I really want the OG Magnus because I want / need an L-Shape Desk for my 49" PC monitor and my Xbox Series X 32" monitor. I really have no need for a sit to stand desk but my only concern with the original Magnus desk is mounting my mic arm....I heard from others it's a real pain / next to impossible to mount mic arms, monitor arms and anything that isn't Secret Lab made on the OG magnus...I hope they fix these issue when I decide to buy it within the next 6 months or so. Yes, I've seen another reviewer demonstrate the wobble, its scary when its at max height. I was planning to order the desk til I saw the video. I hope they will address the issue soon.
@@tsunami6253 I just received mine and have been using for a couple of weeks, the wobble is decent on carpet with thick underlay, however, this is due to the carpet and mostly an issue caused by the 25mm feet on the legs... I was planning on removing the feet to make it more stable but within a week of use the feet must have compressed the underlay and now it's quite stable. On hard floors it's very stable. My sister has a Steelcase migration SE Pro with the smaller desktop size and it is also quite wobbly on carpet too. IMHO the issues with the desk are mostly related to the accessories, especially with the monitor brackets. They monitor brackets aren't strong enough for anything over maybe 27 inches, in fact at that size you're really pushing the limits and have to crank up the rebound spring to the max. The cable management in the arms is also very limited in capacity and only good for roughly 1 x power cable, 1 x HDMI cable and maybe 1 x USB cable... I've run a really small diameter USB-C to DP cable, HDMI cable, power cable and a USB cable to my monitors and the magnetic piece of the cable management pops off... it's enough of an issue I just wrapped a Velcro cable tie around them so they wouldn't fall off. I'll be looking for a thin HDMI cable or a new monitor bracket I think. Also the bracket for the monitor is quite thick / large in depth, to the point that the gap between the back of the bracket and the front of the cable tray is so small that the cable on my Surface dock gets snagged on it all the time and I had to Velcro cable tie it down so it wouldn't move within the cable tray when I plug and unplug my Surface The cable tray also isn't very deep, I can't fit my MacBook charger in the tray with the powerboard sitting in the bottom, I had to turn the board sideways which makes it a pain to plug in and unplug, my solution was just to leave an IEC C8 cable plugged in and plug the charger into that instead.
My current desk is 124 inches long and 33 deep, with 34 inches out of the corner to hold a 3d printer. I wish they offered some options on them for size and controller location
After almost a year of using the desk, what do you think about it? I was looking at the desk along with several others. But couldn't get behind the idea of using a metal desk-top over a wood one. Since wood makes a nicer sound while typing, and has less hollow to it than a metal one would I've just never had good experiences with metal desks, and my current plastic desk is driving me insane in every way. A standing desk is so far the last thing that I need to complete my pc setup. For optimal gameplay, and optimal competitive play. Since I'm looking to aim train the hell out of myself once all is done Is the desk fully metal, has any corrosion come of it? And bending of the desktop, any malfunctions with the controls, bump protection, or overall with the leveling? Esc, you get what I'm getting at hahahah, just getting really tired of looking at possible standing desks that I should consider Would you prefer MojoDesk Solo Cube over this one? Or do they have certain outweighing pros and cons
The suggestion of wood imitation pads is an interesting one, although personally I don't think I'd use it. I love a wood desk top but if it's not a real one I'd rather go the plain black. Or maybe white, not sure.
I was so liking this but decided to go with the Mojo Desk , magnetic tray and wheels. I like to move my desk a lot to give me options and i can upgrade, unhook or hook up any accessories with ease.
Just ordered the desk! One thing is that the XL comes in 2 different boxes and the legs are arriving a month after the tabletop... a little frustracting but worth the wait!

Great review. A few questions, #1 was the wobble test at full standing height? #2 I have the dual Jarvis monitor C clamp mounting arms. So wondering if the table would allow to clamp general mounting arams of I would be stuck buying secret lab monitors mount system?
