Great video! 8 months ago I bought a 2023 Sentra SR in orange with the midnight package and manual transmission. I love this car. I did note it was a bit slow at first, but there might be a break in period as I noticed it seemed to get snappier around 8000km. Having driven both the CVT and MT, there is a huge performance benefit to the MT. When I drive it now it feels just as fast as the 2.0 Civic. Great value for the money.
I got my 2021 SR 6 speed a little over a month ago. I had to wait almost 3 weeks for delivery because they didn't have any manuals in blue in my province. I have to agree that the car lacks in power even with the 6 speed. The fun point to mention is the 6 speed SR is the same price as the SV CVT with moon roof. So that a huge bonus considering the add ons you get with the SR. last point to mention is I am 6'3 250 and I fit very comfortably in this car. All in all for the money it's a great deal.
I live in New York and was thinking of driving up to Canada to buy a manual Sentra SR and bring it back to America. I know there's a whole process in getting the car to meet US safety and emission standards but that doesn't deter me much. This car checks all of my boxes, with the only issue being that I can't buy one where I live.
Best review I’ve seen of this car! Really on the edge on if I wanna buy this or not because of the underwhelming power. Hard to find a new budget car in manual with power!

It really isn't that easy to find a manual at a budget anymore... and while this Sentra is lacking in the power department I am still confident that it is sufficient for daily driving as long as you don't mind downshifting occasionally! Whenever you decide on your next car I would love to hear what you bought and why you decided on that! Consumer insight is incredibly helpful to me.
@@GCCarsCA decided on the Sentra. Good value for money. So far really enjoying it. Nice to have that real handbrake too! My only complaint, wish the sunroof went back farther but other than that, a fun daily driver. Gonna wax it today !

Most companies only offer MT's in base models nowadays to advertise low starting prices. You can thank Scott Pak of Nissan Canada for putting the manual XMSN in the SR for 2021. I wish I could have gotten mine with the premium package but still way better than the base model. Ohhh, and people who buy a blue one with the Orange interior must be Edmonton Oilers fans..... just saying. (mine is Monarch Orange)
@@fbod8682 I ended up getting the 21 with silver cuz they are actually black and silver in person and it really liked the look...made my decision easy between the 2 lol. Couldn't see the black in the rims in the pics
What's your feedback on the 6-speaker audio system? I am considering ordering the base trim (6mt) but wondering if the 6-speaker system is an upgrade? Unfortunately, the Bose is not an option on the manuals.
@@GCCarsCA Thank you for the revert. I have decided to go ahead with thebase trim, even though it comes with the 4 speaker setup opposed to the 6-speaker setup on the SR. Just to share my insights why, the base trim has all the safety features and the only other additions to the SR trim are 18inch alloys, LED headlamps and foglights, rear spoiler, sunroof, heated leather steering, rear disk brake and cosmetic difference to the fabric of seats and dash. The price difference on date is almost $5K after taxes and for me, that was 25% more over the base trim for features that weren't super important to me.
unfortunatly north america doesn't get the focus anymore, otherwise you colud compare these pretty good. I think there even is a sedan version of the new focus, but only for the asian market. However, very good video just like everytime.

yeah, I was really hoping I could get the premium for the Bose Audio but I forsee a DSP and some big amps to solve that next year.
I had a older version of the Sentra with 6 speed manual.very reliable but lacked much power.140 hp in 2007 not much has changed needs a turbo.

I'd go black! I think it works well with the blacked out grill and mirrors, but silver will probably look great too!

It's been a while since I was in the Sentra, but if I recall correctly I found the audio system to be totally fine. Hope that helps!

Compared to other base trim economic manuals: Kia forte, Jetta, Corolla, Sentra? Your fav?
Unfortunately I have only driven the SR Sentra, but if I have to choose I'd go with either the Sentra or the Corolla.

I have the Sentra MT now, and had a 2015 Focus S MT. Focus was waaaaaaaay better driving wise. IMO.
