. I didn't realize they were lying about thier 80cm deepth. Saved me a 1.000€ right there.
That's for the XL
regular Jysk/IKEA table is about 120x60cm and its enough for me when we talk about depth. So this one is the same 60 cm depth + 30cm additional width that much more important imho
talk to me when an L-SHAPE come out.
Long Form Content LFG!
A 23 inch deep desk is a non-starter. A deep desk is much better.
Why didnt you address how wobbly this desk is or was this paid content?
Wireless? Literally sees cord in thumbnail.
Way to wobbly at max height - no good for tall people - need a four legged version for the win.
complain for others that the desk is wobbly
Yeah I already pre ordered it XDD
Hope you enjoy it!
@@TechAuditTV I do to !
EIGHT HUNDRED FOR A DESK? MIGHT AS WELL BURN YOUR MONEY😢