I'm "a pro" and I'm thinking about getting this desk for a custom made drawing table basse or maybe for my Wacom cintiq. Adding a fake wood print option will definitely NOT make this product more appealing for "pros"...actually you couldn't be more far off with that statement :P What pros look for is practicality, features and longevity/robustness. For instance for me, what I'm looking for is a strong (able to support my body leaning on it when I draw), adjustable height desk which won't wobble at any height setting. If it was pink or lime green but rock freaking solid, I would be buying it anyway.
Great review. I'm looking into purchasing this desk but I'm worried that the setup I'd like to have won't fit. I'd like to have a 49" ultra-wide with 7" studio monitors. Haven't made up my mind at which studio monitors I'd like to go for yet but do you think it'll fit comfortably on the pro XL desk?
Hard to say without actually trying it; different studio monitors have different builds, some wider than others. I use the Adam A7Vs which are slim and save space vs something like the Focal Alpha Evos which sound great but are fat. Also keep in mind you'll want to tilt them inward a bit, you may end up needing 5" monitors for the best fit. Whatever you decide I'd super appreciate you using my links.
Thanks a lot for the video, really useful content :) The production values are great too and I have of course liked and subscribed! If you have a floor mounted PC, I'm assuming you'll need to buy the yet to be released PC bracket or the cables will stretch as the desk rises, is that correct please? I hope you heal soon too, sounds painful
I agree with the colour options request. Is the built in power in the left hand leg only, or can it be installed either side? As that would suck if you're limited on positions.
It is! Well, still hurts after a while if I try to sleep on that side but full mobility is back, will eventually try working out again with reeaaallly light weights
Bro I can tell you this I have one of the 300 dollar ones. The wobble is crazy and the 300 didn't include a nice table top and absolutely zero cable management. This is so much nicer than the amazon budget ones.
@@TechGuy42ilm Yeah you're right, with secret lab at least you know you're getting something high quality. I didn't really take that into consideration when I made my comment.
What you think about the width? I have saw you have big stereo right there does the desk sink in the middle or it is bulky enough for sustain the weight?
6:08 Why you didnt show in the standing mode??? Saw so many sponsored videos and noone is showing the wabble test in stading mode... I just found one not sponsored video and its shows the table is not rly stable... disapointing.
Was wondering exactly the same thing. Being steady at regular height when sitting is not much of a test. How is at extended height when you're standing? The fact the desk doesn't have a cross bar connecting the two legs probably means less stability when the center of gravity is higher up. How is the stability side to side as well as front to back? That's the problem with these kinds of reviews. The stability of the desk at extended heights from other reviewers was pretty disappointing. It's not a little wobble (although some owners are saying there isn't a problem). It's a pretty big one without much effort needed to make it happen. There is still the current product defect with the power outlet in the leg. Apparently, it can cause shock to the user with Secret Labs emailing owners not to use it due to possible shock hazard. Did Secret Labs actually get that fixed for current owners or are they still waiting for that months after the fact?
@@kgjung2310 Its so disspointing seeing all the reviews of this table and noone was doing the staanding wabble test. Im going to buy the destopia pro because that desk looks way more stable then this lol
Finally Secret did this table, it look like, for me the color is good, because my setup is White/black, but on the otherside, different colors could be better such as Magnetic Pad, I dont like so much that Team Pads
There are holes on the front and back of the side tray that connect it to the main tray. It's not big enough to run a ton of cables through, I'd say maybe 5-6 cables depending on thickness but it's there

Secretlab sent me one, I don't know how supplies are, if they had just a few to give a few creators or what the situation is but looks like my editing monitor is a few lbs over the max weight of the arm anyway lol
About how many watts does the Magnus Pro desk draw while in motion? I keep my PC stuff on a beefy UPS thanks to glitchy power, so if the desk uses a lot of power to move, then I won't really be able to use the pass-through power port for the PC.
That was a concern too as well as things like lotion or oils or drinks leaving water stains behind but so far so good. If you end up buying huge props should you use my link
Ok, i want to use the magnus pro xl for my music studio setup, would you suggest it for music studio usage? I have a pair of barefoot footprint 03’s monitors that i want to put on the desk.

