SERENGETI: LION VS. HYENA SHOWDOWN

- During a five day camping safari in Serengeti National Park we had the pleasure to witness hyenas steal a wildebeest carcass from a lion pride, the lions then preceded to steal their kill back! Truly nature at its finest!

Looks to be about 15 Hyenas in front of the camera, and 1 behind it.
And 1 in behind the mobile

Fine video. These animals have a deep hatred for one another. It seemed the interaction was all about taunting. All that for a spine and some hide. Lions can't but hyenas can break up and digest the spine (bones). Don't see the humor in all this but wish I were there.

LOL! I thought this was a fight! The lions didn't want the carcass anymore, because they walked away from it They had already eaten the meat off of it. Just look @02:50 when the hyenas secured the carcass. There's nothing but bones! Trust me, if it was a fresh kill with a lot of meat, the lions would still have it. I have much respect for hyenas though. They're only strong with numbers. If it were a one on one, the hyena always run like a bat out of hell.

There was only basically skin and bones left on the carcass the cats had indeed had the lions share.
There was only one fully grown lioness. Other lions, were cubs or young.

It looked like These females had young perhaps sub adults, and did not want to put them in harms way. Female lions would generally have nothing to fear if not for the absents of the males.

The carcass was mostly bones, not much motivation for lions to spent energy in such little reward.

Lions weren't concerned because they had pretty much finished the kill. I turned the volume down the people laughing were extremely irritating.

We don't even k ow WHO made the kill. Showing lions will a kill doesn't automatically mean that the lions killed it. They could've stolen it from the hyenas or wild dogs. Who knows? The hyena could be stealing it BACK. Lions aren't just innocent all the time. No animal is. You lion king fanatics need to face reality, and in reality, BOTH predators are strong, fierce, and good animals who BOTH steal from each other AND other animals. Actually, ALL animals steal and scavenge as well as hunt. You see jackals and vultures sneaking past the lions or hyenas to get some of their food, too, so why just target hyenas? All animals do the same fucking thing. Plus, science has already proven that they are good animals who have their place in the animal kingdom as second top predator to the lion and clean-up crew of the savanna. There is no such thing as a bad animal (unless you count humans because we have that concept of evil). Animals may have a concept of good or bad BUT ONLY in their lifestyle. In their case, good is doing what you naturally do and caring for your families. Bad is going against that and betraying your own pack, pride, or clan. Basically, the opposite of what they're naturally supposed to do.
I must admit. If you are going to make footage. Have respect for the animals. Do not joke and laugh. It s disrespectful. And can ruin your footage.
