Oh man, I remember playing this thing fresh on the PS3 on release. Seeing all these charging handles being racked and all the sounds coming from them make me feel some sort of way. If only another campaign was made like this. Shaddup Sweetwater!
Honestly would love to see a new Battlefield game in the Bad Company style. Having less options for weapon attachments and smaller maps made around rush made for some good game balance. Never mind how amazing those campaigns were…

Never realized how ahead of the game BC1 was with its anims, accuracy notwithstanding. Might be part of the reason why I have my weird fascination with reload animations.
I remember my dad always playing this game and he would always use the f2000. Later on I played on his ps3 account with the f2000 and then I realized how fascinated I was with it.
I don't get a thing: couldn't the developers of this game apply the same animations (not the sniper rifles, the pistols or LMGs at least) on sequel, instead to let the player just SLAPPING the mag? It's just weird seeing the player not cocking the gun but just slapping it, like if the SLAP completes the reload.
@@walterwhite4398 I get that yeah some people do credit him but make it there own content aswell you can tell when it's copyrighted when it's low resolution eg 360P instead of 720 or 1080P or its just the full video unedited ect
One of the games I've enjoyed the most to just chill back in the day, the size of its levels combined with the great radio songs and the good banter between the characters was such a treat, and, while the game itself felt a bit janky at times due to its AI, its pretty good graphics for its time combined with the weapon variety (the concept of leaving some cool-ass weapon someplace isolated to encourage and reward exploration was sick for its genre) makes me think back fondly of it. Surprised to see just how many unique animations they did for the weapons, by the way, some of these guns were barely readily available im the campaign.
I like these better than in BC2 because if you’re gonna only have one reload animation, why not rack the charging handle every time instead? Or whatever else would be appropriate for that gun.
Ah, man. BadCo1 was a treat. Shame it was console only, and the FOV was terrible, and the ADS muzzle flash was practically an epileptic hazard. The campaign was one of the best in Battlefield, and the multiplayer was the pioneer in Rush (basically my favorite Battlefield gamemode). Still don't understand why BadCo2 removed the charging handle usage for rifles and SMGs. Or removed the SPAS-15, as it was one of like 5 games that actually featured it. Nice to see you managed to find the Veteran weapons, given their rarity after EA pulled the plug on the sites responsible for handing those out. Shame that it's official servers are getting taken down in December. But hey, we have emulators for that and for all the above issues. Also lol the Superintendent icon for the minimap
To this day I swear the animator for these weapons used a combination of light base mocap, or just had a deep understanding of how to accurately convey weighted motion and realistic motion of the hands when performing a reload. Newer FPS reload animations are almost entirely traditionally animated, and as a result can often times feel way too floaty, weightless and almost too flamboyantly or perfectly executed. The subtle details you see here such as the weapons weight or those little human mistakes the player makes while performing the reload still feel so real to me. In 1943, when reloading the Thompson the animation includes a small detail where in the character misses the magwell hitting the weapon frame once before finally properly inserting it. You see it here too with some sniper rifles!
These animations are pretty much a direct "upgrade" to battlefield 2 reloads. You can see most of these movements follow the same beat as the older game.
Just curious, are you going to do some reload animation videos for older cod games you haven't done yet? The servers for the games are fixed and alive now for nearly all of them

The animation team: Yes.

Oh wow, nice to see that BC1 had cocking animations for basically every firearm. Odd that they were omitted from BC2.
In BC2, they reduced TTK, so they reduced mag capacity and had to make the reloads faster.
