Same as the older model, including the right-side steering wheel. I think maybe the reason why the new model seems slightly less durable than the old one is because they've increased the crumple zone to prioritize safety over durability.
well, Toyota needed to put a ton of electronics and comfort stuffs in the new Hilux otherwise those modern day "drivers" wouldn't buy it because in their minds a "new" car must have a ton of gadgets, a BIG centrally mounted infotainment console and EVERYTHING must comply with some unrealistic safety tests conducted by so called "experts" who probably never even ever drive off road other than at the test tracks under controlled environment. As for the real drivers and owners of Hilux, we want it to last, we want it to get us to work and home again and those "extra" options are just to us, optional.
@@omegabulldog5001 I can't remember the auto brand, but at some point they even went as far as to traverse the main V-powered engine perpendicular, or at least redesign the shape in such a way so there's less chance of it pummeling into the cabin and killing both the driver and front seat passenger durinf a car crash.
@@KuDastardly I thought the firewall was supposed to be engineered tough that there will not be penetration of the engine block into the cabin in an accident. Maybe the traverse of the engine was in order to change the drive train from rear to the front? I am guessing~😅

keep up the good work
Love the stab proof vest touch lol classy AND smart. Cultured man you are.
I just saw one of these on the road recently! I’m the US and had no idea they were still making these I looked it up and saw they were only being sold in Europe and Australia. I don’t know if it’ll do better, but no matter what I sure do like the look of the old one a whole lot better!
Yeah. Sold in Central and South America too. So pretty much the US is the only place it’s not sold because F-1shitty is the standard.
They are Australia's number 1 selling car..
New ones are basically a rename Tacoma
@@ridef0rlife as they should be
they're being sold in a lot more places than just the EU and Aus actually i think America is the only place they don't sell them 😂
whistlin you are absolutely badass in your videos. I also watched your podcast with Roman Atwood. absolutely 💯 awesome. you should do more of them. I love the fact that you care about your content as much as we do and won't just upload anything. I absolutely respect you for that. thank you and keep up the amazing work!!!
Your videos are so awesome and I like watching please keep posting so I can keep watching
🛻✈️💪🇩🇿🥷
I always watch videos on TH-cam with a slight exhale through the nose but never actually laughing. But this, this channel is something else wow. Love it.
I'm incredibly impressed with how well the new Hilux held up.
No doubt. American trucks just look tough.
@@kasaeuberlichproduction5981 honestly true. Mostly the new ones
@@kasaeuberlichproduction5981 Literally a Japanese Ute
New? its almost 5 years old
@@kasaeuberlichproduction5981 thats because there's no such thing as an American truck anymore there all china or Mexican or somewhere that has labor for under a cent so thats why you're 100000 fords dif exploded after 3 miles 🤣😂
11:21 Bruh my Hilux is doing 1/4 mile in 5 sec. in reverse.
Psssh I've seen F-150s do 4s in neutral

“Average Uk child” my brother 😂
I'm not gonna lie this was honestly the best car review I have ever seen. Why would you not want to see the car your gonna buy to used to the absolute max... awesome!!
As someone with over 1000 days deployed with an ungodly amount of hiluxs and considering the way we treat them…. They are still that good. Not that I’m a fan of the new ones but they don’t break. Lot of rangers over there as well and they all break non stop, hiluxs do great.
Preciate Ya service Sir, SEMPER FI 🙏🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸💯
Never thought my favorite youtuber was gonna be a guy I grew up 15mins down the road from. Thank you for another high quality video
We have one from 2012 and it is still going strong after 400,000 km.
Other than regular maintenance the only "major" part replacement was a fan belt.
Here in Brazil, the modern Hilux is famous for being indestructible (using it for rural work), easily rollover and getting a lot of dust even with the car completely closed. And it's an extremely expensive car here.
th-cam.com/video/kUTHtPBc50Y/w-d-xo.html BRO WTF😭😭
Capotalux é foda irmao kkkkkk
CAPOTALUXXXXX
Caminhonete mais vendida no Brasil. Motor e câmbio indestrutível, mas o acabamento é inferior à outras Hilux de outros países
5:37 the slow reach and finger curl and aftermath got me so hard haha.
Well played.
His face tho after he pulled it out haha
I'm now a subscriber. Been watching the cyber truck and kill dozer series.
what you did to that old Ford is ALMOST unforgivable but I guess I'm a subscriber now.
yes this collab finally happened . Well done Cody and Mark
Comedic value = through the roof. WD never fails to disappoint!
Great work boys! I also watched Roman's pod and saw Cody in a whole new light, you seem like such a rad guy!
The quality of production increases with every video and I am loving the recent content. Keep up the great work boys and I look forward to seeing what the future of this channel holds and what crazy video ideas you guys come up with!
Can’t wait for the Bugatti😉
The HIlux is one of the most popular and sold vehicles in Australia, they are legendary.
Obviously, Australia barely makes ANY vehicles at all.
Keller better keep editing these man, he always has perfect sound affects for everything
Thank you my man
The part where u were slamming the chair back into the "unruly kid" holy shit that was gold. I swear your humor ur is effortless lmao
I can’t wait to watch it
Favorita part, had to restart the entire video just for that scene again cause I laughed for a while and missed 2 minutes of the video 😂
I died at this and literally had to show my wife!!
A pinzgauer would be interesting next

I wanna see Cody get his hands on a Marauder (the military vehicle one ) like they had on top gear .. they do cost half a mil so might be a bit much
i think he can afford it
The fiat panda 4x4 is a fantastic offroad car. You should absolutely test that out, preferably in a really offroad track.
Same as the older model, including the right-side steering wheel. I think maybe the reason why the new model seems slightly less durable than the old one is because they've increased the crumple zone to prioritize safety over durability.
Planned obsolescence
@@isaiah5371 Just mere convenience.
well, Toyota needed to put a ton of electronics and comfort stuffs in the new Hilux otherwise those modern day "drivers" wouldn't buy it because in their minds a "new" car must have a ton of gadgets, a BIG centrally mounted infotainment console and EVERYTHING must comply with some unrealistic safety tests conducted by so called "experts" who probably never even ever drive off road other than at the test tracks under controlled environment.
"You don't wanna spank em cause other people would see that, you need something under the table, something that's just gonna snap their legs." And the sliding motion!! 😂 I lost it
Driving the car with the levers had me in stitches 😂
16:30 I love how the camper top’s glass breaks and he just says cool, this dude is awesome
I'm sad it took me this much scrolling to see someone giving that awesome guy his well deserved kudos.
Kudos to you as well : )
The stab proof vest in Britain is too accurate.🤣