1. I know it’s sponsored, but be great if you hit the desk with real force, not just acting. Desk does not look stable after first few „harder” hits then you started to hit it very light. Can you prove any way it is more stable? Most important part. 2. Magnet in prev. model has known problem that caused a „bubble” on the center of desk, is it still there?
I assure you I didn't fake anything, I've done negative reviews over Secretlab products before and always give honest opinions. Maybe it's because my collarbone is broken on my main arm so I used my weak arm in the video but I used a good amount of force. Haven't noticed any kind of bubble so far
@@JacobDarkOfficial Hi, The comment wasn't meant to be offensive, but on the video it looked like you didn't want to shake it harder. If it's a honest review, I have to return you my honor. Thanks for replying, have a good day!
I dont know why your issue of him hitting isnt hard enough when the real test would be trying to push it back and forth. I mean are you actually smacking your desk on the daily? No me neither. I have a shitty desk, that when im typing it causes my screens to wobble all over the place, im sure with general use, it doesnt actually wobble....unless again, youre smacking the shit outta it.
@@JacobDarkOfficial Thats what i was saying. You wouldnt smack your desk. So a more accurate test would be to type quite a bit on the keyboard, or some sort of back and forth sway as if you were leaning on it, or something like that. Im not sure why anyone would want a test that shows you that it can wobble when hitting it (just about anything not nailed to the floor would right?) but more of, how noticeable general use would wobble and shake the screen (especially using the new mounts). Just my 2 cents.
I am pretty sure that the power in the leg thing is not innovative and has already been done before... My adjustable height desk in my office which is 3 years old at least has this feature.

Great Job Jacob!
yo i dont rlly care about the desk tbh but your mic quality is excellent dawg good work
Thanks a lot for the video, really useful content :) The production values are great too and I have of course liked and subscribed!
Left hand only as far as I'm aware
That power cable for the leg looked really long.
Haha, I also broke my collarbone on a scooter. Hope your recovery is going well!
It is! Well, still hurts after a while if I try to sleep on that side but full mobility is back, will eventually try working out again with reeaaallly light weights
So did anyone else like this desk? not many reviews on it so I'm curious on who has it or not. There's alot of pros and cons about it.
1k though? I love secret labs chairs but you can get a similar size sit to stand desk on amazon for between 250 and 350 dollars.
Made out of the same materials, with the same design and features? Curious tho link one, most standing desks I ve seen are in the 800-1500 price range
Thnx for Sharing!
What you think about the width? I have saw you have big stereo right there does the desk sink in the middle or it is bulky enough for sustain the weight?
It handles the weight with ease, it's a tank for sure, it can handle close to 200 lbs, I probably have about 100
6:08 Why you didnt show in the standing mode???
Im going to buy the destopia pro because that desk looks way more stable then this lol
i want an option to impart my own picture for the mag pad
Finally Secret did this table, it look like, for me the color is good, because my setup is White/black, but on the otherside, different colors could be better such as Magnetic Pad, I dont like so much that Team Pads
I hear you, I've emailed them a couple of designs I think would be great, mainly the white and wood tone but we'll see what they do!
Very informative 👏
At 13 amps at 110 in the US that’s not even 1500 watts: what voltage were you figuring with? Few US outlets are more than 110 in homes (nominal).
Are you sure, that the side cable tray is intentional? At 4:34, because all the promotion materials from Secretlab has no holes in those side trays.
There are holes on the front and back of the side tray that connect it to the main tray. It's not big enough to run a ton of cables through, I'd say maybe 5-6 cables depending on thickness but it's there
@@JacobDarkOfficial That is freaking great. Currently I am having microphone usb cable, hdmi and power cable for my work laptop at the one side with 3 usb cables powering my 2 headsets at the other. This pretty much solves all the painful cable routing. Thank you for the answer! And wish you speedy recovery!
@@korynkaaaa Thank you! If you end up ordering I'd super appreciate you using my link!
When you raise the desk for standing how is the stability?
I saw that your mic arm fit. Is it one with a clamp? It looks very similar to mine and am wondering how you fit in there? I was under the impression it's a bit too shallow in the shelf for cables?
