I just found you this week and glad I did, I love your videos.
I am retired now but had my own jewelry stores where I did custom work and also did a lot with Antique & Vintage jewelry which was my true passion.
You mentioned in this video that you are a jewelry designer which would most likely be beneficial videos for you but I do hope you decide to start doing more Antique and Vintage videos again in the future.

Jill, I have a period brooch that is rose gold and has Pat. Jun 5 1877 on the back. I have photos, but wish them to be private. I'd like to get your take on this first piece I picked up several years ago. It is engraved on the front with a water wheel house sitting on a hill beside a large mass of water with a sailboat in the water. Two initials of a name engraved on it. It open ups to reveal a place to put a tiny photo and there's a magnifying glass to look through to see the photo. The inside is engraved with a lighthouse sitting on rocks, seagulls flying overhead, and a sailboat in the water. Very nicely done. The catch was replaced on one side. One side has been soldered and replaced. Obviously it needed repair at some point. Would the patent date mean it is possibly of the late Victorian era?
Oh your piece sounds magical! The best person to take it to is an appraiser that specializes in antique jewelry. It sounds like research will need to be done. I don't know much about the jewelry patent on this type of piece. I hope you find the answers! xoxo

Fascinating information. The only Georgian piece I own are a pair of earrings that are made of my ancestors hair. Looking at them as a little girl inspired me become a life long collector. Thank you for your research and time

@@JillMaurer I was looking at some of my jewelry today (mostly costume jewelry) and I thought maybe you could do a video on natural gemstones vs man-made stones. I see labels like man-made, lab created, synthetic, cultured...what do those really mean? What are the processes behind them? Are there any real differences in the quality of the gemstones?

Collecting jewelry made during the Georgian period was easier 70 years ago, but my one true love is Victorian jewelry as it was the romantic time in history. Sad to say, many of these pieces are being melted down for the gold content rather than being preserved for history. I see so many cameos without the casing as the gold was removed and sold.
Great information as always. I love all jewellery but have been a collector of 1920/30's marquisette solid silver pieces. Hard to come by these days. I find the art deco pieces especially interesting.

thank you for your video and the hard work that went into making it. I do like the heavy flashy look of the Georgian jewelry, but my favorite jewelry is art deco, it speaks to me lol
En Tremblant or Trembler jewelry. I have an older beautiful brooch/pendant with no markers mark, that has clear large glass stones with crystals cascading out of the center of the brooch/pendant. the back is enclosed in metal. would this be an En Tremblant? and I have a 1980's gold-tone cow-girl brooch that arms and legs move, would this be considered an En Tremblant?

If your pieces have components that shake or jiggle, then they are en tremblant. If they are hinged and move around, they are not. En tremblant have parts on springs not hinges. Hope that helps.

I have a Georgian pendant/ brooch with diamonds and a shell cameo . It belonged to a countess of Italy and she pawned it in Luca . She was going to Africa. Two were made I have one and the other I was told is in Africa. The paperwork to this piece was lost and I would like paperwork on it . I would like to know it’s value .
was 15k used in georgian jewelry?

I love and collecting victorian jewelry but I have the georgian diamond ring similar to the one you show it people have to be beware when they buy antique jewelry my georgian diamond ring come with certifique of authencite thas is more than hundred years all they have too many reproductions and is ok a long you know what you buy.
