Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy this month's installment of the AAC. I had a lot of fun making this piece, but honestly, it is probably one of the least impressive next to some of the other AMAZING pieces that were created this month, so be sure to check the description or playlist to see the other artists videos. I also want to say that I'm so sorry I forgot to mention some information about our artists' this time around in the voiceover. The very sweet and kind artist Melanie from A Visual Mind is joining us as our guest artist this month so be sure to check out her video. You may notice we're down a couple of artists as well. It was a rough month for a lot of us and some had to take some time off temporarily or more permanently to attend to personal matters, but we hope to be back to full strength the next time around! Thank you all for your support 💜
Heya Denise! I loved this, and also saw Sadie's as well. I don't know why I didn't know that AAC was a formal thing, for some reason I'm a dummy despite watching your and Sadie's videos for that this year. XD let me know if you are still drafting folks for your awesome AAC--animals + info + art = perfect vids in my mind!
I had no idea that the pangolins are the most illegally trafficked animals in the world :( I really love watching your AAC videos. More than anyone, I feel like I learn so much about both the endangered animals, and about the watercolor painting process. thank you Denise!
I am so glad that you covered pangolins. Their plight is devastating and they deserve to get more attention then they actually do. They need to be protected. Thank you. I really like the way this piece has turned out. The texture you created is really amazing. Both on the paper and the pangolins.
Oh my gosh, I am so happy you did this! Pangolins are one of my favourite animals and I'm forever scared they'll go extinct without most people realising how amazing and unique they are. This piece is so beautiful, and I love all the textures. 💜 Thank you so much for doing pangolins justice!
WHAT. I had no idea that pangolins were illegally trafficked, much less the MOST trafficked!!!! Man. I’ve been meaning to do a pangolin piece for like a year as the third in my cranky animal ball series and this makes me want to even more. These poor babies. 😭 Im actually really loving your experimentation with this! The journal feel definitely comes across, and the details you went for with the pencils really help to make it have that looser, field-sketched feel. Also, you might be interested in a technique I use for securing working paper to a board in that I’ll sometimes just use removable double-sided tape or stickies. Works super well and has zero chance of any damage to the piece, also!
Isn't it heartbreaking? It's so hard to get these topic visible when they're happening on the other side of the world and never make it (thankfully I guess?) to our soil. I'm glad that doing this video can help spread that info a little bit! I did love doing the background textures SO much on this piece I half considered painting a bunch and putting them up in the shop... Though I don't know now well that would go over 😂 but it did give me some ideas to make my own background slides for videos!
I think it's also hard to get these topics visible because there are SO MANY things going on that it's just impossible to have awareness of everything. There's so much injustice in the world and literally all of it is our fault. Dude, I think that cool sketchy things like this would make great covers for notebooks and pouches and such! Or you could make an entire fake field guide of a bunch of these bad boys. Or you could just do them because you like it and had fun. =^.^=
Wonderful piece Denise! 😀 I definitely think you achieved the look you were going for, especially with the paper looking aged. Such a cute little face. I'm glad you chose to do this piece and share the info that you did. Thank you so much for sharing! 🤗
I really like the style you did with this one! I don't know if I'm biased by how absolutely adorable that baby pangolin is, but this might be my favorite painting of yours yet!
No matter what you give your viewers more than just how to paint videos! your AAC Videos are so informative and inspiring. I think I first watched this video before I knew that to help your channel you have to Like AND Comment! Everyone else knows this fact right? Well I hope you have a better day yourself and are settling in your new environment too!
Thanks for this one. The only things I knew about this animal was what they looked like and what part of the world they lived in. Sad story, but there are so many of those these days. The whole thing about the plastics in our oceans, and the great story about the ships that just left San Francisco to try to start cleaning up that mess. Thanks for the beautiful painting and the mixed media. I have been thinking about doing some of that lately. Thank you thank you!
Pangolins are some of my favourite animals, they are so beautiful and mystical in appearance. I just hope one day that the species can recover by some miracle. Amazing painting as always! Adore this series.
I LOVE this piece so much 😍😍 I had no clue that the Pangolin was the MOST trafficked. They’re such cute animals - love looking at their scales, always such a mesmerising pattern. I love watching you paint, always makes me want to get mine out 🙈
I'm seriously so sad I only just learned about these cuties last year but I don't think that is entirely out of the norm so I am so happy you are covering this animal and topic. I also love the direction you went with this piece...gorgeous!
😝 We were this close to doing the exact same video! Pangolins were on my final list of animals ( I went with the Tasmanian Devil because of Taz) and I had initially thought I would tone my paper, but spontaneously went down a different route instead. It was so fun seeing you try out something a bit different, and I love the texture in this piece!
I have some good-is news on the pangolins front. 5-6 zoos in the us recently had a huge conference partnering with the successful programs in the wild and a large number of pangolins are now in the us as part of a huge breeding program. Over the last year nearly 20 babies were born. So we have a step in the right direction going. As someone who was looking for good news for these animals that’s what I found out. Right now what people working with them say we need most is more information about these guys in the Wild. We don’t really know what the eat or how they spend their days.

@@HajraMeeks absolutely! We have an application that's easy to find on our Instagram or Twitter pages, both are in the description! 💜

Very glad you picked this animal that is so much in need of help. Thanks for sharing your process as well.

I love Pangolins 💜 Thank you for shining a light on thede adorable critters and their precarious position 😊

Poor little pangolins. 🥺they are brilliant. How anyone can harm them is beyond human. Great idea with pastel pencil. Lovely painting.

They are so adorable! Its soo sad people want to hunt and harm these beautiful creatures.

Thanks for another quality video, Denise. Pangolins! Experimenting with different styles and supplies! You go, girl!
I really like the style you did with this one! I don't know if I'm biased by how absolutely adorable that baby pangolin is, but this might be my favorite painting of yours yet!
Another fun and awesome AAC video. Love learning about these guys. OH! and HIP, HIP HOORAY! you've reached 30K!!!
Aww thank you Steve!! That's a catchy tune :D
wow, this little baby came out so cute. Thanks for giving info about how to help and why they need help without making it the info super depressing.

Environmental "miracles" can happen when we unite and work hard together! 💜😁 Thanks so much Joshua and I'm glad you're enjoying the series!
Yikes, I had idea things are so dire for the poor pangolins :(
Your piece is beautiful, I love the journal page feel.

Thank you so much Amie! I'm of course biased, but I love when you break out the watercolors!
I did not know they where trafficked so much! The poor things, they are so cute :(
This is such a nice piece btw and so adorable!
The more we know, the better we can help to fight it!
Wonderful piece of this little heard of animal. 💞💫
AAAHH It's so cute!! I love that you tried something a little bit different, it turned out so great!
This painting looks amazing^^ I especially love the small and loose full body sketch
Thanks! I really like that cute little study too :)

Great minds think alike! :D It was so fun to see the two pieces revealed at the end.
I would Love to see how you store your finished art and how you prepare it for sale. How do you?
I wanted to paint a pangolin last year. How there wasn't a refs on pixabay.com.i still on to paint one.
I had no idea about all of this :( Time to raise awareness with my own art. Let's try to make this issue as well known as shark finning
What brush did you use for his tongue? Thank you for your efforts in protecting these animals.
All the supplies are in the description :) thanks Patti!

Pangoliiiiiiiiiiiin!
😪. The little sweeties just look like they're nervously asking someone to prom...such a shame!
