      Special Light Workers will have to help with the sacred cursed stones when they are returned. I know there are those ones who do not believe in returning the Sacred Stones to their rightful countries will make the curses lift.

    Oooooo! I love this video! I love opals, it's one of my favorites. Also, my son is an October baby. I have one ring with an opal but it's too small for me now. Every now and then I will wear it on the end of my finger. I can't let it go because the setting looks like bones and it's just my style.

    • @JillMaurer
      @JillMaurer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bones in a ring? Who would do that? Ha! Your ring sounds lovely. You may be able to have it sized but will likely need to find someone with a cold laser to size it. Heat and opals don't go together, and they can break when you try to pull them out of a ring to size the setting. xoxo

    Hi Jill discovered your channel today via the Gen Xers Vs Millennials slang video & in doing so heard that you are a fellow jeweller & Gen Xer then I discovered this video I thought I'll tell you about Opals.
    Well! you certainly had them covered!
    I'm also a October baby, didn't know the tale that it is ok for me to wear one.
    I can remember back in 81 when I began my apprenticeship I was told about Opals being bad luck & then discovering they were my birth stone I was immediately drawn to them. Like any child I was intrigued by the dangerous, stay away from the fire place or you'll get burned etc.
    Being a Australian Jeweller, & yes that's how we spell it 😉, I've made many Opal pieces & every time the stone arrives I sit down with a 10x eye loop & get lost in its intrigue.
    Just wanted to say really enjoyed this video & have enjoyed the channel.
    Keep making nice pieces & keep up the good work cheers.
    Brett.

    I've seen The Hope Diamond. You know, there really is something spooky about that gem. The color is this weird shade of deep blue with this steely tone to it. On a positive note, I also got to see the Dresden Green Diamond, which was on loan at that time to the Smithsonian. INCREDIBLE!

    Those stories are so interesting, Jill 😊! I have a whole book about the Blue Adamas (Tavernier / Hope) 😉! But have you seen the new setting for the jewel? It's so ugly 🤢🤬! They removed the beautiful Entourage, even slightly changed the cut, and put it into a new, modern setting 😒. I cringe every time I see it on pictures now 😑 (and not because of the curse 😕)! 😘❤

      Just googled it and found an article of Smithsonian (I sent it to you on your Instagram account (don't be surprised, it's another username 😉😊)). But in the article, they said it would be temporary, so I don't know if they put the Hope back into its original entourage setting after the exhibition; I really hope so 😳! Nevertheless, in the documentary I watched, they altered the cut slightly (as if it weren't enough that they already lost two pieces of the original stone Tavernier stole *cough* from the Indian temple 🤨🙄...).

    I forget the name of it, but there is a book which debunks the Hope Diamond curse. Probably truthfully! That is a pity because I love the legend! Another legend I have heard is that jewelers spread the rumour about opals being unlucky after the Australian opal fields were discovered and deemed a threat. I rather like opals when used well. Which means I rarely ever like opal jewels! Queen Alexandra feared opals totally, and had Queen Victoria's opal tiara reset with rubies. But I am prattling again.

    • @JillMaurer
      @JillMaurer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love your prattling Daniel! People do think they now know many of the mysterious illnesses to which people succumbed.
