THE BMW FIGHTER? - 2025 Cadillac CT5 Sport - Review
The newly refreshed Cadillac CT5 sports new a exterior design, interior updates, and upgraded tech features for the 2025 model year, with the goal of making Cadillac's midsize sedan more attractive in a very competitive segment. The CT5 fits size-wise somewhere between the BMW 3 and 5-Series (or Mercedes' C & E-Class), but at a price of $61,700 ($67,719 CAD here in Canada) it competes more with the Acura TLX and INFINITI Q50.
To find out if the new upgrades make the CT5 the definitive choice in the segment, we will take a look at the Cadillac's interior and exterior design, while also taking it out on the road and performing acceleration and handling tests.     This is a pretty inexperienced review here. I own a 23 2500 AT4 and a 24 F-250 Tremor. I could give the slight edge on interior to the GMC but the Tremor is far more capable and better driving / riding. And for the love of God, quit comparing it to a 1500 or Bronco. I drive both of my HD trucks in the city. Not sure how the cities in Canada are though, eh?

      The reason why we compare it to other vehicles such as the F-150 and the Bronco is to give our audience, who are mostly unfamiliar with heavy duty trucks, a reference of their capabilities.

    How's your right leg comfort In the driver cabin? I find that center console compromises right leg normal driving position and will cause your right knee to feel cramped or will cause discomfort Koz of that giant ipad screen design.

      @GCCarsCA I'm 5'9" reason I asked I never had this right leg driving space issue and I own a 2023 CLA 35 AMG considering it's a smaller car , my legs are usually in a V shape positon like most drivers. When they sit and drive. Only with the newer C class model with that came with the center "iPad" console, had I experienced this. I guess it's a design flaw from Mercedes. They forgot about the driver focused ergonomics and comfort 🤣

    Thank you for this video. I have been driving a Tahoe for 15 years. Been thinking about an upgrade for a few years. Denali ultimate ( used -2 years old) was the clear front runner.     It’s a beautiful car, yet an absolute axe murderer. I drove a 55, loved it. Bought the 63, and it’s incomparable. Definitely not a Porsche. This is flattering to drive hard, it doesn’t takeover the way a 911 does when you make a ‘mistake’. And the sound, it’s a junk yard dog growling and spitting at you.

    Those were the days. In 2025 it goes from a pkg available on XLT and Lariat in 2024 to its own trim level in 2025. So being budget minded is debatable. In 2024 it was comparable or someone had to really think on a Maverick vs Polaris crew cab Northstar. Yes different but for a daily but still getting work done on the farm can be a big plus vs a side by side. Now in 2025 its pricing it to Colorado, Ranger etc. 40,000 to 42,000 doesnt seem budget friendly for the 2025

    the controls in the giant screen is enough for me to never buy one what the hell is wrong with knobs that you don't have to take your eyes off the road to adjust it is a major safety issue

    Only issue I had is it’s the camera angle of shooting the car from low in the ground. Everyone copies this style and it’s garbage. Cars look further from the ground and less attractive. Shots from higher angles make every car look better

      Are you talking about the thumbnail or the video b roll? For the thumbnail we always test multiple different shots, and this low angle performed better than the high angles. If you're talking about b roll, then we can try to implement a greater variety of shots in future videos 🙂

    So simple..Cle53 is stronger and faster and better looking then bmw m340i..but its no match to m3..so ee wait for v8 with min 570hp.. M3 has lots of tuning options like stagr 1 is up to 650HP.. 4.0 V8 stahe 1 is approx 700zHP

    My wife and I are or were in the market for a new large SUV. We are older and don't need it we just want it. However, we have given up until the prices change. Sites are reporting that RAM new CEO is or thinking about cutting MSRP by 35% on trucks. If the same holds true for the Grand Wagoneer, then we would consider one. No way we would buy a Wagoneer over a Yukon but the Grand Wagoneer at 35% off would at least get us to look and seriously consider it. For us, it would be the Yukon Denali versus the Grand Wagoneer. At 35% off it would be about 10k less which would align right now. However, if GMC followed suit with some discounts as well then it would be back to the Yukon winning again. This thing against an Escalade is not a competition, it's a beat down by the Escalade. Consumer reports has not been kind the Wagoneer or the Grand Wagoneer on reliability and rightfully so. Lots of stories of these being in the shop more than on the road. Huge downside is the knob in the middle of the console. Huge upside is all the screens is awesome! The Yukon is sleek, sexy and even mean looking at times. This thing looks like a shoebox with wheels on it.

      That is only for a very specific set of 4x4 systems. 4WD in modern trucks has non-issues with on-road driving.

    Type-S is way better looking, and with better tires can keep up with a Type R, while sitting in leather seats, modern amenities and great stereo. But they are both the essence of amazing FWD cars with superb transmissions. Can't go wrong.

      There are plenty of truck-focused channels that would probably be more to your liking. As a variety channel, we can't dive as deep into a singular vehicle category as they can.

    I disagree with most of what you said. I can appreciate you trying to boost the cred of the Escalade, but I’ve owned a ‘23 Sport Platinum ESV and a ‘22 GWS3. I have 95k kms on the GW and 13k kms on ESV. I can hold a conversation with 70kph wind with third row passengers without even raising my voice in the GW…I get a headache in the Escalade with anything more than 15kph wind. The decibel reader says that it is 6 decimal louder on relatively loud road condition for Escalade. Also, Super Cruise really only works on major highways…as soon as you hit any “major” road intersection it deactivates and there is ZERO way to stop it from hammering on the brakes. The acceleration is noticeably faster in the GW, the turning radius is over 12’ shorter and I can put a full mug of coffee on the front centre console of the GW and it won’t spill. Caddy would spill everywhere. Both were brand new when I got and came with every option. Also, fuel economy isn’t even close. The GW has averaged 18.6mpg lifetime and regularly gets 20-22 on highway. Escalade has beaten with 6.2 has beat 19 mpg once. We don’t speed. Only benefits to Escalade are: sound system, Super Cruise (when it works) and overall client experience. Otherwise, I’d take the GW 10/10 times

      Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Just to clarify, we think the GW is really good, but based on our experience with 5 different Escalades, the Escalade closer aligns with what we are looking for in a luxury SUV. And note that Super Cruise only works on highways and is not meant to be an autonomous system that navigates intersections. So it does work as intended, even if that might be more restrictive than for example Tesla's auto pilot.

    English is not my primary language,There is a market for every one,we as an example don’t like big screens and less gadgets the better,Mercedes,bmw etc etc all great cars with something’s we just don’t like,Volvo is just simple with that google integration,bauwers and wilkins sound system,462 hp and 523lb of torque and what about the safety of the car is just uncomparable ,not all want those big screens in the center with laser colors all around.

      Our issue with Volvo is that they keep preaching safety, yet make common functions such as climate controls only accessible through a touch-based, unintuitive system. So while a Volvo might fare slightly better in an accident, I'd argue that you're more likely to be in an accident in the first place as the Volvo has more distractions. That being said, both the GLE and XC90 are fantastic, and we can't wait to test the updates Volvo made to the new generation!

      Yes. Theatre, drama, performance, luxury. It’s really a super GT competing with the Aston Vantage and Ferrari Roma. Are those super cars? Would have to say yes.
