Nice work overall. The colour of the inside of hatches should be the same as the exterior colour though. The Germans recognized that the off-white interior colour compromises the camouflage scheme when a hatch is open. I would also suggest pressing the tank down into the groundwork a bit to avoid it appearing to "float" over the road.

Panzerfaust 60
This was the most common version, and was completed in early 1944. However, it did not reach full production until September 1944, when 400,000 were to be produced each month.[21] It had a much more practical range of 60 m (66 yd), although with a muzzle velocity of only 45 m (148 ft) per second it would take 1.3 seconds for the warhead to reach a tank at that range. To achieve the higher velocity, the tube diameter was increased to 5 cm (2.0 in) and 134 g (4.7 oz) of propellant used while being a total length of 104 cm (41 in). It also had an improved flip-up rear sight and trigger mechanism. The weapon now weighed 6.1 kg (13 lb). It could defeat 200 mm (7.9 in) of armour.
Panzerfaust 100
This was the final version produced in quantity, and was completed in September 1944. However, it did not reach full production until November 1944.[21] It had a nominal maximum range of 100 m (330 ft). 190 g (6.7 oz) of propellant launched the warhead at 60 m (200 ft) per second from a 6 cm (2.4 in) diameter tube. The sight had holes for 30, 60, 80 and 150 m (260 and 490 ft), and had luminous paint in them to make counting up to the correct one easier in the dark. This version weighed 6 kg (13 lb) and could penetrate 220 mm (8.7 in) of armour.

It doesn't matter if it's historically accurate modeling is about having fun and loving what you do it is a hobby and it looks great and nice job keep it up
You're not wrong, unfortunately there are people out there who sometimes forget that and like to make sure you know. I generally fall somewhere in the middle, I like to make my kits as accurately as possible, but often times will sacrifice accuracy for artistry. However, in this case, it was just poor research on my part, still I'm happy with the results. thanks for watching!
@@HammerheadModelMaking there is nothing wrong with historical accuracy and some people just have to put their two cents into it as far as research as long as I have the right division company and army in the correct TOA that's good enough for me of course having good books and letters from the time. This type of work is truly inspirational. At the grand age of, sixty five, well not quite sixty five but pretty damn close, I am getting back into modelling after dabbling in it on, but mostly off, over the years. Not having to work now I have more time to hopefully get to a much better standard than I ever achieved before. I'm not going to beat myself up though if I can't match the wonderful work that the likes of yourself and many others who I follow on TH-cam produce. I just want to have fun and see where it takes me. I've just completed the Revell 1/144 Space Shuttle and Booster kit. Not a good kit, the fit of the orbiter was shocking. I'm pleased how it turned out though. What you have done in this video is the type of thing I am aiming at and I really appreciate the time and effort you have taken to put it out. I'm starting with the older Tamiya armour kits from the late sixties, early seventies as they are great value, especially with the couple of discount vouchers I was able to use. First off is the Tamiya Panzer Kampfwagen 2. Also have the Kampfwagen 4, Leopard and Panther in line. Anyway I've waffled on enough. Best wishes from a new subscriber from the UK.

When properly applied, visual interest and artistic freedom can trump accuracy in a model. Exact reproductions can be tricky. I think its the 'feeling' of the build and painting that conveys the historical accuracy. I've followed you for quite a while now and I really admire your work. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and skills!!

Very well done with the diorama, I quite like it. I was just wondering if you could give some advice on what are the basic materials a person needs to create such dioramas. I have built and painted a couple of vehicles and i wouldn't mind creating little dioramas for them. Hope your channel grows in the future!
Sure thing, most of the tools and materials in this video are ones that I would use often on a diorama, but at the base level, you'll need something to build up the diorama on, in this case I used a block of Styrofoam, but it would be a piece of wood, a picture frame, any hard surface really. Depending on the type of terrain you'd want to do, you may need some sort of plaster and dirt/sand/gravel. As for vegetation, that's going to be a little more difficult, as it will be very specific on where your diorama takes place, but there are websites out there dedicated to selling vegetation in various scales. I would say those would be the basic materials.

