    Hi again! I have a very quick question: I just started preparing this pickle recipe. I have boiled the water and have soaked the limes. In the instructions that we need to soak the limes in hot water for 24 hours. in the next set of instructions, it says we need to "repeat the process 3 to 4 times". Do I need to soak the lime in hot water 4 times in one 24 hour period? Or do I have to soak the lime in hot water 4 times in four 24 hour period. Your knowledgeable advice is appreciated.

      Hi, you need to soak the limes for only 24 hours. But be sure to change & pour hot water in between for at least 3-4 times. I hope this answers your question ☺️ Happy cooking & I’ll wait for your feedback 😊

      @@Nats14 Hi Natasha! Thanks very much for the quick response! Coincidentally, I was about to leave my house pick up the jaggery and curry leaves. With a minute to spare, I took a gander at my TH-cam account and saw you message. So before I left, I boiled a second pot of water and soaked the limes a second time. Only 2 more to go! 😁 When I finished the recipe, I will be sure to give my feedback! Stay tuned! 😊

      Hi Charmaine,
      Thank you for visiting CLICK ON GOA. Due to some error I’m not able to reply from my channel.
      Please store in a dry place away from sun light with sufficient oil covering the pickle on top. It would remain best 2-3 months at room tempt. and up to 7-8 months in the refrigerator. Thank you 😊

    Could I use 200 gms sugar instead of jaggery?

      Hi Sharon
      Suggest that you use 150 gms at initial stage & gradually add more if required at final stage.

    Hello. Please explain the reason behind soaking the limes in hot water for 24 hrs? It would be well appreciated.

    • @CLICKONGOA-ByNatasha
      @CLICKONGOA-ByNatasha  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It helps remove the excess bitterness.
      You can either soak or simmer for 10 mins.

      @@CLICKONGOA-ByNatashaThanks for the info. I've tried another recipe for lime pickle earlier but the skin was too hard which led to just chewing the skin. Does boiling/soaking in hot water take care of the softness of the lime skin? Please let me know.

    • @CLICKONGOA-ByNatasha
      @CLICKONGOA-ByNatasha  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the skin will turn soft too.

    Nice.. thks for the recipe.. but a few queries... kindly advise..
    1... did u use boiling water initially?
    2. So, wen it cooled down , u removed the cold water & added more boiled water ? Repeated this 2-3 times?
    3. Also, wat type of chillies to use? Kashmiri? Do they have to be deseeded?
    4. Is goan palm Jaggery better?
    Sorry to bother u.. TIA

      Due to some technical issues, I’m not able to to reply from my channel,
      1- yes I used boiling water
      2- In 24 hours, I’ve changed water 3-4 times with hot water
      3- I’ve used Kashmiri chilies with seeds. As these chilies are not spicy.
      4- Goan vinegar will add more flavor but I’ve used Apple Cider vinegar as Goan vinegar is not available.
      Happy cooking & feel free to reach me out ☺️
