The "fight" between Ainz and Clementine is actually even more awesome than most people realize.
That is because there is something hidden in this episode and the next one that most people seem to overlook.
In this one when he talks to Clementine, Ainz says it would be very hypocritical of him if he reproached her from killing the adventurers he worked with, suggesting they really meant nothing to him.
However in the next episode when their fight ends he says: "However, I am very hypocritical.", meaning that he was indeed enraged because of what Clementine did.
It's no real surprise since it was shown earlier on that he saw himself and his old friends in them.
This little detail gives these episodes a nice additonal tweak.
you're 100% right. He was frontin by acting like they were nothing to him.
It's not that Ainz is strictly evil or good. when he became his avatar, everytime he has strong feelings one way or the other, they are suppressed (the green aura). so basically while he is allowed certain emotions like curiosity or a desire to protect what he sees as 'his', hes for all purposes, a psychopath that feels nothing. Hes not homicidal, hes not evil...he just cant tell the difference as long as what he does gets the results he desires.
I think it's more like dysthymia than psychopathy.
Not entirely true. He definitely has a strong sense of honour and he doesn't take pleasure in inflicting suffering (at least on innocent people). But that said he puts Nazarick's wellbeing above everything else, he's ok with committing evil if it further's Nazarick in some way.

sociopaths know the difference between right and wrong they just don't care
psychopaths don't know the difference between right and wrong they are born without empathy due to a genetic defect that causes the prefrontal cortex (i think but could be wrong on the part of the brain effected) to be underdeveloped
sociopaths just lose it for various reasons brain injuries or emotional abuse
I dont know if you have read light novel but this is from first book which is at this point not a spoiler. Ainz has stat karma = -500 which is maximum negative. For example almost every nazarick npc has high negative karma. So if you think about it they are literally the eviliest creatures around.
@@Tamanel1 well yeah...relatively to 'human' morals hes an 'evil' race in the same way we would see any pychopath as a form of evil. but in his mind he can't tell the difference between good and evil anymore (which is my point). His minions definately are full on evil...Ainz himself just can't judge them because his compass is stuck on 'neutral'
can't revert undead back into humans. it was a wrap for them the second they were made into zombies. Also Punitto Moe the one Ainz said created the book about player killing, was the strategist for their guild. Also NOBODY in Ainz's guild is human, you needed to be a non-human character to join

The lowest revival spell is 5th tier divine class spell. Only the very best clerics and priests can do it. Momon is a warrior and Nabe is an arcane magic caster, so they can't do anything for the Swords of Darkness. Publicly speaking.

There are three racial classes. Human(Humans, elves, dwarves, etc). Demihumans(Beastmen, trolls, giants, goblins, etc). Heteromorphs(Undead, demons, angels, exotic monsters, etc).
Gotta love that Nasty caught the namedrop at the end, and the implications of it! Next episode is my favorite of the season, can't wait

The remaining episodes of season 1 are best watched back to back, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13.

