This just brought memories, I remember as a Kid my dad literally used a similar truck to build our first Country house,it was a double cabin Toyota Hilux horse. He would ferry heavy logs from the forest to the building site and we're talking rainy season in upcountry dirt roads in Kenya. All I remember him saying that evening after a long days work was "what a strong solid truck"

Very true, although the racecar is going to be on the edge for performance whereas the truck is somewhat more in the middle for performance and just more durable parts because the parts don't need tons of capability.

I've had my hilux for 22 years in australian outback. Have hit 17 kangaroos. 1 steer crossed rivers higher than bonnet still use it everyday and my kids couldn't kill it.
our 94 double cab (2 wheel drive) has outlasted an 02 Mazda, an 06 Nissan Hardbody and a 2015 Ford Ranger, 1.6mill km on the clock and still havent opened the engine once, theyre ridiculous vehicles i love em

I guarantee that if you tracked the prices of imported Hiluxes from when he got to now, they’ve gone up, because of the millions of people who have seen this you know at least a few hundred are seriously looking into it, and they’re not a dime a dozen in the US.

There’s a lot of em around here but they’re all pricey for battered beer cans they’ve been rolled 5-6 times with 390k miles. Clean ones will run ya 15-20k easily. But battered ones are anywhere from 4-8k depending on year. 2wd trucks are like 2-3k though

As a Toyota owner, the 2nd and 3rd gens are not anywhere near the same as this truck. They went the way of all other manufacturers reliability wise. This is only a testament for first gens and hiluxs

Hilux is the Hi Point of trucks. For reference a Hi Point is one of the ugliest looking pistols you’ll ever see. It’s mostly plastic, doesn’t even look like a real pistol, it looks more like a BB Gun, but you can beat the absolute piss out of them and they will still shoot straight.

In comparison to metal frame pistols, the slide works till it shatters (which is not the easiest thing to do). The brittleness of the slide is only a factor if it hits a rock on a sharp point, and most other guns would cease to run at that point too. remember, brittle = hard and ductile = soft. side note, i've personally seen a high point yeet cannon put through the same tests as garand thumb and it still ran fine (well, as fine as a HP will) afterwards. maybe he got a dud? though i will say, i would never buy a high point. theyre so u g l y

Very true, although the racecar is going to be on the edge for performance whereas the truck is somewhat more in the middle for performance and just more durable parts because the parts don't need tons of capability.

There’s a lot of em around here but they’re all pricey for battered beer cans they’ve been rolled 5-6 times with 390k miles. Clean ones will run ya 15-20k easily. But battered ones are anywhere from 4-8k depending on year. 2wd trucks are like 2-3k though

Hilux is the Hi Point of trucks. For reference a Hi Point is one of the ugliest looking pistols you’ll ever see. It’s mostly plastic, doesn’t even look like a real pistol, it looks more like a BB Gun, but you can beat the absolute piss out of them and they will still shoot straight.

@@weasle2904 lmao my friend has a high point that he's abused to high hell, its actually probably THE most durable gun i've seen. In comparison to metal frame pistols, the slide works till it shatters (which is not the easiest thing to do). The brittleness of the slide is only a factor if it hits a rock on a sharp point, and most other guns would cease to run at that point too. remember, brittle = hard and ductile = soft.
side note, i've personally seen a high point yeet cannon put through the same tests as garand thumb and it still ran fine (well, as fine as a HP will) afterwards. maybe he got a dud?
though i will say, i would never buy a high point. theyre so u g l y
