  • Your heart is a muscle and just like any other muscle in your body, if it’s working harder it becomes more muscular. Your heart muscle responds to high blood pressure by thickening and getting bigger. In this video I will discuss this process of left ventricular hypertrophy and what it means for your heart.

Cardioogist diagnosed LVH. Was treated for HBP for 3 years and getting worse fatigue and dizziness. Finally went for a second opinion and learned I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Since birth. Am now treated correctly and improvement in exercise tolerance, no shortness of breath. Still fatigued but that is because side effects of Camzyos.

This is an exceptional and informative video. I was diagnosed with LVH yesterday. I am 49 and both of my parents passed away from heart illness in their 50's. I asked to see a cardiologist as a precaution. I can't state enough how important it is to listen to what your body is telling you. My GP said my shortness of breath and tiredness was age plus anxiety. I pushed and pushed to see a specialist and I am so glad I did. Now onto treatment!

I’ve been diagnosed with LVH. The pain I get sometimes when I walk up flight of stairs and get to the top, I feel like my heart is trying to pump blood through a narrow artery fast and it’s very painful.
It usually goes away within several seconds, once my heart slows down.

Does low blood volume affects the diastolic function in Left ventricle? Or the left ventricle alter its diastolic function according to the volume of blood?

I have this but I have low blood pressure and a low resting heart rate. I passed heart stress tests. Do i have "athlete's heart"? I have been lifting heavy weights for near ten years now.

Presence of Left ventricle diastolic disfunction but No hypertrophy, No restrictions, No enlarged heart, No thickned walls nor thin walls, No blockages, No EF under 50% but had a chronic heavy menstural bleeding lasting 21 days a month and has a habbit of screen apnea.
Will the Diastolic Disfunction be cured or reversed If this habbit of holding breath is controlled?

left ventricular hypertrophy is basically a death sentence, just a matter of time before it stops ticking, Notice how he never mentions the percentage of cases that are corrected or improved, Of course life style choices make a big difference, but once you have this condition does it really make a difference ? the meds they give you may help for some time but in the long run they don't even know how long you have, doctors don't want to tell you that your fucked. i was just diagnosed with this..