Thank you! You know, applying the tufts wasn't the difficult part, it was cutting, tying, and separating them that was rough, I didn't really show that part...
very nice work, gave me ideas as well that i can use for one of mine. i think i will vary the heights of grass and maybe add in more colours to give depth.....i like how you scrubbed the foam base....when i think that mine would be on wood, your dio gives me reason to use the hard foam.....a lot lighter weight...great stuff here and yeah....artistic license trumps authenticity...thats for the rivet counters

I really enjoyed your narrative on what you were thinking about the stowage and what the model meant to you. I do the same thing, just not as well as you. When I do stowage I get stumped by...how is this held here, why wouldn't it fall off, etc...keep up the great work.
Thank you, yeah, stowage is really one of those areas of modelling where I get really picky how it looks. I'm not a fan of the look of items just random stuck to the side of a tank, like they are magnets, so I really try hard to make sure it's obvious how a piece a stowage is attached to the vehicle.
You could just say it's from the later battles in the second half of 1943, such as the Battle for the Dneiper, by which point they'd introduced Panzerfausts, I think. The long grass looks like Ukraine, and the remnants from the Zitadelle offensive were likely still in the field by that time, when the Germans were on the defensive.

The turret markings suggest that it is a command tank and as such should carry an extra "star" aerial on the rear deck. Great work by the way

Very, very well done. Just curious, why not lightly airbrush the tall weeds a light brown? I remember one of the “10 commandments” of diorama building is to “paint everything”.
Honestly, I hadn't really considered painting the tall grass, I had picked out the twin specifically because I liked the color, but perhaps it could add a better sense of depth if I did.

Personally I think if you where trying to give off the impression of the wounded being done with everything they would of been using the roads for least resistance not caring about the vehicles and the fresh troops would of been going trough the hassle of walking trough the tall grass but I loved how it turned out especially the tank commander looking at the wounded to see the battle ahead of him.

Great work man! Really beautiful. But i have a question for you: what airbrush are you using? I mean what nozzle. I have one with 0,2 nozzle and I'm not very happy with it. Is the nozzle too small,or i don't know how to use it? Great videos!
Thank you. I am using an Iwata Eclipse with a .5 nozzle. I don't normally use a .2 nozzle, but I understand the paint needs to be really thin to flow correctly.

Love the dio, but...the Panzerfaust 60 didnt go into production until 1944. The smaller 30 saw limited use in late 1943 but their use in Kursk was very limited. :(

Absolutely spectacular I'm looking at doing something similar but with 1/72 scale. Trying to find figures that convey what I'm after is just really hard here in the UK, especially in 1/72 scale. I'm wanting to set it at the beginning of Operation Barbarossa in the opening months of the Germans heading east. Again brilliant work and will definitely be watching your other videos. Thanks for watching, I can imagine that it would be difficult to find good figures in 72nd scale. It can be difficult in 35th scale, and that's a common scale for that type of figure. Have you looked into 3d printing? If you have access to a 3D printer, cgtrader.com has some amazing files for German WW2 soldiers in a variety of poses. I've already purchased a few myself for some up coming projects. Just a thought.

