All 3 are awesome keyboards, and I have played them all:-).. I now own the Kawai MP and it has been awesome. The sound is great and it hug your fingers like a dream. The more a play it, the more I love the MP ......
+J.J.A Florida And not mention that the MP11 has the Kawai Grand Action feel of its wooden keys, which I unfortunately haven't personally tried yet but read that it's the next best thing to a real grand action. Care to comment? Thanks.
+Meng Vang I agree with what you said about the mp11 wooden key action!!! :-) this is a dream come true for piano players. ..BtW quality that last forever!!:-)
1. Nord 2. Kawai 3.Kurzweil Bei the price and polypony (nord 40, Kawai 256) I take the Kawai MP 7 for stage and studio. Mp7 is more light then MP 11. Thanks for demonstration. regards
KAWAi! Not just about the sound...the wood keys, which have the full length of a grand piano - key give you a feeling which comes realy, realy close to an real grand piano...
They all sound great! But you are not stressing the action. They are not made for the same purpose so should not be compared as such. From a piano players perspective: The real test is to play a very demanding piece. This is where anything but a truly remarkable "grand" action will fall by the way side. The MP11 has the action required for demanding performance. Dynamics, touch, contol and raw speed capability. It will stand out in this perspective. Play some very fast trills and repeat notes and the winner will stand out like a beacon of light. First movement of Bach English Suite #2 in Am. Then you will see, feel, and hear the difference between them. On the cheaper key beds you will not even be able to play the piece. They all sound close and kudos for this point; Some have far more sound flexilility than others. But it is the action, when fully stressed, that makes the real difference. Any accomplished classical concert or jazz pianist will recognize this difference almost immediately.
dont forget that the Kawaii weighs around 70lbs and the Nord about40lbs so if its going to be moved a lot for gigs I think the Nord is by far the winner here.
I like the Kawai the best here. It also has the best realistic action :) and best EPs. I also like the piano but with the other two boards you get more sound variety and non-Kawai made piano sounds too. It's a quality vs quantity discussion
Kawai & Kurzweil got identical sounds bank, but Kawai is wood keys, which have the full length of a grand piano. Nord - stage piano for rock/pop-concerts
For me nord stage is great for studio. But the sound is quite hard. Used it for years. Kawai has a good keyb action, but the sound doesn´t really work when you play in a band. In my opinion, Kurzweil is a good compromise. Warm and clear. With OS 2 it is a very good synthesizer. and what is more you can load 3 GB of samples.
You may like the sound sample, but do consider the key bed action as well. The Nord action is mediocre at best--perhaps even less than mediocre if you are used to a genuine grand action. MP11 is an excellent keybed for touch, fell, speed, and overall control--probably closest to grand piano touch feel and speed.
nord is the most flexible instrument here. Synth Engine Sampling Tons of instant Controlling Knobs Weight. I think is the best key action goes to Kawai. Nord has Organ, Synth and Piano engine. So flexibility and mobility goes to Nord. I cant understand Kurzweil Forte totally. Something missing with Kurzweil Forte
This is not a good demonstration of the nord. Ive got a np3 which, all the nord stages can use the same samples. It blows those two out of the water on sound quality. Id prefer the mp11 keybed though, you cant beat kawai at that. Still i feel bad for someone that actually use this video as a sole decision making tool. The royal grand 3d, italian grand, velvet grand are all very high quality on the nord that i prefer even over the best vsts
I have a chance to sell my Kawai MP11 for £1600 and buy a Kurzweil Forte for £1700, am I making a huge mistake? I do love the MP11 keybed but I cannot test a Forte anywhere in the UK 🇬🇧 especially during Covid troubles
@JIM JONES Kurzweil sounds better, but there are differences, Nord has that "studio' sound, because they know Stage 2 will be used on stage so various effects, various conditions will affect final sound listeners hear. Kawai tries to emulate sound of a big acoustic grand for solo piano play, while Kurzweil Forte is a workstation with ready to go and edit sounds.
Whatever microphone is being used to record these from their amplifier/speaker cabs may favor one or the other unfairly. Also, the gain settings. If the are direct inject to a mixer and then passed into the recorder, are all the EQ settings flat? Yes, these AB comparisons are always very subjective. One TH-cam comparison seems to favor a Yamaha over a Roland, the next favors a Korg, another makes the Nord sound like the greatest digital piano that ever was and ever will be. Having tried these out at a store, I personally think the Kurzweil is the best, followed closely by Kawaii and then Nord. I have no liking at all for the Roland RD 2000 nor the Korg Kronos. Since I am not a classical concert pianist and have wants and needs beyond grand pianos, I also found the Kurzweil organs and orchestral sounds beat everyone else. Most orchestral sounds are horrible and sound like 1980’s video games. Korg really got strings and brass right. The only thing Roland excels at IMHO is synthesizer sounds. They have a rich history to rely on. Buy what sounds and feels best to you of course. Have a great year and may all your gigs be phenomenal.
The winner is the one that is good to your ears
Kurzweil is my favorite - natural sound
The Nord sounds processed, the Kurzweil sound smooth but a little thin, the Kawaii sounds full, and organic. Kawai is my choice here.
The Best kurzweil
KURZWEIL WINS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kawai sounds amazig by itself, but nord will sit perfectly in mix.
OK. Kawai MP11 is my favorite here.
1/ Kurzweil
2/ Kawai
3/ Nord
but Kawai MP11 is better, cause the keys mechanism are real like a Grand Piano.
All 3 are awesome keyboards, and I have played them all:-).. I now own the Kawai MP and it has been awesome. The sound is great and it hug your fingers like a dream. The more a play it, the more I love the MP ......

