  • Saanen 1985 - Question #4 from Question & Answer Meeting #3
    'How can our limited brain grasp the unlimited, which is beauty, love and truth? What is the ground of compassion and intelligence and can it really be upon each one of us?'
    This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
    The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
    We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
    Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

    When crazy people are talking about connecting our brain with AI to 'expand our consciousness', I come to listen to JK.

      Spot on. I've met a lot of people who think they found "God" on the internet but it's just man listening to man.

      @Seven Grant nah man, I'm a machine learning engineer, and can tell you for sure that code is just memory made to keep on running on a motherboard. What K talks about is something beyond thought (and that's all I know about it, obviously, I've not seen it). The tool is a product of evolution, but both tools and evolution are jus accumulations. I'm quite certain they can't replace whatever aspect of consciousness is left when you remove everything that has accumulated, which I'm assuming is responsible for me being able to 'see' at all, as opposed to a picture of me (and code is just a moving picture), which only exists as a consequence of the past and (probably) doesn't know anything.

    Paradoxical truth of Individuality=Indivisibility. Questioner was interested in the limited Vs the unlimited. While K is saying only by letting go of self, ego, could we understand we're the unlimited, the potentiality, the Pathless Land. The false identification through millenniums led to divisions, hierarchy and organizations hence conflicts, sufferings and wars, the whole human drama. Let go and let Beauty, love and truth be done in this limited vessel. Thanks for the flame.

    The existence of TH-cam is justified by being able to present this man’s teachings to the world. Perhaps truth isn’t a painless land after all. Follow this man and find out.

    One cannot invite beauty, compassion, love, truth. It awakens in you when the instrument of understanding, that is thought, subsides. Thought is NEVER going to identify itself with the compassion, love, Truth and say, I'm compassionate I know Truth, I know love.

    Take K's point that many meditations(satipatana,zazen) may seem a selfed no self contrived to begin with. They do however start to crack open and loosen the stronger previously notion-ed self form. If you stick with them eventually a more spontaneous effortless being may arise that K describes.

    How does one get an insight which then brings about instant transformation n understanding? Can it be obtained thru reasoning, self introspection, listening to discourse? No... There's no question of time involved so it has to be some heightened awareness which does not involve any effort

    It cant. And don't let anyone! anyone! tell you otherwise. It's a scam by the person telling you they can, to one-up you infinitely, because you're the one asking the question. Just enjoy what you've got and relax because it's not necessary for you to grasp the unlimited to be able to live in it anyway. That's the beauty of life.

  • @return60
    @return60 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So the answer is No, I suppose. The limited brain cannot grasp the unlimited. The brain, armed with the five senses, perceives via symbols and thus can't grasp things that exist beyond symbols. Just like trying to see the invisible with the naked eye.
