    having had LVH due to an adrenal tumour and shocking blood pressure for best part of 3-4 years with 3 heart meds of varying types concurrently, once tumour removed and changed diet to low carb with intermittent fasting and exercise, lost excess weight and was able to stop all heart meds. The two subsequent heart scans shown no sign of LVH - so it can be done, have hope and listen to this excellent Dr. Thanks for all you do Dr. Gupta

    • @darcybrown7369
      @darcybrown7369 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @Andrew McDowell it was moderate i believe. My endocrinologist decided the tumour was responsible for the sky high BP/ the cardiologist attributed the LVH to the BP. I was on three concurrent heart meds which only kept the BP to about 150-160/95-105 ish. Plus variety of anti sickness drugs over the period -none of which managed to stop the vomiting or nausea. Re heart drugs tried so many combinations - none of which worked great, some produced bad side effects (visiting hospital bad on occasion) and suffered many pronounced side effects to drug combinations including uncontrollable shakes, random blisters, vomiting, erratic heart rhythms, insomnia, breathlessness, etc.

      Dr. Thanks immensely for your resourceful video that coincidentally has to do with my condition. It's about four years I am suffering from LVH 3 - 3.1. The common symptoms I get are sporadic light pains and/or palpitations in my left chest. Where and how can I get medication that can help me, given that I am in Cameroon, West Africa?

    Absolutely brilliant, doctor. The complex made simple! I had an ecg today under peculiar circumstances. There was prolonged QT and T wave combo in conjunction with very high blood pressure. 180/118. They thus escorted me to AE nearby, had a blood test twice for topronin, which was found non-present. No arhythmia. Electrolytes good. Threshold rbc anaemia, probably copd related. I have stage 3 copd, greatly degraded over the past 12 months. I got a copy of the ecg, which I couldn't understand, obviously, but which I investigated on the NET, giving me a decent layman's understanding. Your talk put it all together for me, very clearly. They gave me an appointment at a cardiac clinic. I'm now up to speed, thank you so much. Keep up the good work, enjoy! 😊

    Thank you for giving a new heart patient hope. The doom and gloom is all I hear most of the time. It's so useful to have the facts and the sense of hope for the ability to reverse some of the damage I have. My only symptom of this problem was shortness of breath after eating. My doctor picked up on the problem and confirmed the diagnosis with an EKG in the office. Now onto a cardiologist for the Echo and possible stress test. My blood pressure has started to rise over my normal 115/75 in recent months. And I do snore so sleep apnea is a possibility. Hoping it's not too late to make significant, beneficial changes in my heart condition. Thanks again!

So far i had 5 times ECCO almost 1 ECCO every 15-20 days and found that holding breath in the breathing excecise ( Kumbaka Pranayam) causes Conentric LVH in patients with hypertension. If your husband is doing this Kumbaka Pranayam, please tell him to stop it and he can do alternate nostril breathng (Anulom Vilom Pranayama) which will ease out concentric LVH.

    I have all the symptoms. I have a enlarged heart. The cardiologist says everything is fine. When I'm getting dizzy and feeling short of breath everything is not fine. Idk how some of these doctors become doctors if they are not gonna listen to there patients. I don't just go to the doctor because I wanna go I go because there is a reason. I personally don't have a grudge against any of them. Let's figure out what is wrong when I say my symptoms. I know my body and when something is off.

    Just found your channel this morning; first video watched, "Left Ventricular Hypertrophy", streamed in April of 2016. Great overall intro btw; dumbed down just right, at least for me. The second video of yours that I watched, this one. With just a little over 4 1/2 years time having elapsed, you're not looking the worse for wear. Appreciate your channel and its value to viewers like me.
    Thumbs-Up, Subscribe; consider it done.

    I wish we had more doctors like you. It’s people like myself that really get anxiety over being told things like this and it’s as if the doctors don’t really care. I always had issues with somewhat high BP. Not one Doctor never really mentioned starting me on meds. It was the cut back on salt and exercise. I would do that for a few months lose weight and gain it back. Lose and gain. Always up and down. I eventually lost about 45lbs and felt great 2018-2019. I was vegan. Had a lot of energy and all.Went to the doctor last year Bc I had a bad chest cold. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t pneumonia. So they did an X-ray. And he sat me down and said my heart was huge. I knew the doctor personally, he was a friend of our family so he was like a uncle of mine. He said this isn’t good and started me on BP meds. He said my ekg was great. Blood work was normal from my previous visit . My heart sounds good but he wanted to do a echo, sadly he died suddenly and since then I’ve been terrified about my heart. Never got the echo. He told me it could be reversed if I eat better and work out. However now I’m having More palpitations. Anxiety through the roof. I picked up 18lbs since last December. Everything that excites me causes more pvcs. I’m scared to work out. Everything makes me feel nervous. I finally went to the doctor last week. My dr didn’t seem bothered when I told her about my heart enlargement diagnosis and I guess she looked at my record and said she seen a slight enlargement but nothing alarming she did another ekg and that was great. I recently started taking anxiety meds. I told her I would feel more comfortable just having a echo done and she said am I sure? Bc it can be costly if my insurance doesn’t cover most of it. It’s like she’s making me feel like I’m worrying over nothing. A year ago my doctor basically made me feel like I was dying by saying this isn’t good at all. Now I have a doctor saying well I can try to put in a order if that’s what you want. So I have an echo coming up at the end of the month and I’m just terrified that the years of me having high BP and damage to the heart can’t be reversed and eventually I’ll die of heart failure. I’m only 32. I’m married with two small kids and just the thought of me leaving early over my mistakes of eating bad as a young kid will cost me my life is depressing. I have no shortness of breath, no swelling, BP is normal. 115/74 . But still having more frequent pvcs.

    I am 46 and was indirectly diagnosed with this in January. Thinking it as a mistake, I let it go. In June I noticed non-stop heart palps and SOB but also being an anxiety sufferer, it was easy to write off. I went today and here I sit, Holter monitor attached, confirmed LVH and I don't know what else yet. I've spent more than half the day upset that I'm too young for this and terrified at what appears to be a condition with little to no cure. What's done is done and it's only gonna get worse is essentially what I keep finding. You've just given me HOPE, doc. Thank you so much for this information.

      I guess he's busy. But according to him, some weight loss & cardio are helpful, so it sounds like you're on a good track. Speaking from personal experience, weight lifting seemed to temporarily make me feel better but may have made my lhv worse as it feels bigger, and I noticed an uptick in atopic beats after I started lifting heavier weights for a few weeks. I'll go back to walking & much much lighter weights, reluctantly haha

    Is there anyway you can talk about the importance of salt consumption, please?

    • @checkdat8
      @checkdat8 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Salt is important part of our body.
      Salt: Na (40%)+ Cl (60%)
      General recommendation is no more than 6gm of Salt a day.
      Means 2400mg or 2.4gm of Sodium a day.
      Body needs only 1gm or 1000mg of Sodium to work effectively. (That includes anything that contains salt like sauce, noodles, pasta, bread, biscuits etc)
      Means Half a tsp is more than enough for your body to work.
      It is very essential for proper functioning of heart and brain.
      More salt you eat more your body retains water. Less you eat less water is retained. SOS free and vegan followers tend to lose weight very rapidly as salt can be found naturally in veggies. You don't need anymore help from outside as long as you eat plenty of veggies and fruits.
      Don't drink more than 2L of fluids. Excessive consumption of fluids can lead to Hypo or Hypernatreamia