@@YaBoyRockLee season 2 is a little wierd. If everything is cliffhanger, nothing is, am I right? 3-4 8-9 and finalle 12-13 all end on cliffhanger, and litteraly start from the same scene, but all the cliffhangers are on "Oh shit it is starting!" lvls of cliffhanging. 11-12 litteraly cuts in the middle of the fight. To don't spoil anything. I will tell it wihout any background/characters. So "fighting fighting fighting" SOMETHING BIG HAPPENS that interrupts the fight. Really cool splitscrean. Roll credits. And 12 resumes the fight after a little bit more shittalking.
Season 3...season 3 is fucked up. For real, the best way to watch it is to litteraly skip between first arc, on the timestamps, but it would make total chaos in the background, and 5 episodes (or 4, not sure accualy is 5th aslo fked up) is too much. So just watch it normally as it is, and curse creators for making everything "chronological" insted keeping it to the source, cuz its WAAAAAAAAAY more powerfull in the Light Nover, when you have one perspective, and THEN "go back in time" for the other one. Anyway, after first 5 episodes 7-8 is technicly 2-parter, but not really. I mean, it stops and resumes on the same frame, but they alone are powerfull, let the ep 7 resonate, doing them together improves ep 8 a little, and ruins ep 7 "a little bit more", so your choice, If I were you I would do them closer than normal, but not at once. And then 12-13 finalle. It's not on the lvl of s1 finalle...to be honest nothing is...but its good shit.
AAAnd. I think I told it before, but pay attention to episode name in this "previev or whatever" before reaction itself starts. For the most it's "whatever" but since s3 ep 6 to the very end of s3 the name is the first hype point of the episode. This is a case the most in 6 and 13. Oh and for real. Between season 1 ep 13 and season 3 ep 13 there is HUGE pararel. In name, and in the "mental background" Full explenation what it is, of course after s3 finalle, cuz old rule say "For spoilers you get send to the Happy Farm". And if you wan't to know what the hell Happy Farm is GO READ THE LIGHT NOVEL, or use browser, cuz this is too brutal for anime, to even hint on the lvl of horror happening there.

All the floor guardians are on Ainz's level-100 power level however is a different story, but not everyone in Nazarick is lvl100 there are even lvl1 npcs but they are the regular maids, and are not used for combat. 8:58 yes. 15:50 Ainz is undead other undead wont attack him unless he attacks them or they are ordered by someone who commands them, Nabe and Hamske are not undead so they will be attacked by the undead.
ok, I read people telling me what Nabe was, a Doppleganger, but that didn't connect to me that she's undead lol...thanks for being SUPER clear
@@YaBoyRockLee Doppelganger is not undead, the species is a shapeshifter but living. Nabe has only 1 level in her race tho so she can't even shape change. In a the Yggdrasil terms she would be base level human - 1 level that is dedicated to being a doppleganger. Weird choice for a build but Battle Maids were just something that was made for fun in the guild and not as a real fighting power.
There is another battle maid who is udead tho.
@@Zolwiol I'm pretty sure she can shapeshift, but only into human which is what she's doing like 90% of the time. That one scene were she has the bunny ears, isn't that part of her normal form?
@@pezdispencer113 She is pretty much stuck in human form because of her build. Bunny ears are a spell she has "Rabbit Ears". It increases her hearing senses. There are 2 other "Rabbit" spells. Foot for luck stat increase and Tail for aggro generation lessening.
Pretty useless spells in the game itself but she has them because once all 3 are cast a female caster gets a bunny-girl outfit. So yeah the creator just wanted her to have it.

All the hero's who are human are around lvl 30-35 at best. also despite being in an actual new world, everyone in Nazarick will still use gaming terms as that information is far more easier for them to use and understand. It tends to confuse some reactors ive noticed into thinking that its still a MMO game but its not of course.

Yggdrasil is the world tree from the Norse mythology and you can also visit each of the nine world's ,and also each of those world's were the size of Tokyo ,by the way players only explored about only 30 percent of the game (By the while playing the game players were only given the information about the controls of the game so except that they had figure everything out (Guys after finishing Overlord can you please react to the videos like Overlord explained type things so that you can get more information about Overlord)

Well usualy on DnD games mindless undead are attracted to and atacking the living. Both Nabe and Hamsky are alive so they are flying to avoid that. Ainz is undead himself, thats why they are not attacking him.

Whilst the sub may have more nuance for example, females sound more erotic in their enunciation, the dub is one of the better ones in recent history. Each of the non Asian characters use unique accents which is especially appropriate for the Western European Renaissance through middle dark ages setting.
For example Clementine sounds like a cranked out valley girl, Master Sebas, is voiced by the actor who plays King Bradley, and Momonga himself has a much more dramatic change in between his internal monologue and Ainz, whereas the Japanese simply uses a lighter pitched voice and a heavier voice.
I actually like dub as well. But sub is easier to arrange for reactions.
