    The headphone covers were orange up until sometime in 1942.

      Thanks, I tried out a new way to weather the tank abc I think it turns out alright, but there is still room for improvement 😀

    Impressive work on the chipping.
    I have seen many (too many) videos on chipping by the method of removing paint with either the application of hairspray or chipping fluid, painting, then brushes to scratch of the final coat, but I have not seen anyone 'add' chips the way you have. It must take a lot of practice to make it look genuine using this method?
    If I may ask, do think it is better to paint the accessories such as shovels, tools, cables, all those items, etc separately before gluing them onto the main body or putting them all on at once and then paint the entire model and go back to paint the accessories with a brush after the final coat?
    But excellent work here. I have seen and learnt techniques I have not known of before.

      thank you very much for your compliment and your questions.
      yes adding chippings are far more time consuming than using hair spray and chipping fluid, but these two methods are only good for large area paint chipping but not fine scratches and hit marks. It is rather hard to control the chipping pattern. So for normal tear and wear chipping I had to stick with adding chips and scratches using my own intuition. I had to observe a lot of other master's work as well as real life effect like driving pass a bulldozer or dump truck, and memorize how the scratch pattern and how the rust will form.
      your last question on painting the tools separately really depends on how the tools are placed. If they are not accessible after assembled then I will always have them painted in advance. But normally I prefer to glue them first and paint later, that way the clasps and the tank could be weathered more realistically instead of just placed on top, in other words, the dirt and shadow could be made under the tools and the clasps if painted at the same time.
      Hope that helps!

    Sehr schön! Der Panzer 3 gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich habe auch ein Panzer 3 aber mit Flecktarnung.

    Hello and thanks for showing the video. The work is very good and it looks authentic, but the vehicles really haven't aged that well to develop that very well done aged look. A contradiction in terms..! This is what vehicles look like in the museum today, 75 years later. The vehicles in the war were completely repainted max. every 3 months, depending on the season.

    Great job on the Das Werk kit of the Panzer III Ausf J. BTW What make is the figure? also when you add the Mr Colour Iron with the cotton bud to the tools is it applied wet or dry? The metal finish on the tools looks really realistic and this is an aspect of my modelling that I would like to improve upon. Thanks.

    • @henschelporsche1
      @henschelporsche1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your compliment! The figure was bought from Aliexpress. The Iron paint was applied almost dry, should wipe out the paint and leave a very small trace on the swab and that will do. The metal finish was achieved by applying rust pigment on black paint and highlighting with iron or gun metal pigment depends on the sheen you want. Hope that helps!! 😀

    As good as the build was, the AI narrator was bad. Ugh. Couldn't listen to it.