@@Swanston33 I'll tell you, I'm in the middle of printing out some new tracks for a Panther I've been working on. My cat, ate the original tracks, not just took a little bite, I'm talking bit into every single track link, and destroyed a good portion of them! I happened upon a free STL for Panther tracks, so I test printed a few links. No changes or anything, right off the printer it dropped right onto the drive sprocket and fit perfectly. Now, I'm just taking my time printing out about 30 links at a time, soon I'll have fully articulated tracks with more detail than the originals. In my opinion, a 3d Printer is well worth the price!
@@HammerheadModelMaking Oh wow, that brings a new direction to "the dog ate my homework" the cat ate my plastic model kit haha. My cat would definitely do the same after throwing it off the table of course. my black labrador would then probably sniff it and work out it isn't edible and just lay on it as he sleeps on anything! I've been eyeing up 3d printers for a while and definitely decided with a resin 3d printer as they seem leaps and bounds better for detail than using filament printer, especially in the scale I usually try to work in. When I was a kid I always made 1/35 scale models. I really enjoy making Dioramas and 1/35 scale dioramas do take up a fair bit of space. Can I ask what 3d printer did you end up going for in the end? I've been looking at reviews of the Elegoo Mars 2 pro
@@Swanston33 Sure thing, I have the AnyCubic Photon M3. I managed to snag it on sale on Amazon, but even still, I think it's good for it's price. I got it mainly because it has a slightly larger build area than some of the others in the same price range. That was important to me, but the quality is extremely high! Very happy with it. I do hear good things about the Elegoo Mars, so I believe that would be a viable choice as well.
Trivia :.....Did you know that SS Panzer Schwere 13th Kompanie LSSAH during the Battle of Kursk in Juli 1943, ( that most know that they had 17 Tiger l tank's ) as well as a single platoon of 5 Panzer lll's ?
Mount's 1300, 1310, 1320, 1330, 1340.

@@HammerheadModelMaking Yes the primal task of the Panzer lll's within the 13th Heavy Tiger l company. Was for the Light platoon,to reconnaissance ahead of the advance, protect the flank of the Tiger's and knock out any Anti-Tank Gun's.
The Light Platoon was with the SS Panzer Schwere 13th Kompanie LSSAH also during the Battle of Kharkov Feb-Mar 43 when the unit was known as the SS Panzer schwere 4th Kompanie LSSAH.
In which SS Untersturmfuhrer Michael Wittmann was the platoon commander of the Panzer lll ausf J's.....in mount "4L1".
The SS Panzer Schwere 4th Kompanie LSSAH was renamed the 13th Kompanie in May 1943..... sadly did away with it's Panzer lll's after transferring to Italy.....post the Battle of Kursk.....the unit becoming a full complement of 27 Tiger l tank's of five Tiger's in each of the 5 platoon's of the 13th Kompanie LSSAH. new resupplying starting in August 1943.

What kits do you use in this? I wonder
I used the Tamiya Panzer 3 and Dragon Wounded German Infantry.
I wanna get into this hobby so bad but i have no clue how to start. Is there any tips on how someone can get started!?
Well, its going to largely depend on where you live and what you have access to, but the bare minimum by way of tools are the following:
1. Hobby Knife (Xacto brand works well)
2. Plastic cement (I recommend Tamiya Thin Cement if you can get it)
3. A model kit (obviously) I recommend starting with something inexpensive. Airfix has kits that are perfect for starting out. Their 1:72 scale spitfire or mustang are both cheap good kits. Alternatively, you can get some 1:72 scale Tamiya kits for just a little more, and are great kits.
4. Paint brushes, I recommend getting a small variety pack that comes with 5-10 brushes of different sizes/types
5. Paint. There are a huge range of paints you can choose from, I would stick with acrylic paints, like Vallejo paints, since they are pretty easy to work with, brush on nicely, and clean up with water.
Thats really all you need to get started. Build a few kits, see if you like it. If you do, you can start adding more complex tools and techniques to your tool belt. Remember to just have fun with it, that might seem obvious, but the temptation to compare yourself with what you see on youtube can be difficult for some one new to the hobby who doesn't like the results they get at the beginning. Like many other hobbies, it take time and practice to become proficient. Most of all, don't give up if you aren't happy with the way your first model turns out. Trust me, we've all been there. Each kit you build will see an improvement over the last. Just keep at it.

Really an panzerfaust in the battle of Kursk? Seems a bit too early for that. The Panzerfaust 30 was introduced in troop service on August 30st 1943. And on your Diorama the larger Panzerfaust 60 is shown , which was introduced in early 1944.
Yes, you are correct, and as I mention in the video, I was made aware of my mistake and acknowledge that I failed to do thorough research leading up to this project.

This diorama looks amazing! And not to be rude, but the Pamzerfaust would not see action until 1 years later, in 1944. By the way, I'm using your Panzer III as a reference for building one of my own along with Tamiya's set of Panzergrenadier figures.