Kurzweil is the sound I would want to hear on a record.
Kurzweil, Kawai.. ❤️
1. Nord
2. Kawai
3.Kurzweil
Bei the price and polypony (nord 40, Kawai 256) I take the Kawai MP 7 for stage and studio. Mp7 is more light then MP 11.
Thanks for demonstration.

For what about Sound ánd Touch (real wooden keyaction GrandFeel) the winner is without any doubt the Kawai MP 11 !!
KAWAi! Not just about the sound...the wood keys, which have the full length of a grand piano - key give you a feeling which comes realy, realy close to an real grand piano...

This YES!. this is a true review. Many thanks!
They all sound great.
I think it's important how the keys feel, have to try them for myself to determine the winner
Well that's conclusive then, The Golden Delicious, The Granny Smith and The Cox's Orange Pippin, are all a nice apple, but it's about personal taste!
The kawai timbre is the most beautiful of all.
I like the Kawai the best here. It also has the best realistic action :) and best EPs. I also like the piano but with the other two boards you get more sound variety and non-Kawai made piano sounds too. It's a quality vs quantity discussion
ive always been a kawaii number 1 but the acoustic piano sound on that nord waa the best imo.
Edit: kurzweil had better acoustic piano sound as well
Kawai & Kurzweil got identical sounds bank, but Kawai is wood keys, which have the full length of a grand piano. Nord - stage piano for rock/pop-concerts
i preferred the kurzweill elec piano sounds. weird how kawaii has come last on this one for me
Kawai MP11 is for me..
For me nord stage is great for studio. But the sound is quite hard. Used it for years.
Kawai has a good keyb action, but the sound doesn´t really work when you play in a band.

Kawai acoustic piano sounds thin. Nord does a great job with their sampled pianos especially their uprights. Such wonderful character
For me, Kawai MP11 sounds best here.
kAWAI
I was thinking... but after listening 1.59-2.01 my heart belongs to Nord^^
You may like the sound sample, but do consider the key bed action as well. The Nord action is mediocre at best--perhaps even less than mediocre if you are used to a genuine grand action. Ken Z Maybe maybe... thanks.
kawai the best!
I bought the korg kronos over the Kawai MP 11. I wish I could turn the clock back.
Kawai 👏👏
kawai showww
What amplifier are you using?
Kawai mp11 you will be mine, baby!
Kawai all day
Nice comparison!
Kurzweil all day
i don’t like how the nord is too midranged based, i am most likely going to make the kawai my next board
the kawai sounds better than all
Nord's sound with an MP11 board!
No I prefer Kawai sound and board
No I, disagree.
nord is the most flexible instrument here.
Synth Engine

Nord the best for stage & performance, but Kawai won the piano sound #IMO
Kawai, Kurzweil, Nord
