    Super interesting to hear about the origins of these hares because I see them in my neighborhood all the time. Also, I loved the composition and environment that you constructed in this painting!

    I could listen to you talk all day long... I love that you gave us a little scientific history of the jackrabbit and how it came to be urban wildlife!

    We have a lot of jackrabbits here in the desert, too! compared to the less shy cottontails we see around here, the jackrabbits really do seem massive.

    It was so interesting learning things about the Jack rabbit that I never knew before. I just recently learned that you should leave bunny babies alone, and I could see why people would get concerned if they don’t have this knowledge. I loved your composition, and it really sets a place right at first glance!

    I'm so glad you joined us for this round of videos Mary. Your work is so lovely, and I love the city element you've added to really tie everything together. I'm also so happy that you've been able to share all of this information with your viewers. It was so fun to hear about their paleontological history, and I'm so glad that you let people know about leaving baby rabbits alone - so many mammals end up in rehab centers for this reason when they were never in any danger

    I was so close to picking a jack rabbit since I lived seeing them growing up in my town. I loved learning so much about them and really loved seeing your painting process since gouache is still so mysterious for me. This piece is so gorgeous and it has been so fun having you along this urban animal journey on this round for the AAC

    Gorgeous piece! I love how you build up the colors and how you use Gouache in general. Learned quite a bit about Jackrabbits!

    A wonderful painting for a simple animal that I really love 💕 simply lovely to see all those mini baby bunnies beside the roads! It was awesome to see you join the animal artist collective!

    Beautiful work! We have tons of rabbits around our house and my 3 yo son tries to name them all.

    Beautiful painting! And that's interesting to know about baby animals being alone. I've wondered about the seagull babies I've seen walking or standing alone and screaming, not being able to fly yet. But I did indeed find out that it's normal and the mother feeds them a couple of times a day and they'll be on their own for the rest of the day.

    This is quite interesting . I would say that jackrabbits' running patterns are more illogical in a setting where people are trying to avoid them. It is one of the few cases in a jackrabbit's life where running in seemingly erratic and hard to predict movements actually works against them rather than for them.

    The composition is spot on. Because of the drain, you can clearly see that this is an urban setting and I love that. It's also very interesting to listen to the story of their origin from the perspective of your work. Very new and different. I love it!

    I like the idea of a bunch of scientists standing around a skeleton and asking it to open wide. =>.

    Stunning! It's very instructive to watch you paint. One thing that I would love to know is how long it took you to create this work. Sometimes it can feel like youtube artists are wizards who can work super quickly, when I know hours (approx.) a particular work took.

    I Love this. is the overlay painting done in gouache? What kind of gouache do you use? I am currently having a gouache frenzy using both schmincke designer gouache and shinhanpass and I absolutly am loving that medium as much if not more then watercolor.

    • @MarySanche
      @MarySanche  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, the underpainting is watercolour and the rest of the painting is gouache. I use Winsor & Newton and M. Graham & Co. brands for the gouache. :)

    • @AafkeVultink
      @AafkeVultink 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noooo. You did not just say M Graham's on me... I've been holding myself together for months cause prices in europe on m graham are a bit high for my liking lol, we pay in euro's what you pay in dollars. Id be happy to pay me 8 dollar for that size tube and quality but Im not amused when I am paying 8 euro per tube. Same with ds btw. Though the quality on both is worth it; my wallet does not aprove,so I will stick to my local brands for now:) like M Graham thank God Schmincke is known for being quite stable on lightfast ratings even with gouache. Luckily thats a good sub for me:)

    • @MarySanche
      @MarySanche  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A .Vultink yeah I just use M. Graham because it's cheap here, not because I love it the most. Too much gum arabic for my taste but it's fine. W&N is my favourite.
