Great list and playing! I was waiting, as the countdown went on and without really believing it, for George Duke's superb intro to "Eat That Question" in Frank Zappa's The Grand Wazoo. For me, an excellent example of the "wild" side of Rhodes, too often cited for its round and pleasant qualities. I like the "barking" side of this great instrument (I still have my Mark II Stage 73 from 1980). And Duke was a real master of that instrument, on par, for me, with Hancock and Corea.

The Fender Rhodes is my favourite musical instrument. Steely Dan is my favourite musical artist. I also love Chick Corea and had the pleasure of seeing him live on two occasions. On this basis I feel I am reasonably well qualified to say that 'Spain' from that same RTF album on your list, is not just the greatest Rhodes intro ever, but one of the greatest intros ever full stop.
I had to scroll down way too long to see someone mention Spain. And like you said, it's on the same RTF album, no less. I fully agree it's the greatest Rhodes intro ever.
Love your channel. Reinvigorated my interest and able to relive the old classics. Would be great if you could do a video on Babylon Sisters. The descending chords are magical
Love that Babylon Sisters intro! Thanks for this awesome collection of Rhodes intros! I agree with your pics. Now I miss my Rhodes piano! I love this list!! I visited the Vintage Synth Museum in LA a couple of weeks ago and got to spend a little time with the Rhodes that was there. Truly one of the greatest sounds. ❤

Yes #8! Anything by Richard Tee.
You have chosen all top-level musicians... Congratulations... Also because those who use the Rhodes always have a lot of class in their music..... Thanks
Brilliant stuff!! The Rhodes is one of the most iconic instruments around. Absolutely love it. Plus, some fine playing here, Pierre 👌
Great video. Babe by Styx would've been a nice add.
Or Borrowed Time.
You bet
Was waiting for Styx as well and and Al Jarreau's Mornin'
I bought a Rhodes 73 Suitcase in the 80's because of "Babe"
Babe
Number 1 is of course Riders on The Storm by The Doors!!!
Thanks for this video. My absolute favorite key instrument thumbs up
Love your channel.
It was all I had in my first apartment in my early 20's in Toronto. Now I have the most gorgeous 100 year old upright grand M. Schulze for just everyday bliss, a Triton Extreme Workstation for songwriting, and a Roland for busking.
Stevie is the clear winner in this list 😎
Do another list but with the famous piano bell sound of the DX7
Great idea, I'm gonna do it!
Thanks for this; amazing playing!! A vote from me on a lesson video on "Minute by minute", thanks!
Donald Fagan used the Rhodes to perfection!!!
Loved all your choices ! So many talented musicians using the rodes . Thank you so much, Pierre !
I love this list!! I visited the Vintage Synth Museum in LA a couple of weeks ago and got to spend a little time with the Rhodes that was there. Truly one of the greatest sounds. ❤
100% agree with Babylon Sisters for #1. I learned it backwards and forwards back in my Berklee days and it was always my best party trick. 😉
I prefer "just the way you are" for me it sounds my emotional bells the best
“James”Billy Joel? Anybody?
Yes! Thank you!
Great song!
Great video, I totally agree with the list. The #1 Steely Dan, spot on! Watching you play that gave me goosebumps.
...It′s like a favorite song that we love to sing Every time we hear the music ...... I love the Rhodes. Thank you for this Video.
What? No "Babe," by Styx?
Pink Floyd's Sheep
Great video - nice playing. I've never given much thought to the Fender Rhodes and its role in musical history. Thanks for the awakening!
Fabulous list. #1 just soaks up every drop of sustain in the left hand power chords. Thanks to your efforts!
Love the magic of a Rhodes. Enjoy them all, especially number one. 😊