It's the Warm Audio WAMBA and yes it fits, this tray is deeper than the original Magnus. If you decide to buy I'd super appreciate you using my link!
@@JacobDarkOfficial I already own one that is similar that's why I asked. My Manus Pro is on the way and I was wondering if I'd have to forgo using the boom arm. I love it so much. Thanks for the video. :)
It's funny that you said a white version. I asked them yesterday if they would come out with a white magpad and they said stay tuned. They have a grey one now with the assassin's creed version.
Yea that AC magpad and chair are fire! Hopeful my suggestions turn into reality, I'd love a white or gray wood magpad to swap
I hate gamebrand covers, because instead of creating generic colours, or patterns, a cool one has a nasty AC logo on it. Sucks :/
Damn, now I want this desk. Can't afford to spend so much money on it, though
How did you already get a monitor mount?? It says you can only pre order them as of right now.
I'd reach out to Secretlab for that answer as I have no way of knowing.
Hi there, wanted to know if the surface is fingerprint resistant? (Do we see marks)
That was a concern too as well as things like lotion or oils or drinks leaving water stains behind but so far so good. If you end up buying huge props should you use my link
For someone who plays flight sim, is it possible to use hotas table mounts on that leather mat thing?
Not sure about that one, maybe ask Secretlab directly
Nice vid 🙂
Thanks!
anyone know which tripple monitor mount works for this desk? because of they limited space from the cable management.
Are your monitors standing with their feet on the cable management systems lid? Or i front of it?
In front of it, the lid isn't strong enough
Ok, i want to use the magnus pro xl for my music studio setup, would you suggest it for music studio usage? I have a pair of barefoot footprint 03’s monitors that i want to put on the desk.
other question is the depth of the xl 800mm including the traylid?
I'm not sure how big the footprint (no pun intended) is of those monitors but as long as they're not overly big you should be just fine. Should you decide to buy I'd super appreciate you using my link
Thanks i will when i made my decision, did you see my other question? I believe its 800mm incl the traylid right?
Wobble test while the desk is leaning against the wall is pretty useless for me. I would have it standing free in the room. Doesn’t it wobble then?
It's not against the wall, I have acoustic panels up so there's about 3-4 inches between the desk and panels
@@JacobDarkOfficial oh, that’s good to know. It seem quite stable then. Thanks for the info!
@@IAmKenArts absolutely! If you end up ordering I'd super appreciate you using my link!
Missing a monitor stand for a large 49 in Monitor.
now you have the option for a double monitor arm
this good for livestream for this desk?
Yep! Though I think any desk would be fine. If you decide to buy I'd super appreciate you using my link 💯
Do you play games on Mac Mini M1?
@@JacobDarkOfficial Hi,
The comment wasn't meant to be offensive, but on the video it looked like you didn't want to shake it harder.
@@scotttimbrell8632 It takes significant smacks to get any wobble, under regular use you'll be fine
It’s 1000 bucks
Now though man that’s crazy sit and stand desk u cna get for around 300 now a days and that’s not a cheaply made one
There are definitely a range of options price wise, it definitely isn't for everyone
Go Birds! 🦅
anime mag pads id give them all my money for them if they were good ones lmao
link does not show pro XL
It's just a general link to Secretlab website, as long as you clicked it to get to their site it'll count
Do you think it can hold two monitors and a pc on top with extra space left? Also I don’t think the pc mount attachment can hold my pc.
27" monitors yes, 32 might be pushing it, I'd measure the length of all your peripherals and then see how it would fit on a 70" surface
@@JacobDarkOfficial Thanks cause i’m thinking about putting two 24inch monitors and a pc on top
24" for sure you're good, if you order I'd super appreciate you using my link!

I am pretty sure that the power in the leg thing is not innovative and has already been done before... My adjustable height desk in my office which is 3 years old at least has this feature.
Fair enough, 18K views and you're the first to comment you've seen it before, safe bet most haven't so still new to most of us
lol the wobble test is like weird

All day! Just ordered a helmet to go on that case in the background
Glad i didnt get the first verion i enjoy the content especially when it comes to secret lab and i trust your reviews so please heal up and get back to work 😆 jk
